Just short of our 12 year anniversary, and I lost mine. I'm pretty sure I was wearing it when we went to the convention. I noticed that I wasn't near the end of the day on Tuesday. I don't remember taking it off at any point. Loop is kind of ticked. They were a wedding present and all. It's not helping that I lost it over a four day weekend at a hotel. We were together most of the weekend, but she keeps giving me this look like, "Did you take your ring off to pick up some skank in a slave Lea costume to take up to the room while I wasn't looking..." I'm probably not getting laid for weeks now... and I have to buy another damn ring. Oh, and of course since I'm getting a new ring they won't match anymore so we should probably just buy a new set... women! Anyway, apparently we're in the market for new wedding bands. Anybody have something they really like? Oh, and for the record, there was no con skank involved. I swear it on my life, my honor, my kids, and all the gods old and new.

Since I've started wearing a ring, I clench my hand obsessively and check constantly to make sure it is still there. I take it off for garden work, and exercise, and whenever I take it off, I put it in one of two places, so if I'm not wearing it, it better be in one of those places.
Our bands don't match, and in a way, DW paid for mine. But it is platinum, so replacing it would not be fun. Actually, I should get it added to our insurance.

I lost mine a few months after the wedding. I knew it was too big (a 9 when I have always worn a 7, but the salesperson was so insistent). It just fell off somewhere.
We replaced it, but I hardly ever wear it. I am not a jewelry person.

Men wearing rings seems strange to me. It was uncommon where I grew up and in my family, but I see it more now. Whatever makes you happy. FWIW, women getting engagement rings was also uncommon in my family.
Anyway BFF's husband had an etched Tungsten-Carbide Engagement ring that he loved to pieces and I think the wedding ring is a plain platinum band. He liked the tungsten-carbide one better.

Mine only comes off when I work out. I have a little hook on the wall in my home gym area where I hang it when I lift. Other than that it's on my finger all the time; sleeping, showering, working in the yard, etc. Well, up until this weekend anyway.

My husband doesn't wear a wedding ring. I'm sure he's cheating on me.

DH's is stainless steel with gold inlays and we got it from Zales. I only paid $65 for it at the time. The thing is dang near impossible to destroy and even after three years looks the same as the day I bought it.

I wear mine all the time, even when sleeping. I had a former jewerler point out that it is a lot harder to lose it if it is always on my finger.
DH can't wear his at work for safety reasons, so he only wears his when we are out. My dad doesn't wear his for the same reason, I only ever saw him wearing his on vacation.

I'm not sure my dad ever had a wedding ring. If DBF ever becomes DH I might not get him one. He's a mechanic and wearing a ring is like begging someone to kill you or chop your finger off at the soonest possible moment.
ETA: Would that be a 'no no' ?

Point out your "cheaters" ring to her - you know, that tan line from wearing your ring - and when you get a new ring make sure to stick your left hand with ring on out the window often to re-inforce it!
Aside from this, how is the business plan going?
ETA - did you go to the workout room at the hotel? Maybe tucked it in your pocket or shaving kit while lifting?

I was considering just getting a tattooed wedding ring. That way I won't have to worry about it. I told Loop I'd spring for matching rings if we go that way. I'll even get her a giant rock if she wants to replace the engagement ring that way. She's not going for it though.

I haven't worn my wedding or engagement ring in years. My husband couldn't wear his at work becuase he worked iwth electricity...then it seemed to silly to put it on when he got home. I still wore mine until I scratched my oldest's cheek with my engagement ring when she was an infant...I tried wearing just the gold band but I didn't like the look of it without the diamond. so I stopped wearing mine, too.
I think it is silly to think that a skank would even care if you were married....

Aside from this, how is the business plan going? Coming along. Kind of slowly. At the advice of the retailers on the game store board, we won't be opening this fall like I originally talked about. They thought I was crazy to try and open around then, since we won't have enough time to build up a customer base before the Christmas shopping season. They seem to like May as an opening time, and around then works with our schedules better.

DH lost his ring in our 3rd year of marriage. We replaced it and he lost that one in our 8th year of marriage. That was last year and we haven't replaced it yet (both were under $100). I took off my nice 1.25C ring a year ago and have been wearing a plain $35 band since. I don't know if I'll ever go back to wearing it - just too fancy for me. As you can see, we aren't ring people.

If there was really a con skank involved I doubt you would have needed to take your ring off

My ring is fake, so no help there It is very purty, though! DH is a weirdo and wanted an engagement ring, so he's been wearing a ring for about 5 years now. I think his current one is the third we've gone through (he lost 100+ lbs after we got the first one and it was WAY big, lost the second one we got, and still has this one). It's one of the dark gray tungsten ones - I think it was about $75. Hope Loop isn't too mad at you about it. I wasn't upset when DH lost his, but I don't get very excited about stuff like that (as evidenced by the fact that I can't even remember what is engraved on DH's wedding ring)

DId you lift over the weekend? No, and I already tore the house apart looking for the stupid thing, called the hotel to see if anyone turned it in, and even dug through all the seats in my car. That sucker is nowhere to be found.

May sounds good - gives you a good solid year for planning. This is not something to go into half-assed as may really have the potential to succeed. I am born and bred Bay Area and there are enough geeks there to .... well, you know.

Check your shaving kit and all pockets. I look at it this way - if you had been after some skank you would know exactly where you put the ring - lol. But what do I know - when I accused XBF cheating he told the truth when he said he wasn't seeing other women!

Anyone here have wood bands? They look pretty cool, but I'm wondering how they'd hold up?

Have her help you find a new wedding band and call it good enough.
DH and I will be married 36 years this month. We have matching bands, but about 18 years ago DH decided he wanted a different wedding band. His original band was kind of narrow and he's a large guy, so I said sure! As long as he wears something, I don't care. He found one he liked and bought it. Since then he's also got a ring from his employer for 25 years of employment, and inherited his dear grandfather's wedding band. He'll wear one of the four rings depending on his mood, but his favorite is his grandfather's.
You don't stay happily married for 36 years by worrying about wedding rings. DH would be more upset if he lost a ring than I would be. Life happens. Rings get lost, cars get scratched, crystal gets dropped. Those are little things in the whole scheme of things.

DH and I never wear our rings unless we are at work or out somewhere. I cannot stand having any jewelry on especially when I sleep. As soon as I walk in the door, all of my jewelry comes off. I am the same way. I rarely wear my rings at home, unless I forget to take them off after coming home from being out. DH wore his for about a month after the wedding and that was it. Why do you both have to get new sets? Why can't you just get a plain white gold/yellow gold/platinum band to match the metal of Loop's ring?

That's what I do too, but I pretty much only wear my rings when I leave the house. I don't wear them around home.
Our rings don't match. I have a very thin wedding band of diamonds and a matching engagement ring. DH has a tungsten band. He wanted something manly and plain and that would be very durable for work.
