I'm NOT a birther. I'm a Libertarian; so I'm more right than left. I was just listening to a man who questions his citizenship. As far as I'm concerned... he's an American regardless of where he was born. I don't care if he was born in Kenya or Hawaii, his mother was an American citizen, so to me... he's an American. Why hasn't this issue been argued?
Who's more an American...
Barack Obama, whose mother was American?
Or, Bruce Lee whose parent's were Chinese, but gave birth to him in Hawaii or LA... but somewhere in America? Or better yet, a baby born to an illegal?
Come on now! Don't we have better topics to debate!

<<< Don't we have better topics to debate! >>> ...then why start another thread about this? There have been several. It's been argued both ways. POTUS has fought the opening of his records. So, we're still waiting...

It's been done to death..however till their dying breath they will argue it. One can just scroll, turn the station or participate with the them as to how foolish. Your call and if interested in discussing, just hang loose, I am sure as I type this , there are some here who are typing like mad to get their foolishness, my opinion, not theirs, though for some , it's not what they really believe , just the old {Hey moon , how did you fare getting that ole pot stirring smiley for us?} Pot stirring going for the sake of arguments. So hang tight, they will be along, if not already posted as I type this one. Be interesting to see if already here, and you can argue it out. For me, scroll baby, scroll though possible a smiley or wise ass comment might be forth coming. There ya go , go to it. ;D

I have always wondered about this myself. The birthers apparently are claiming that his Mother renounced her citizenship before he was born.
I completely agree with you. However, he does have a birth certificate that says he was born in Hawaii.
I suspect the people holding so fast to the argument are really racist and will use any argument they think will work to get rid of him. I guess it is better that they use the court system than a gun to get what they want.

For the poll, on the subjects page, upper and lower right has a button for new thread and new poll. They are kinda big so that might be why you missed them. For the bookmark, it sets it up to where if someone posts on the thread you get a PM or email that it has happened (guess you can set up which somehow). I asked moonbeam if there was an option to say, "Notify me unless the response is from *****, *****, or ******. If it is one of them, don't bother because I already know what it will say." She should there wasn't such an option.

Wrong. He has a "certificate of live birth" from the state of Hawaii. That is not a birth certificate, as it is not signed by an attending physician, and does not state the name of the hospital where the birth allegedly occurred. A COLB can also be obtained after the birth without corroboration of a doctor, as was the case with Obama's COLB (obtained by his grandparents).

I'm gonna have a big laugh in a few years when Cam Newton is stripped of his Heisman for all the crap he's managed to skate thru so far.

There are just too many unanswered questions to resign to the fact he is a legal American citizen. I can't remember them all but one of them was how he had traveled to Pakistan with an American passport when this was illegal at the time. Periods of time being unaccounted for in the US. There are many questions. I did not know about the COLB, I thought it was an actual birth certificate, so there is one more little problem.

Many questions were asked and the American people answered them all on November 4, 2008. Get over it.

The real questions are: 1) who paid for the trip (as Obama himself admits to being dirt poor at that time) and 2) what did he do while he was there? Of course, it's much easier for the liberals to stay on the point of the legality of the trip, so that they don't have to address the real questions...

I've never thought he is a legal citizen. No birth certificate. Videos of family in Kenya describing his birth in KENYA-- which they attended. Mother was not old enough to have spent the legally required time as an adult in a foreign country for automatic citizenship of her child by the laws of the time. Adopted by stepfather, which changed his citizenship. No record of his citizenship ever being restored. Childhood school records listing him as .. what was it.. Indonesian, or something. ALL college records sealed. Foreign student loans for college here in the USA. Multiple names used.. no record of ever changing his name back to Obama. More I can't remember.. As usual for him-- too many secrets, undisclosed info, and gray zones. I don't go on about it any more, though. Not worth it.
And, bean-- I am not a racist. I just have this thing about transparency, which Obama lacks.

The Department of State had an advisory but never banned travel to Pakistan. dosfan.lib.uic.edu/ERC/travel/cis/southasia/TA_Pakistan1981.pdf

It has never been illegal to travel to Pakistan as a US citizen.
Did some quick checking Mr. magicfat and it seems you are correct however there was a travel advisory to Pakistan at the time but it wasn't binding. However, there are many, many more things to deal with.

Dalton McGuinty Burns III

Actually, if he had done absolutely nothing since taking office the US would be better off today. That is an indisputable fact since you could not be any worse off right now save for total chaos. But that will probably come anyway.
