Actually, it would be interesting to get a real news story. There wasn't anything that came up when I googled the Coplay Whitehall Sewer Authority.

Maybe a Google search on "Coplay" "paddle" "creek"?

And so it begins. We said a year or 2 ago this was going to start happening, and people said we were crazy, etc, as I remember. SO-- what then?? If your property does not meet code?? What if you are broke and cannot do repairs?? What?? A huge fine, that you cannot pay, maybe a threat of going to EPA jail next to the no insurance compliance people?? How about seize your fine from your tax return if you get one, along with your insurance fines, which, of course, fixes neither the fact that you have no insurance OR that your property is not up to EPA code, (because you are too broke to comply!)but sure puts more money in the government's hands? Guess what-- these kinds of fines will not hit the elite or the rich people, they will hit the poorer people that actually are so poor they get tax refunds that the gov't would LOVE to take back. And remember-- people were WARNED that utility bills would double or even triple if any of this global warming stuff tried to creep in... it all died off, then gov't decided to regulate through the EPA rather than try to pass laws that would NEVER pass. Next will come electric company inspections (and fines and tax hikes), gas company inspections (and fines and tax hikes), and there are people out there pushing right NOW for gasoline prices to hit Europe's so we will in fear and desperation give them whatever they want... Maybe I am wrong, but you said several of us were wrong awhile back when we posted articles saying the gov't was going to start inspecting people's private residences, also.

Not only would a law not likely pass, I don't think it is within the enumerated powers of the federal government at all. This seems clearly a state issue. The State Government should decide what inspections of its citizens it thinks are needed.

Slow down a little. There is no confirmation it is in fact happening. There is no explanation of exactly what it is about if it is happening.

Fuck the troops.
That is a couple of times now Mr. billisonboard. Is this how you spoke to your students, especially the one you constantly gave detentions to?

I never gave a detention in my career. I controlled my students by building mutual respect. (not to mention perfect proofreading skills)

I did bring a group of teachers and an administrator to a stunned silence one time when I used the phrase "Fuck'em" in a meeting. We were supposed to be working on a plan to improve discipline in our school. We were getting nowhere and the outside consultant wasn't helping much. I decided the tone of the group needed to be "adjusted" so I "adjusted" it. It shocked them into action. I turned and smiled at the consultant. She nodded, smiled back, and left.

We need to remember that what is posted has an impact on the community. If the language is less than desirable why would people want to post here? Do you want to build the community, or destroy it? Food for thought.
Oh, and bickering is unattractive too. Why would anyone want to post then chance running into one of the sharks that troll the board? Again, food for thought.

Hey baby cakes, welcome to the P&M board. You are so correct in your statement that what is posted has an impact on the community. Why do you think that I selected the words that I used. Food for thought.

This is not your forum, it is a community forum. A twenty year old with a nic of Baby Cakes who finds some words to be "less than desirable", bickering "unattractive" and offers "food for thought" might not be a brick with which to build a community in which politics is the topic of discussion. Just my take on things.

Slow down a little. There is no confirmation it is in fact happening. There is no explanation of exactly what it is about if it is happening. Slow down a little? You have got to be kidding me. Uncoded, this statement says, Wait a minute. The truth of the government walking all over your Constitutional rights has not been fully exposed to the whole country yet. And, when it is fully exposed, we need to "wait" to hear what their spin will be to justify breaking the law (U.S. Constitution) at their leisure. I have a better idea. Pennsylvania stand up and fight back! Take to the streets in protest NOW, or you may not be able to by 2012. Obama is completely bypassing Congress by passing one Executive Order after another. He is passing his "Cap & Trade" through Executive Order right under your noses. Stand Up NOW in protest to this completely out of control government before it's too late!!

Don't worry Mr. billisonboard, "baby cakes" has been around here before. The baking forum might be more her style though.

Stay Put has the right idea. No under the table cap and trade, or as I always call it, crap and tax. We said NO, remember??? We said it so clear and loud they did not even attempt to do it in the open, now here they come. First Pennsylvania, then my house in AZ-- which will most likely flunk EVERYTHING because it and all its appliances, wiring, and plumbing are old, which is not ILLEGAL! Time to turn, once again to the old "When they came for the Jews..." idea.

I too was concerned when I saw this article, traelin. What are they looking for in peoples homes? Information on the owners?Where they keep their guns? The government is oversteping for a reason.
