RAD (Rite Aid Corp.) (Long)
Closed Friday at $1.84

I know this is a low priced stock; but a guru told me once:
"It's all about percentages"... LOL.
Rite Aid is a chain of retail drug stores. (4,667 stores is what
I read; & they have 91,800 employees). Same store sales just
had their 11th straight month of growth. It's #3,...behind Walgreen
& CVS.
And all this time, I've been telling youse guys that I'm strictly a chartist.
But the chart does have a nice up-trend developing.

Short HOLX (Hologic Inc - Medical Appliances and Equipment)

Third week for this pick. Mainly chosen for technical reasons (the hanging man candle stick). It also seems to be overpriced with a high p/s and relatively low long term growth forecast. I have no real life position in the stock.

It looks as if my hanging man is levitating.

Kadee,.... I look at voyageur sometimes (those 15 sec.stock screens)., and RAD looked much better than some others. What I know about them is what I read on a profile. And (at the present time), the chart is trending north. RAD has hit a new 52 wk. high for 4 of the last 6 trading days. I sort of go with the "The trend is your friend". I don't remember ever being in one of their stores. We have a new CVS in this small town I'm in. And the nearest Walgreens is probably Houston. I do play golf with a retired pharmacist; but we don't talk the market very much.

Cannot believe YONG is not in last piace today... I guess there is worse than this one today.... tomorrow it may decide to slip back even more. The other Chinese agri's seem to have an advantage. Hmmm, should have traded for CGA when they were about even last month.

Oh well, losing is a natural thing for a former China small cap player (no, I am not buying more... shifting to US high income (MFA, DX, PDLI and RIT). Just have to live with my remaining shares and hope for a nice rise so I can exit)

architec, back when I worked there it stayed around $5....so I bought some. It took me 3 yrs. for it to get to $6 so I could it. Shortly after I purchased, it went down around $3. This last drop may have been a reflection of them purchasing Eckard's drug chain.
I just know that most of the longer term employees aren't happy with how they are running the stores now. Some, like here in my small town, the manager is opening and working all day long by themselves...both waiting on customers & trying to do all the rest of the work required....price changes, inventory scans, resets, etc. That is NO fun trying to do it all!

Looks like I'm in a race for the bottom this week....Mod, where did you go? You deserted the bottom?

Are you an RPh?? I used to work for Walgreen before I added an IV Pharmacy to our home health care.. Did well and sold out..Worked for Eckards one week on and one week off until my partner started to cover on his week off and they thought I should do the same thing..Made money on both stocks but KASH is KING.. Walgreen's stock paid for my Pharmacy school!!! and MRK paid for my MBA...Yes I did make money on Eckard's Bonds and invested in MRK..Eckard made us pay the same price as open market and I declined on the IPO at that Price.

It was interesting to see how the UPPER management got rich doing very little in both firms.

Found this re: YONG, which slipped a bit yesterday.
"Over the last six months, insiders were net buyers of 2,128,040 shares, which represents about 5.68% of the company's 37.48M share float."

Wonder if investors will notice this information from Kapitall on Seeking Alpha appearing today and give the horse a boost at the betting window.
