I wanted to create a place to post random things that inspire me. Enjoy. Resolutions seem like an afterthought for me this year, let's just instead search out a few moments of ridiculous happiness and not think too hard on where we'll find them

“Tell your heart that the fear of suffering is worse than the suffering itself. And that no heart has ever suffered when it goes in search of its dreams, because every second of the search is a second’s encounter with God and with eternity.” The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho

Drops of water alone are unable to accomplish the extraordinary feat that massive amounts of tiny droplets can do when united. The power of water has always amazed me.

Sometimes the sky belongs to me And wraps me in infinity Sometimes it turns the other way And hides itself in clouds of gray Some days the sun consoles my fears And lifts the wetness of my tears Some nights the stars and moon embrace The sorrow written on my face And lay a sheet of silken weave Upon the pillow where I grieve When stars have nowhere else to be Sometimes the sky belongs to me -- Elizabeth Santos

Reality is ungraspable. For convenience we use a limited-reality consensus in which work can be done, transport arranged, and essential services provided. The real reality is something else--only the strangeness of it can be taken in...

As I drove into Kentucky last fall I saw view that was similar to this. I am wishing that I had stopped to take a photo or two as the view certainly had me speaking out loud to myself in the vehicle!

Nice thread apple, may I offer
If you're not being treated with love and respect, check your price tag. Perhaps you have marked yourself down. It's YOU who tells people what you're worth by what you accept. Get off the clearance rack and get behind the glass where they keep the valuables! LEARN to value yourself more! If you do not, no one else will..!

As a small child my parents taught me to look at things. Not just to see the world around me but to be conscious understanding it. In other words they taught me how to appreciate beauty. The first time I became aware of seeing something in this way was when I was about five, in the Picasso Museum in Antibes. I became fascinated by a line Picasso had drawn and saw that a line could be made to describe something better than words. Of course as a child, you have to draw a hundred lines in order to approximate what you want to say because you hardly know how to speak in any language. So I was shocked to see that with just one line Picasso had said everything he wanted to say. It was a picture of a dove and a not a masterpiece perhaps but astonishing to me. Famously, many people said of Picasso at the time “A child could do it...” But the point is rather that a child could understand it, because Picasso’s art speaks the language of the child through the adult eye. I suppose that I was learning to draw, myself, and the dove was done with crayon or pastel the kind of thing a child uses...but for whatever reason it stayed with me and what it awakened has never slept since.
