3Cats - yay for the new computer, boo for murphy. Sorry he's pestering you this week.
Definitely a spendy weekend. Both blue and I needed new sneakers as we are working out more and ours were probably over two years old. We bought them before the wedding. But we got both pairs for under $70 at the outlets, so go us. We also bought our niece's birthday present (yay coloring books!) and a small shower gift for my cousin's fiancee. I got invited to ANOTHER shower/bachelorette in March, and it's for someone I never see because she lives far away, so I will of course be going. Can't wait to hang with her again, and hopefully she'll be moving back to the east coast soon after her wedding (one of my many in May). We also did some home improvement work, spackling and sanding around our new window. We'll paint that next weekend, and stain the window itself the weekend after that. We also finally replaced the stupid dangling light in our living room (we call it the UFO because, well, it kind of looks like one). So now we have a light fairly flush to the ceiling, which means I can now work out in there without fear of smashing my arm into a light. The new light was $20, and money well spent, imho. We did have a gift card to cover the light, but not the spackle, etc. So spent maybe $15 there. Also hit up the grocery store for $70. I really need to pay more attention to sales and buy more frozen veggies, but I find them so mushy when I try to stir fry them so that doesn't really work I guess.
Hope you all had a good weekend. I wish it wasn't Monday. Blah.

3cats- I think you need your computer for your sanity.
I intend to get to my blogging next month.
My aunt told me that my mother will be easier to live with once the carp with her truck and the estate is straightened out. The appraiser is dragging his feet and my aunt just lit a fire under his a$$.
My best friend N's FIL is currently Hospice Stage for lung cancer- she is like a big sister to me- please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

Update: 26 NS/CS days
I can't believe that four years ago I became a member of this group so today we celebrate my 4th anniversary with you ladies. Some of you were here prior to my joining this group. I lurked for a few months before feeling comfortable enough to post at the old board. It was a place where I came when I was facing those nights after the loss of my DH. I spent a lot of time on random sites before I stumbled on the WIR sites. Again I read a lot of the threads before I felt comfortable enough with this group to even think about joining. We have experience a lot of activities during that time -- babies, weddings, lots of new friends, secret Santas, and in some cases vacations.
Thank you all for what you have added to my life.

11 NSD Yesterday I got home from work and we went to the dog park, so I also got some exercise. Then home. We had forgotten to take anything out for dinner last night, so the roomie made a nice marinara sauce and put that over pasta- quick and easy. Yay for staples. I also helped DH with his abstract algebra. He learns better when he can talk to people about things, but I need to understand what he's actually talking to me about, so I sat down and did some of the algebra too. I told him when we were done that he was lucky I liked math and loved him. (I'm actually really good at algebra, but it's been a long time since I was in a math class.)
redwagon: the little home improvement dollars stack up, but they really are worth it. When my dad was here this summer, we replaced a number of our light fixtures and he helped with some rewiring. The dollar pain lasted only that one month. My joy at having light for the whole stairwell lives on.
moneysquirrel: Happy anniversary! I think next month (ie tomorrow) is my 2 year anniversary, so you've been here twice as long as me. I am very glad that I've gotten a chance to know you here.

shenen - very very true! and happy anniversary!!
money - happy anniversary! I've only been here a smidge longer than you have. So glad to have "met" you on here!
I think I finished out the month with 7NS days (I do "grazing grocery shopping" a lot these days ie get today's dinner stuff today. bad me). And 10 MOANing days. I better see results at WW tomorrow!

Definitely need to do my tally, yesterday was a spend day for a few reasons. a) I need a red sweater for one of the parties next week and had deluded myself into thinking I owned one. Nope. So off to find one I liked. b) my buddy and I are teaming up to bring some client love to our group party and I picked up some supplies. Not too spendy but still a spend.
Today should be a NSD, I want to drop off sheets and the new shadowbox for Grandpa, take flowers out to Grandma's grave, recycle strawberry baskets at the co-op, do laundry, finish packing, do dishes, vacuum, plant bulbs, cut back roses, work for 8 hours, chat with blue, scan pictures and finish shredding papers. None of which cost money!
finish the month strong ladies! I always think of holding off at the end of one month only to start the next with a few spends. This time I'm going to think of everything I might need to buy before my trip and plan it on one day.

Hey everyone! I'm so sorry I dropped off the face of the planet this month, but real life grabbed hold and wouldn't let go. The short version: I dumped Mr. Potential for good after he decided that it was perfectly ok to pull a disappearing act for a MONTH then pop back up like nothing had happened. BFF and sorta-nephew moved in 3 weeks ago after her hubby pulled a stunt that I would call unforgiveable. They'll be living with me for the foreseeable future. And one of my regular customers (one of the few regular customers that is a guy) asked me out on a date. Turns out he's not married, old, or gay. Go figure. It's going swimmingly with him because we have eerily similar interests and personalities.
I'm now into my third year with you all, and I'm going to take a break for a month or two. I will be back, I just need to focus on my little instant family and new man and all of that for a while. I'm thinking of all of you. Please keep me and those in my life in your thoughts as well, there seems to be a lot of pain and sickness and turmoil going around this winter.
Lots of love, reenee

update; 27 NSD, 2 NEO, 2 SD. I think it is 4 years for me tomorrow since I joined this group. We have gained a few and lost a few. Some didn't come to this thread from the other so I don't know how they are doing. Maybe I will make that one of my goals for this year; to write to the ones that are not here with us.

Yep MK, I joined in Feb because, well, it was the shortest month and I wasn't sure I could stick with it! Four years later....
Today was weird on many levels, the day has been immensely long, it's 9:30 here and I haven't had dinner yet. I'll write more on the Feb thread once I get my numbers done

Totally haven't kept track this month. It is so funny to me some people blow money away like there is no tomorrow. Going to the Mall of America and spending $100 seems like going overboard to me. And of course that was all on the kids. I have money that I am supposed to spend only on myself and well that is so much harder to do. Although I think I am going to purchase a new pair of diamond earrings, I lost one so I want a pair back, especially since it is DD's birthstone.
Yesterday went to my grandma's place and did some cleaning out. Man the woman has so much stuff and you don't know what is crap and what is good stuff. My sister and I split up a cordial set with decanter. Turns out it is Nachtmann Traube and worth a lot of money, I can't even find the set we have. The decanter is cranberry with 6 glasses all in different colors. It is beautiful. I also have a haviland platter but don't know which pattern it is.
So will be going back soon. Oh and she hid stuff so you have to go through EVERYTHING! Like the pages of every book as she used to hide money in them until a "friend" of hers got caught looking/stealing it. DGM cut her out of her life and never spoke to her again after that.
3cats: Happy you got a laptop and pretty cheap. Sorry to hear about Murphy! How is work going?

I actually started as redshikari in Nov/December 2007, then changed my name because so many ppl IRL know me as redshikari and I'd mentioned the board to a few people. I remember because I broke a crockpot as I was trying to cook blue our 3rd anniversary dinner and coffeegirl yelled at me (nicely) for buying all new ingredients to make an all new meal instead of making due with what I had. I think we ultimately ordered out... And I remember all this because this was while blue was "reevaluating what he wanted from our relationship" which means I was an emotional wreck. And this group really helped me focus on something other than the possibility of losing blue. And now we're hitched and planning a family. So thanks!

I think I joined for good last year and lurked the year before that.
Even though I have always been MizBear- I have considered changing my screen name a few times. I too could be easily tracked down.
