I would love to know if anyone buys the Vanilla Visa at RA today, and gets the $20 UP. TIA Frugalsuz has a picture on her blog of the one that is giving the Up. Several people are saying that the cards they purchased yesterday evening (that matched the ad), did NOT produce the UP.

Oh, ok...all I heard was something like the $100 card doesn't work, you have to buy the one that you can add any amount to and put $100 on it, but I have't paid all that much attention to the deal. Hopefully someone else can confirm.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!! My papers were a mixed bag. There were 4 inserts this weekend. I got the RP, P&G plus 2 SS's. But I only got 2 different ones tops per paper plus the RP that was mailed. The strangest part is even the same inserts don't have the same coupons in them. One papers coupons is even crappier than the others. In all three papers I didn't get even one of the Finish or Nivea coupons. I am thinking of sitting this week out at CVS. I only have the pantene coupons. The only thing we need is the heat protetection but CVS doesn't seem to sell it. It just doesn't seem worth is since I would have to pay $16+tax to get 8 shampoos I don't need to get a $10 GC. I really wanted to do the Finish deal next week but I didn't get any coupons for it in any of my papers so that is probably out too. > I guess I should stop whining and be thankful for everything I already have. Beachbum, Do you want to get the Nivea lip balm at CVS? I don't have CVS and I have (1) $3/2 mq and (3) $1/1 IPs for the Nivea lip balm. You can have them if you want. If you don't I'll offer them to anyone else on the board. thanks you sooo very much Leanna! I think I will pass this week though. I am thinking this may be a sign to just take a week off from things like this and let us use up what we already have. It is not a huge MM and we do have plenty of lip balm. Thanks sooooooo very much for the offer though!

Reverse Hound Alert - anyone want a promo code for $10 off $50 macys.com? you can also get 3% back using ebates and probably something similar using mypoints or similar shopping sites. it doesn't say can't be used with any other promos so i'm sure there are other promo codes out there (check retailmenot.com if there aren't any on ebates, etc.) you can use with it. if interested send me a PM with your email addy & i'll forward the email. i got the code for redeeming $ on e-rewards that were going to expire so this will not be a multi-use code.

NAG (Not About Groceries): Hi guys, since I know a lot of you have free or freap BBQ sauce in your pantries, I thought I would share a recipe that I love from thepioneerwoman.com. "It's what's for dinner" here tonight:
Ingredients 2 pounds Ground Meat (beef, Bison, Turkey) Salt And Pepper 4 Tablespoons Butter 1 whole Large Onion, Diced 1/2 cup Whiskey 1 cup Barbecue Sauce 1/4 cup Jarred Jalapeno Slices (more To Taste) 12 whole Slider Buns Or Dinner Rolls, Split Preparation Instructions Form the meat into 12 (or so) miniature patties and salt and pepper them on both sides. Melt the butter in a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the patties until just about done in the middle, approximately 3-4 minutes per side. Remove the patties from the skillet and set aside. Drain off all but 2 tablespoons of grease, then return the skillet to the stove. Throw the diced onions in the skillet and stir to cook, about 3 minutes. Pour in whiskey (be careful if you're cooking over an open flame; turn it off momentarily to be extra careful) and stir. Allow the whiskey to reduce by half, about 2 to 3 minutes, then stir in jalapenos and the barbecue sauce. Reduce the heat to low and place the patties in the barbecue sauce, turning to coat. Allow the patties to simmer in the sauce until everything's hot and bubbly. Place the patties on individual buns and be sure to spoon extra sauce (with the jalapenos!) over the top of each one before topping with the other half of the bun.
P.S. I leave out the jalapenos, b/c I don't like their taste. P.P.S. I wouldn't use Turkey alone, as you do need some fat, I use Turkey mixed with 85/15 ground beef.

And my neighbor will probably give me hers so that should be (4). No Pepsi drinkers here - they are yours. PM me with your address, ok? I'm sure I have it in an old msg, but don't want to go searching for it.

I didn't know there were different kinds of these cards, but personally, I'd rather of had it not work in order to get a $20.00 Rite Aid giftcard that was being offered to some of the people whose UPs didn't print. I have heard that you can't roll your new UPs the same day you receive them but I didn't try to roll anything yesterday.

The not rolling ups the same day has been stated as a "false rumor" on the RA FB page. I was on the fence about the Vanilla card, but I don't want to mess with my store or customer service, to "maybe" get the $20 GC or wait for $20 in UPs.

From MFA regarding RA giftcards:
Reader Endcapps was in her store this morning and they were putting up signs indicating that the gift cards are no longer part of the promotion.
I don’t know if that will apply to every store or just her store but if you were planning to try this deal, you might call ask and ask so you don’t waste a trip.

STAPLES REWARDS QUESTION
Frugal Suz or anyone who does Staples rewards if you could answer a question for me. the Avery HD binders and the legal/letter totes. I have 2 sale ads with the $5/$25 of purchase. I know if I use it they will subtract it from my rewards.
If I got them in separate orders and got $5 of something extra how would that be treated. Would they count the extra $5 of merch for the $5/25 off and give me the entire amount left for the binder as rewards?
EX 4 Binders 8.99 ea.............$35.96 plus something....................5.00 total........................................40.96 minus $5/$25..........................35.96 plus tax. Will I get the full $35.96 in that ex back in rewards or would they just give me $30.96 in rewards? Thanks to anyone who can help me!!!

Misspt (or anyone else who knows) what RR means and how do you get coupon packages from a tube of toothpaste? So, I looked at CVS flyer and the only items that I would buy that qualify for Free $10 CVS cash are Bounty papertowels, Dawn and Always. So, if I get two papertowels (19.98) + two Always (6.00) and five Dawn (4.95) for the total of $30.93 I will get a $10 GC. Somehow it just doesn't sounds like a great deal compared to what I have been reading on here Lena

Lena: RR= register reward which is the "bucks" you get at Walgreens for future in store purchases, but not on the same product that gave you said RR.
The CVS deal is not a great deal. There will definitely be better deals on PT, Always, and Dawn. You should register your CVS card with your email address to get the $4/20 welcome coupon if you haven't yet, then your deal would look like this if you have 4 sets of coupons from this weekend (all coupons listed are from the P&G):
Total: 30.93 minus 4.00/20 minus 2.00 (.50 x 4 b/c you bought the hand renewal) minus .50 (.25 x 2 Bounty Qs) minus 2.00 (if you bought always pads not pantiliners) OOP: 22.43 with $10 CVs cash back is not terrible, but by including say the Pantene, etc, you could get your total lower if you really needed the Always OR the PT... HTH

Somehow it just doesn't sounds like a great deal compared to what I have been reading on here Lena Lena first of all you can be a little under the amount needed to earn a reward at CVS adnd still get the reward. For CVS $10 GC you would only need to buy $29.40 so you can drop one of the Dawn det's and still qualify for the GC. If I was going to do that deal I would buy 4 of the dawn renewal using 2 $1/2 MC's, from this past weekends P&G insert, plus two $1/1 always pads MC, plus two $1/1 bounty MC. So for me it would look like this. bounty (19.98) plus 4 Dawn Hand ren (3.96) plus 2 Always (6.00) for a total of $29.94 Minus $6.00 in man coupons for a final of $23.94. plus get a $10 gift card. For a quick idea of how that makes it a deal or not mult by 66% That is your final after GC price. So it would all "cost" $13.94. Is that a good enough deal to make you interested? Only you can answer that question. FYI make sure when doing the mult by .66% you don't count the GC percent savings more than once. So I used the savings now to find out the total savings but can't use it as savings when you use the GC to purchase anything else. HTH

HTH I don't think she'd need 5 Dawn, only 4. It should be close enough to trigger the gift card. Also, depending on your inserts, it could be a little better deal. My P&G always is $1/2 Bounty. Still not a great deal...depends on whether you need those items now or not.

Good idea on the $4/20 or $5/$25 coupon Miss PT!
I did my senario without it but if you could score one of those coupons with a dummy email acount it would make the deal a pretty good one IMO
One other thing. Unless you actually need 4 Dawn dish det you can buy things like the Always in odd amounts. If you buy 3 say and use 3 MC's and only buy 1 of the dawn you will still get the GC and possibly get more of things you will use in the near future. JM2cents

Thanks misspt and beachbum - that helps a lot!
I am out of town, so will have to review Sunday's coupons to see if I have those coupons. Also, I will have to see the sq footage on Bounty to see if it's a good deal.
I don't use Pantene, so wouldn't be buying that.

I don't buy things I don't use, so will use all those 3 items. I have a stockpile of all of them, but lately it seems that companies keep decreasing sizes of their product, so I want to keep stockpiling household products and whatever else I can, if it makes sense.
