September 1 is the best birthday ever. ;D usually falls on labor day weekend, though as a kid my birthday meant school was starting in a couple of days.

My husband's birthday is labor day and he hated it as a kid because it meant he had to go back to school. Now, our daughter's birthday is always the first week of school. She loves school so she doesn't have that built into her - but he is doing his best to instill it. I keep telling him to stop telling her how much school sucks.

My birthday meant school was about to start and all I ever got for my birthday was school clothes. Kids want toys, damn it!

I have a November birthday. I don't know, kind of sucked as a kid having a birthday so close to Christmas since my birthday and Christmas were the only time I would reliably get toys. So the rest of the year could be pretty barren indeed in that regard. But nowdays it really doesn't make a difference. However, my birthday always falls on or around election day . As far as school ages it worked out well. I was a bit older than most of my classmates but not very much so.

My son is a 9/11 - he was born 7 years before that date became relevant though. It was also his birth weight (OUCH!)
My other son with summer birthday always had issues inviting school friends to his party. Not so big a deal anymore.
My niece was almost born on 11/11/11. Doctor decided to do a non-emergency c-section the day before. Guess he was not into numerology.
My family has a lot of May birthdays. My birthday is 5/17 and one brother is 5/19, then the other brother's wife is 5/18, so my mom has 3 birthdays in a row.

DN2 was the same - he was born 9/8/09. If you're getting a C-section anyway, can't you wait and give the kid a cool birthday?

I'm the beginning of August and I hated not being allowed to bring in cupcakes and stuff when I was in elementary school. In middle and high school I was always on vacation (because turning 13 while at your grandmother's house is REALLY exciting) or at summer camp. Summer camp birthdays were the best but I only had 3. Where I moved to they actually do have school starting July 29th so I've been wondering a lot what it would be like to have grown up here.
Of course I was supposed to be born on my grandfather's birthday, and my uncle's birthday is a couple of days later. It would have been awesome to have been born on grandpa's birthday. I know he really wanted it ;D
