:)I LOVE baseball season. I can't believe I won't be in the D to watch the Tigers play this year. Today was their Opening Day and they won against the Red Sox (suck it Sox fans! ). Our Ace was on the mound and looking sharp! I am so excited about the year even if I don't get to watch them much on TV. Who is your team and are they looking promising?

Actually they were winning in the top of the 9th and then our closer gave up the tying run. So yeah, they did have to come back in the bottom of the 9th. But doesn't really matter...your team STILL LOST!!!

My oldest niece got a job working at Shea Stadium selling concessions. I hope the fans are ladies and gentlemen. She is a good young lady and doesn't need drunken idiots. Well, gee, then she chose the right place to get a job! No drunken idiots in baseball stadiums, no siree!

Yankee fan here and we'll see who's the best team!! I've been a Yankee fan for 62 years going all the way back to Joe Dimaggio's last couple of years. I also saw Ted Williams play at Yankee Stadium (the original stadium) and Detroit's Al Kaline. I love baseball, any level. I used to have season tickets to the local NY-Penn League team (short season Class A league). The nice thing about baseball is that it can be enjoyed at any level from high school to the majors.

Oakland A's fan here. Baseball last to long for me to get worked up over the standings just yet. But I wish Texas would quit winning

I really enjoy Minor League Ball. We have some teams nearby. It has the fun of the Pros without all of the expense.

But as a kid we had a "farm team" (they called them that back then) and for a while it was the NY Yankees then the Detroit Tigers (I think -- Long time ago). Used to sneak into those games cause I was dirt poor and couldn't afford a ticket

this was from the end of the Centennial celebration for Fenway Park - now the oldest park in baseball. I was there, out in the bleachers - and have a pretty bad sunburn to show for it. I haven't taken the pics off my phone to see how well they came out, they look pretty sweet on the phone screen. I'll post some back here, all the players out on the field during pre-game. basically, an invitation was extended to all living former players/coaches/managers, even if their tenure was as short as a single game. as they were introduced, they walked across the field from whatever entrance (dugout/outfield/bullpen/etc) and stood at the position they played. when all the old-timers were in place, the current roster came out to join them in the day's vintage uniforms. replicas of the 1912 uniform, complete with no numbers on the backs. it was weird to see that, but very cool.

Awesome picture, chiver! My only trip to Boston I saw Fenway from the outside. Game was sold out when I tried to get tickets, so I couldn't get in, but at least I saw it!
My first Phillies game isn't until next Saturday the 5th in DC. Then we're going to our first home game on the 7th against the Mets. I kept saying over the off-season that we were going to have a bad season, mainly because our hitting problem has been ignored for the past two seasons. I didn't think I would be right; I should have kept my mouth shut! ;D

Cheer up fam, maybe they can grab a wild card spot. I think the division's a moot point unless the Yankees implode. They are doing well though, I've seen them win games, I never thought they'd win like Saturday's.

Thanks. They are masters at getting my hopes all up and then smashing my dreams! I'd much rather see the Rays at the top but they are having their own problems. Damn Yankees!

I actually love watching baseball. Instead in the UK we play a game of rounders than baseball.

Yanks have not been hitting at all and now that the Captain is out for the rest of the season and was the only one hitting with any consistency, you can put a fork in them.
MLB really needs instant replay as not to change games.

I love what I like to call: Baseball in America in October
I love it regardless of who is playing, but as a SF Giants fan, this October is going particulary well!
