Can you just tile or re-do the smaller entryway area (where the damage is) and leave the rest?

Can you just tile or re-do the smaller entryway area (where the damage is) and leave the rest? The damage is to the carpet next to the tile. She ripped up the edge of the carpet where it meets the wood, then yanked on it, so that a strip about a foot wide and six feet long ripped up from the carpet. Then ate the pad underneath the strip she pulled up. Well, she didn't actually eat much of it... I don't think. Just ripped it into tiny pieces and scattered it all over the floor.

Really? I guess I did $2.39 x 1000 + 10% = $2,629.
They have bamboo for $1.99, but that wouldn't take enough off to get all the way down.
Honestly, if it would make you happy, and you don't plan on moving anytime soon - $4k might not be a terrible amount to spend.
