You're right, the cold and other environmental obstacles up here made all the early settler as tough as nails, and if it wasn't for the beaver pellets, we would have all frozen to death..

Started a personal crusade today. It involves a Bald Eagle family that inhabits a bay where we live. A local developer was stopped from developing his land with luxury homes because of a nesting pair of Eagles. There is a Park that goes along the Bay and that area is at the southern tip. I have no problem with the halt of this project. It's not an endangered species as admitted by the County. However the County has plans to develope pavillions..roads and trails...same land. The trails are in. The pavilion has been staked out surveyed. It's about 100 yards from where the Eagles hang out. I took my Cannon Rebel digital camera out in the woods today. Got within 20 feet of a pair of Eaglets and got some great shots. I plan to stop the project from moving forward..for all the same reasons. I would share those shots with you..but windows 7 has no drivers to support this camera. Those of you that know me on FB will see them this week. Got some radio talk guy to help me make an issue out of this.
Latter this week..ADK! Gonna hike a peak. Party in Lake Placid if anyone cares to join.

The only thing I know is that V_L copied and pasted that post a few pages back and made a crude sexual comment to me. That post is still there and my first post is gone. V_L still has an active account..my posts deleted ..been accused of illegal activity....You know...I spent some time with a few buddies of mine...they belong to a group of uh motorcycle enthusiasts...I can't help but to share their disdain for BS.

I luv how music has this way of putting things in perspective! Started a personal crusade today. It involves a Bald Eagle family that inhabits a bay where we live. Sounds like a great place for some houses over looking a waterfront park!  If the developer was smart , he would work with the county and do it as some kind of park development, that has condo fees that would look after the park; that way the maintenance wouldn't cost the taxpayers. The birds still have a home, and people learn to appreciate nature more because it's forced on them LOL! |

He just doesn't like to be strong armed by the County. It has not stopped the County from moving forward with their own development. Let's see what happens next. There is something real satisfying when you reach the summit. The timber line is at 4800ft. The landscape changes, the weather can change in an instant. We love it. Fall is my favorite season....winter....spring and summer  |

If an earthquake strikes on that fault line and it causes problems in a city. People will help, rebuild and carry on, and people will be on the Internet saying the USA caused it.

The adult Eagles were out tonight. Got some great shots. The radio person to make a fuss about it is on board. Can the Kman stop a County development? Don't know..but I'll give it a shot.
Animals have a special place with me. My ex once wanted a Pa pillion. A friend of ours was traveling in the dog show business. Very accomplished person with West Minster Champions. She called us about a dog retired from the show business..free to a good home. Pepsi the pa pillion is still around today. First thing my ex did , was to bring him to a Vet. This Vet told her that this was a very sick animal...long list of ailments..and a couple hundred bucks in meds. Suggested that this animal came from a puppy mill and should be put down. This is what I am hearing from a phone call from a hysterical mastered degrade health professional. I told that this dog is fine..are you kidding me. Let's take Pepsi to another Vet. WE did. None of those ailments existed. That SOB was gonna sell my dog out the back door for a G. Now I'm pissed. Wait till his waiting room is full. I get my hair cut next door. I don't even like to get my hair cut. Walk in...see the little SOB and tell him in front of them all that I want my money back. Oh ..I'm sorry you disagree with my diagnosis....Well I do and so does this other Vet..so reach in your pocket and hand over the cash. You guys know me and and I was very close to an assault charge here. People were leaving with their sick pets in their arms as I had this jackoff up against the wall. This guy was going to sell my dog out the back door. Every time I get my hair cut...I park in his space...I dare ya...go ahead.
