On one of the sports pages I saw the photo of a young lady standing by a paraski. She had been disabled and was an Olympian. She took a nasty fall. As she recovered, she was able to walk again.
If you know of a miracle and are thankful for it, we are interested.
The one that blows me away everytime is looking into a newborn babies eyes.

I am very awed by miracles..
There's a friend of mine who was diagnosed with liver or kidney cancer (I can't remember which).. The day of her surgery after being opened, the doctor's were totally baffled. There was no cancer. This was just last year. Every time I think of it I am awed once again.

Artemis, I consider me being back in my warm home a tiny miracle after a very long outing with my dad. I've been in and outdoors in the cold most of the day..

I'm thankful you are back in the warm.
I took an on line class called A Course In Miracles. It was condensed from the study course but very informative. To the Trinity, all miracles are the same whether it's a surpise healing to a happy coincidence.

Tripledogdareyapalmbeachpaul survived a rip tide. See EE thread for details.
A woman in the check out line at the grocery store said her depression has been cured by the birth of her granddaughter.

An 88 y.o. man won the prizeword puzzle at $1000. This puzzle is nearly impossible to get right and they try to trip a person up. Three peeps were rescued from a snow bound car after a couple of days. The parent had pneumonia but the child was fine. Two peeps were rescued from an overturned car in a slough which prevented their drowning. In my search for miracles, they are really showing up. A good person called the local student loans dept. at a local bank and asked them to screeen for someone needing help paying their student loan. Criteria was they had been trying to pay and requested a reduction, was working, had children and unusual circumstances. The $780 covered a full year of payments.

My GGS took a nap on my couch, undisturbed, and woke up on his own without crying.
The cancer treatment for my brother have reduced the size of one tumor and the other is gone. Three more treatments to go. He has several nurses that check in on him or I would have been the caregiver.

I consider my kids to be my miracles. Took me years to conceive, and was thrilled when DD was born. The funny part was, when I found out when I was expecting DS, our second child, the doctor asked me if I knew when I might have conceived. DH & I were working opposite shifts at the time, so I knew which 2 days that month we'd "tried". I circled the dates on the calendar for the doctor, and she told me it was "impossible" for me to have gotten pregnant on either of those days. ;D Who says mircles don't happen anymore?

I agree babies are miracles and gifts that keep on giving.
No idea what the exec was thinking. As long as the babies are healthy, loved and cherished. That's what matters.

All of the beautiful weather across the northern tier is a miracle. I don't think there has ever been a warm winter like this one. I know the snow type businesses are hurting but all of everything else is living easy.

Great thread!
I have a miracle story I’d like to share. Some of you may know that when my DD was very young she was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and her prognosis was far from good.
My sweet baby girl went through years of chemo, the worst being the initial bombardment which was harsher than usual because she did not go into remission easily . We were starting to search desperately for marrow matches. DS who is 2 years older than DD was always by her side when he could be, when she wasn’t immune compromised. They two of them had been the best of buddies before she got sick so he was missing her a lot. At 4 years old he must have gleamed information here and there as to what was going on.
Fast forward a few DD chemo filled years and DS is in grade 3. The teacher asks the classroom if anyone knows what a miracle is. DS shoots his hand up in the air and the teachers lets him share.
He said “I know what a miracle is!, my sister, she’s a miracle!”
And she is. The teacher teared up when she told me, as did I.

T.Y. for providing the exit ramp in the blizzard as an escape from hazardous driving conditions and a path back home. I remember you told me you made it snow as fast as you could to keep me in a town. My reply was next time close the road even if it's fair weather. You closed the road then played the song on the radio to tell me why. I am grateful for that miracle. I am grateful that the last chance cancer treatment shrank my brothers lung tumor to the point where the last bit can be lazered out. And the MRIs/CT scans are clear. Now I this bro changes his way with other peeps, i.e. treats them more kindly.

Artemis Thank you for this GREAT thread! I'm enjoying reading it! And very happy to hear your brother is doing much better! and thanks to everyone who has posted so far! I have a question: How is cancer diagnosed? Why can't they diagnose it sooner? A friend of mine just died from stomach cancer, she was only diagnosed a few months ago

How is cancer diagnosed? That is a tough question and varies as much as individuals. The most common is being found during a routine physical examination. Routine mammograms. Self-exams. Melanoma can be scanned for at a dermatologists office. As a matter of routine, people are supposed to check their moles and other spots even between the toes and in the hair for new spots. Many times, ignored discomfort or pain is a warning. My aunt treated herself for recurring stomach flu; and it was pancreatic cancer. There is a blood test that can check for cancer in the blood but I know very little about it. Here is more information. www.cancer.org/Cancer/CancerBasics/signs-and-symptoms-of-cancerI am sorry for your loss. Every family has been touched in some way by cancer.
