We discovered the problem with the drywall stems from 3 penetrations in the roof - specifically the one where the gas line comes in used to leak. It's dry now which is a miracle since we've had so much wind and rain this week. So we'll wait until spring for dad to repair the roof then take out that section of drywall and replace it. I hate having that linger on my to do list but we don't have much of the supplies we'd need to do the work today.
Mom is also taking home the fabric and pillow forms to sew at home, she didn't want to do them here.
Can't wait to get all my pictures done and add the info to my blog. I also have a new shelf up in the living room to decorate!
Addint to the list: steam clean the bedroom carpet go through purses before restocking the hall closet match up and fold sheets - only keep enough to fit n the wicker chest tighten all the door hinges throughout the house finish painting and install the last door striker (finally found it!)
Of course we couldn't paint the baseboards (because it was so wet here) so now I need to do painting in the office closet, hallway and master bedroom. But that's a project for another time. When I have the energy. Which I currently do not.

Smart, I probably have 1/10th of your energy. Karma for all you have gotten done. The weather here over the last few days has been great, so, yesterday DH wanted to take our oldest Harley to the dealer for new tires and storage. (done) We did wander through the dealership. Wow, what pretty and very expensive toys. Since there now is a little extra room in the garage, he's been sorting some items and putting them where they belong. YEA! It is his domain, my car has never seen the garage, I don't go in it or use it for storage, or...well, you get the idea. I do know it's frightening in there. Finish outdoor Christmas cleanup and decorating. (done) Finish decorating the Christmas tree. (done) PUT AWAY, tree box and ornaments, etc that are not on display this year. (done) Throw away the stuff that cannot be used for something else (craft) or is just JUNK). One bag. (done) TOTALLY scrubbed out our bathroom. I soaked our shower head in vinegar (to clear out water deposits, and sanitize), washed down walls, scrubbed floor, sink, tub and toilet, and DID try the tip that I posted a while ago about using oily furniture polish on shower walls. I have to admit, it did clean the soap scum and the walls look like new. Also smells nice. I also used, later in the cleanup process, Clorox clean up spray. Beth, it works well without leaving the tub gritty. (I know you just did yours) I think I'll try it again. Black Friday I purchased a Dyson DC41 Vac. I picked it up Thursday. DH put it together yesterday. Our old vac is going to Goodwill. Sierra sheds and our old vac really was not cutting it. I'll probably drop it off next week. (But, even though I got a good deal, OMG, I feel poor. ) Today was sorting coupons, grocery shopping, paying bills, changed slipcovers, dusted, changed bedding....all the normal good stuff. Sorted recycling, cleaned off the kitchen table (again), couple loads of laundry. Doing laundry now.

dogmom- I'm also cheating this year because I've decided not to do a Christmas tree or outdoor decorations! Got a lot done with my parents here and they headed out awhile ago for home. Made Dal Nirvana and homemade Naan today and it's soooo good! Another great pinterest recipe Trying to decide what my next project should be. Here are my ideas: - sand and paint the foot chest white
- fill in nail holes and paint the newly installed baseboards
- paint the inside of the bathroom cabinets with oops paint
- start the slipcover for the loveseat
So that's where I'm stuck for now. A lot of these smaller projects shouldn't take much to finish and I don't want to begin on the guest room ceiling until January because I'll have to empty the room of all furniture and buy more white ceiling paint.

Well, I'm behind on laundry but got most of the Christmas shopping completed. The rest I can do with the kids so that helps. Sort of.
Found another pair of snowpants and shipped them to dcp with DS this morning. (If DH remembers the blue bag at any rate.)
And I've identified some toys that the kids will NOT miss, so I'm going to sneak them out this week, when I get a chance.

Tackling the paper in my office! Now that I have an empty bookshelf right behind my desk I'm using it to organize papers. Soooo many notes for my biz.
Other than that it's pretty quiet around here. I usually crash energy wise after my parents come for a visit and this time was no exception. Add to that a chiropractic adjustment yesterday and I am too sore for big projects!
It's been pretty quiet - how are all your lists coming? if needed toss the old one and make a new "before 2013" list to get through the month!
I'm going back to shuffling papers and finding some good music to fill my office!

K to Red for doing ANYTHING with newborn twins LOL! I owe the rest of you K.
Life has been just insane, I have been trying desperately to keep up. I'm good on laundry and marking LOL. I don't usually teach on Wednesdays but I did today because of my extra classes. Just two classes back to back, but then I came home, a friend stopped by for coffee and when she left I bit the bullet and marked for four hours. I'm ALL CAUGHT UP except for my first final, which I got on Monday.
Tomorrow is the last day of my semester, so I will catch on K after that. I will have a SHITELOAD of marking to do but hey, I can sleep later and mark in my PJs!!!
Also I have been getting increasingly freaked out at not having enough hours for next semester. So, tonight I applied to THREE more jobs. I'm not sure that was the smartest thing to do since I'm only missing a class or two.
PS Beth thanks for your good wishes on the library hours!

Well, I buckled down last night and folded 3 loads of laundry, washed 1 load, loaded and unloaded the dishwasher, scrubbed the small bathroom sink and cleared (mostly) the kitchen table. Oh and set up the kids St. Nick socks.
And you are so very welcome.

K for Beth and Start and Red but I still need to get Dogmom!
I finished my semester today! Yay me!!! I'm now on a very light teaching schedule for five weeks (4.5 hours a week) although I will have a TON of marking and one all-day meeting out of town.
So I'm hoping to tackle a few projects around the house (and hopefully line up some more hours for next semester).
ETA: I just emailed a friend asking if I could bring her the English books we want to get rid of, for her church book sale. I hope it's not too late!

yay K for debthaven for surviving the semester!
I just filled up my trash can with green waste one day after pickup and I haven't even started on the backyard. That's my house work for the day (aside from ever present laundry and dishes) because I'm going for a massage tonight! ;D So glad to get the kinks in my back worked out! Yesterday was a work spend as I shipped a box and got some pages printed but otherwise spent nothing! Work is really keeping me busy and I need a nap.

Thanks Smart! Enjoy the massage! Got Dogmom too! Going to bed now, planning to sleep late, and then I'll tackle my first set of finals! Also, we have dinner guests again tomorrow night. That will be the FIFTH weekend in a row with guests for either lunch or dinner (with yet more scheduled for the following weekend)! Thankfully DH is making dinner this time.

Oooh, enjoy the massage.
Well, I got a bag for Goodwill in the small bathroom. Told DH last night that he was dealing with the kitchen. He didn't argue at all as most of the dishes were from his dinner.

My to do list is to get the entire apartmetn packed to move and be ready around Jan. 3. There has been a change in the tax credit they use here so we no longer qualify for housing here and my mother refuses to move out of town. So, we are moving to a much more expensive apartment complex in town- although it is not as expensive as some.
So- my to do list for the next 3 weeks- not counting doctor's appointments, dates, church, cantata practice, etc:
Trash out Donations out Return items to stores Pack and label boxes Paperwork to both complexes Budgets, meal plans, schedules Talk to father re: car payments Make list of must haves for new apartment Clean old apartment Clean new apartment Attempt to stay sane

Sorry to hear that Miz! Could your mom qualify on her own, since you were planning on both living separately anyway (albeit in the same residence)? Best of luck to you! I slept late today but then I was a good girl and finished marking my first set of finals (in my pjs!) Our dinner guests have just left and I've already unloaded the dishwasher and put everything away.

Debt, thanks for the K, sent some to you! (Making it through the semester, YEA!, and being caught up on Marking.) That is huge! Also sent K for Saving for the start on Christmas stuff. I've kind of given up on Christmas mailings. How's the puppy search going? Hope you send pictures if/when you decide. Smart, ugh girl. I wish I had your energy. Glad you got a massage. Best wishes for your back. Red, when I energize, you're next. Miz and Beth, you're after that. (Haven't been on the boards recently, so...hope to catch up on all your K's today.) Hope I haven't forgotten anyone. Me, let's see, what's up? Finished Christmas shopping yesterday. YEA! In budget (double YEA!) Working on what charities we are contributing to this year. It is a budgeted line item, Have three that I've already sent money to, have a couple more in mind, but, more research is necessary. I hope to have that done later this week. Also on my list is wrap and possibly ship now out of town gifts. On the declutting front, last night we went to a Christmas party that we contributed our second round of toys for Toys for Tots. So, the toy space is now cleared for next year. It's raining and cold, so, I think (from the potluck thread) I'm going to try the corn casserole recipe to use with some leftovers. If it's good, then DH may be able to bring one to one of the lunches he has to go to in the next couple of weeks. Tried the new Vaccuum yesterday. Wow, it's quiet. Maybe I will vaccuum more often? Have a great day and rest of week.

Call my uncle to clear out the shed I have to vent this because today was really frustrating. My uncle called on his way over to the house (right in the middle of my lunch) and I went over. I hate that "jump when I call" expectation because he never thinks of anyone else. Then we're going through the shed which is mostly junk and his reaction is to just leave everything behind. The renters were also supposed to be out but were holding a garage sale and had their own crap everywhere. It annoys me so much because to me it's an area of personal responsibility. His attitude that "well the buyer can just deal with it, trash is trash" ticks me off. The owner isn't buying the crap left behind because you don't want to deal with it. If I moved in and had to remodel, deal with my own stuff then why would I also want to deal with all the crap you left behind? So, I spent an hour cleaning stuff up, took home 3 large totes of glassware (totes for mom, glassware went to Goodwill) and dropped off about $75 in medical equipment to my mom's best friend for her parents. My uncle's solution? Leave the door to the shed open, people will just take what we leave behind. Updated list for the week aheadVisit Grandpa Change sheets on the guest room bedLabel all my photos on the SD card Make the necklace stand for BFF's christmas gift [/x]
Pull out all glass pans, donate unused ones and organized in pantry Start at top of pantry and clean out each shelf Finish scanning cartoons and save on computer Scan calendar I've been saving Pay bills and drop off around town or mail Rake up leaves in the backyard - halfway done Work on sanding/painting the bench Trade in books and movies at bookstore

Dogmom - Thanks for the K!! I don't have to search for a dog so you could say the dog search is going well. One of my TAs families are breeders and own a Bernese mom and dad so I've been eyeing puppies ever since they found out mama was pregnant in September or October. The day before Thanksgiving she had 3 boys and 6 girls. All are healthy and well. I visited them on Thursday - held a couple. Took a picture but I don't know how to post pics here. DH and I are still up in the air about whether we want a boy or girl. There are pros and cons of each. Right now I think we're leaning boy but it's still 51-49 so nothing's for sure yet. When they get a little older I'd like DH to go over and play with them a little and see if there's one he's attracted to. That would mean more to me than deciding a preferred gender ahead of time.
I did a "just OK" job with my list this weekend. My lack of accomplishments are understandable because I have had 3 Christmas parties this weekend. I was just hoping for more to get done. Like always. I'll work on the rest of the list this week. I have to work this week plus Monday and Tuesday of the following week before I get a few days off. I can't wait. I'm beat.

My cough came roaring back this weekend. DH's too. I did a bazillion loads of laundry and it's mostly folded and put away. Picked up Christmas presents for the grandparents. Got new shoes for DD, 1 pair sneakers, 1 pair for Christmas. Which she wants to wear now (along with her Christmas dress.) I need them to be decent until Christmas. Please God? Help me out here? Forgot to go to a b-day party for my cousin on Sat. I'm a bad cousin. I'm rationalizing that no one wanted my sick ass there, esp. as cousin had leukemia a couple of years back and while she's healthy now, one never knows. The Christmas tree is up and DH and I shoved furniture around to make it fit in the living room. It still needs lights and decorations though. I'm going to try to put the lights on tonight.

been busy crafting lately I am quickly going through my stock of modge podge! For my best friend I've created two necklace holders which were black velvet and covered them in book pages (she's a bibliophile) also made more book page covered ornaments as well. Final project: took the poster I had printed at Costco and put it on a spare canvas I had. Since Costco printed it a quarter inch short I added black paint around the edge and it's almost dry and ready to hang.

Tonight was fun - went to see the new Bond film and loved it! Lots of excitement, some sad parts and amazing acting. Also, the opening credits were so incredibly beautiful! Didn't tackle anything on the list tonight, I still have a few more things to put away from cleaning out kitchen cabinets and a strand of Christmas lights burnt out so I need to haul back in the tubs. It never ends
