Do you google prospective employees?

Crap. Go to Google and search your name. Then click on images. Let's just say I am trying to figure out why there are so many pics of me out there (and pics of people I know, that I don't know how I got tagged in).

What the hell I haven't googled myself in a while.

Damn... the google finally found me. I used to be all but invisible too. The top 6 results on my name are all me. Whitepages.com says there's only 1 person with that name in the US, and he's in California. They've got my contact info there and they know Loop's name and that we're associated.

Only one of the pictures on google images is actually me, and at least it's a good photo.

It's my last name. I have a fairly common first name, but I'm pretty sure every person in the country with my last name are my family members.

Funny thing is, it was DH's ass on the internet, not mine, but he wasn't embarrassed by it at all.

BF's name brought up some photography projects from college.

I just goggle imaged me, and not a single picture of me turns up. But, a picture of one of my college friends who is now an attorney who works across the street for me came up. Weird.

Cool! Thanks for the tip! It never occurred to me to google my name and images. When I google my name, I get a lot of ancestral photos, some of which I've never seen, as well as quite unobjectionable photos of my relatives. Also, for some reason, a goat. Quite a handsome goat, though.

Several of my distant cousins are geneology buffs and have apparently created web pages with pictures. Really cool! I can assume they are my distant cousins since everyone on the planet with my last name originated in the same small region of Bavaria, so we're all likely related. There is even a beer hall in Germany with our family name, which I did not know about, and a town, which I did know about, but now I can see pictures of it. This is very exciting!

I need to get out more.

Except for that one lady with all the beanie babies. But my girls are solidly above average. (And I'm nowhere to be found, so all is right in my world)

Page 5 of google images was worth the look. It's from an interview I gave to a newspaper back in 2005. The picture is not of me, but of the singer of the concert I was going to attend. Ah, the memories.

DN1 has a lot of images because of his work on his PhD and other educational endeavors.

They haven't found me yet. But I don't have a facebook account, a myspace account, or use twitter or blog or anything like that.

Same here - not a single image of me. But, there is an image with my brother's & nephew's name but its not them and the one with my name isn't me. Mostly its images from old genealogy sites I used to post on.

Neither do I. All the google search results of me are people finder type websites, whitepages, or newspaper articles.

I found a few ladies with my name, but none of them are me. My European first name and Middle Eastern(ish) last name is why I think there aren't that many matches.

I just googled my complete name. Did not find myself.
But there are at least 4 other people I found with the exact same spelling of my all 3 of my names born in the same year that I was!

I just googled my name and the first hits are my facebook and linked-in profiles. There's also something called mylife that's saying I'm related to all of my ex's family. Not so thrilled about that one. There's also a dentist with my name in a husband-and-wife dental practice in the midwest.

If they have a unique name, yes. I also look at the state public records - infractions, domestic violence, criminal charges, pretty much everything is out there. If they don't have a unique name I have to wait for background checks & we only do that if we're going to make an offer.
