We went with the realtor from DH's networking group. We are giving it 30 days at the current price, and then going from there. Renting is NOT an option - I don't want to deal with the hassle of it, especially in this neighborhood. I just want out. We are currently beefing up savings so we can pay to get out if we have to, but obviously we would rather not do that.
I am preparing myself to have to stay here for the next six-twelve months (or move in with DH's parents & let the house sit). While I hope & pray that we are homeless by next week, I know that's probably not the reality.

No, we don't walk away. But when we're holding on to something precious, we run.

Even if the house sells (offer made and accepted) next week, it will take several weeks to close. You will have those several weeks to look for a new place.

When I was "invaded" back in 1995, I swore I would never feel that fear again. Trained on the use of a hand gun, got my license, have 3 dogs.

DH wants a gun. I grew up with them, and have no problems with them really. But to have a gun you need to be willing to use it (could I really do it? ), and you have to keep it loaded & accessible for it to be any good. With a STB toddler, and hopefully more kids to come, I don't know that I feel comfortable leaving a loaded weapon in the home (and if its locked up, then we are back to the quickly accessible argument). When it comes to fight-or-flight, I got the flight instinct. DH, otoh, got the fight instinct.

When it comes to fight-or-flight, I got the flight instinct. DH, otoh, got the fight instinct. My DH does have a concealed weapon permit and does keep a loaded, locked gun in a gun case. The gun case sits on his nightstand and requires you to push a certain series of buttons to open it. Since we also have a STB toddler too, I wanted to make sure that whatever guns we had were kept locked and away from DD. When she gets older, I'll have him change the series of buttons to be pressed to something that we can remember, but not as easy as it is now. Good luck with selling your house and your search for a new one.
