I haven't received ANYTHING yet. No W-2's, no 1099's, nothing for school loan interest.
I thought the deadline for all that was 01/31, so it just seems like it's getting close.
I can estimate or get on-line most of this info, but I am old school and like to have that piece of paper in hand.
Have you received any of your paperwork yet?

I received my W-2 from my job electronically and was able to download it earlier this week. Same with the 1098-E for my student loans. I'm still waiting on a W-2 from the part-time job I worked in early 2010. Since they are a financial outfit that does tax returns, I don't expect them to send it until close to the deadline. Afterall, client's paperwork comes first.

I got my W2, two of my mortgage/interest statements, and my daycare statement.
I still need another W2, all my earned interest statements and whatever comes from my investments saying whatever it says.

I believe the deadline for 1099s is around Feb 15. W2s are 1/31. 1099s are much more complicated and a continuously increasing tangled web of govt rules and regulations keep pushing this off and making it much more difficult to produce these. The industry standard cost to produce a single 1099 is $5 to $7.

We have only received our mortgage interest statement. I was told by a coworker that does HR, that our w2s will go out on Monday the 24th. We may have everything by the end of next week and can start our taxes.

I will be running W-2's for our employees next week. I had to wait for the tech person to download an update I needed. W-2 form changed b/c of the Hire Act - and we had employees who were on the hire act.
I can't remember what the other scenarios were where you might need the tax forms updated, but that is probably why some others are late.
If you are ready to do your taxes and are waiting for a W-2 you might want to ask your payroll person. I usually (not this year) have them done and don't distribute them until later in the month. I probably have very few non-itemizers so no one has even asked about them yet.
I don't have too many 1099's yet. We have 3 mortgages on 4 properties and I don't think I have 1 yet. A co-worker said he got a notice from his bank that all statements including the 1099 will be on-line in the future. So it is possible the banks are no longer mailing out the info.

I recieved my W2 and the 1098-E form for my Stafford loans. I can see the interest paid in 2010 for my Perkins loan when I check online, but the form isn't available for download yet. Same thing with my interest earned statements. I can tell I'm close to paying off my student loans because I only paid @$220 in interest in 2010. I'm used to a higher number!

I've received some of it. We typically get things past the deadline and even those statements will be revised and sent to us again later.

Oh yeah, I got the student loan 1098, but we can't deduct the interest so it really doesn't matter.

My employer (or rather, the outsourced payroll vendor) waits until the absolute legal deadline (either 1/31 or 2/1) and then they MAIL it. Very annoying, although I can do decent estimates of most amounts from my last pay statement.
Have received the statement on interest on the mortgage and the 1099 for the state tax refund last year. Brokerage will be late- something like mid-February. They always claim it's due to last-minute tax law changes they have to program. I really can't file without that detail. I guarantee that if I try to reconstruct it from the brokerage statements I'll get something that's off by $5 from what they report to the government and then I'll get a nasty letter from the IRS and have to straighten it out.

I've received nothing so far, nothing from either my bank or my employer. I'm hoping that I'll be able to file before I leave at the end of the month, otherwise I'll have to wait until I return in March.

We 2009 we bought stock in a company which I thought was a regular company. Nope. It's a "Master Limited Partnership." It's done very well for us, but they don't report on a 1099. They report on a K-1 and that won't be available until March 10. Oh well.

We've received the mortgage interest statement and a couple of interest statements. We typically received our 1099R's at the very end of January and the one I have to wait for is the retirement accounts 1099R's which we usually get the first week of Feb.
I have most of the information entered into Turbo Tax, but can't do anything until that last one comes in - and I'm never able to estimate it.
Not in any hurry since we'll be paying this year. I just need to figure out how much , but we'll send it in the first week of April.

Just one student loan interest doc and two 1099s so far. Waiting on three more SL docs and all four W-2s.

I am anal enough to make a list of all the forms I'm expecting so I know when I am missing something. This year I am expecting 17 forms, and to date I've only received 2. I give out HR credit for passing them out with our pay checks last week instead of mailing them (although the official reason was to save $$ on postage). I also have my mortgage interest form. I still need 2 W-2's, whatever unemployment reports on (I think it's 1099-G?), a bunch of 1099's (DIV and INT), and the healthcare form I need for the state - I'm in MA, and there's a form to file with your taxes that proves you've purchased health insurance for the year.
