startsmart: I am probably weird in that I don't drink. Not sober due to any problems with alcohol, but more of a strange physical issue. I don't get a buzz. After about a drink and a half I get nauseous and hot and clammy. I don't find even a minutes enjoyment out of drinking alcohol. So I don't. I have maybe one drink a year if that. Sorry- not much help for your informal survey. DH enjoys eggnog but he doesn't add alcohol to his. He was raised by alcoholics so he doesn't drink either. He is hyper-aware of his family's history and his own issues pre-Sheila so he doesn't drink at all.

lol, you all know me well but I should clarify that it doesn't have to be an alcoholic drink. Right now my favorite is spiced apple cider, warmed in the microwave. Hmmm. I also started a small crockpot with cinnamon, oranges and cloves to make the house smell yummy. Second crockpot has the beginnings of chicken tortilla soup which I'm now remembering I forgot to add the chicken and the tortillas to. that should answer your question red about remembering to eat...

hahahaha. two necessary ingredients, I imagine Weighed in today at WW and am holding steady. Kind of amazed I didn't gain, given how I've eaten over the past week, and that I haven't weighed in in a month. This means if I actually follow the plan for once I might (gasp) lose weight! Got lots of new materials today as they rejigger the plan again. Maybe that will motivate me. Zumba tonight, at any rate!

yeah, I'm a little scatterbrained today. I did add the tortillas (which will fall apart and thicken up the soup) but the chicken I was going to use smelled questionable.
I'll add chicken from the one I cooked yesterday if I get a chance. I use chicken stock so it's still good without the actual chicken meat.

I really like the Stephen's Pumpkin Spice and Caramel Apple drink mixes- just add to hot water. A little milk with the pumpkin spice is good. Do NOT add milk to the caramel apple (that goes badly).
As for not quickie drinks, we buy honeycrisp cider and throw it in the crockpot with oranges (or tangerines) and some cloves and cinammon sticks. Sometimes we add a little brandy. Sometimes not. One year we made hot buttered rum, and everyone like it, but not enough that we want to put the effort in to it again.

Update: 5NSD and 2 CSDJust a quick drive by to say hello. Hope all are doing ok. I am in the midst of exam prep and make up work -- good news is I have 7 more school days before break and 4 of those are half days. Of course I do have about 300 exams to correct before I get to the end. I am feeling much better and plan to continue my routine to rid myself of the leftover cough. Mostly bothers me at night or first thing in the morning. Well back to powerpoint and excel tests.

dakota - Possibly. We'll just have to see. red- Yeah the IUD was going to come out, it just came out sooner than expected. I got into to see the NP today on a cancellation and got my IUD removed. It is a big relief.

muttley: Doesn't sound like fun, but I am glad it is all taken care of. My sister tried an IUD and reacted to it. Of course my sister is also a hypochondriac or ill all the time....
Drinks: We just do wine. I will have some store bought egg nog but don't drink much because of the calories. Although we have been known to do one of those tubs of drinks where you just add a bottle of alcohol, freeze and use a ladle to get out of the bucket.
Had a good time last night. Went to my autism support group's potluck. It was fun to sit around in a more relaxed atmosphere and chat with everyone. Next month we will have a regular meeting which I will also be happy about.
Been very busy the last few months, although next month is going to be busy also has DS#2 will need to be re qualified for his waiver so lots of meetings with his social worker, public health nurse, our planner...... Oh and I already have one meeting on the calendar for his school.

startsmart: I guess the only wintery type drink we drink is Hot Chocolate. We don't go for the crazy flavors and things. Just regular old "milk chocolate" with marshmellow and/or whip cream on top.
I am really boring beverage wise. I drink 8 ounces of oj in the morning and then water all day long with an occassional hot chocolate. No soda, no wine, no beer, no milk, nothing too exciting.

Winter drinks- Spiced apple cider, maybe some hot chocolate and a butterscotch martini, thanks to reds suggestion. Though not this year, since I'm determined to be in the 160's for Christmas and have 2.5 pounds to go!

Update: 3 NSDs
Holiday drinks: I don't drink alcohol much, but I love egg nog and peppermint white chocolate around the holidays. My DH offers to make me hot chocolate just about every evening. ;D Hot cider is good, too, but I hardly ever have it.
I'm a little late on the pinterest discussion, but I was excited to read you guys talking about it. I just read about it in a magazine a few days ago and then a couple days later I read about it in a book too. I want to check it out. I like the idea of it much better than having vision boards all over the house. I don't like clutter, but I do like visual motivation. I will likely use it to help me in my career/life aspirations. I also love red's idea of pinning nursery ideas to a board. I am at least one to two years out from TTC, but I think that's a great idea to enjoy baby thoughts without jumping the gun and getting pregnant.
The job search has been pretty fruitless so far, and I am trying to figure out what it is I would really love to do and how to make it happen. If anyone else is kind of in the same boat, I really recommend Jack Canfield's book The Success Principles. I can hardly put the thing down and read the first 250 pages before putting it down once when I first started it.

crazy productive day so far and still more people who want to know if I ever sleep. For the record: no. Yesterday was a spend day, I got groceries and made soup instead of going to the networking event and spending time and gas and paying for parking. I've got so much to follow up on right now I need to close sales before gathering more leads for my business. Pinterest is a little like virtual shopping. You can say "oo I like that" and "get it" without spending anything. It's my way of virtual window shopping for cool stuff. Then I usually pick up stuff at Salvation Army to recreate whatever it is I like for pennies. Like the $1 produce hanging baskets (3-tiers, usually used for potatoes and onions) which I'm going to use in the garden next spring. There's also a good amount of recipes, photography ideas and cleaning tips

Update: 7 NSD/CSD so far and 5/30 restaurant points
Crazy busy here - worked about 40 hours in my 3 days in NY and another long day today. I've got to move some stuff off my plate and onto someone else. Unfortunately another person resigned today so we'll be even MORE short staffed!
Holiday party is this weekend - I need to tweak the menu to cook less (just no time), wrap gifts and stash stuff in the kitty/junk room so the cleaners can clean up and we can set up stuff. DH is recovering from another cold - luckily yesterday was the worst of it (knock on wood).
Back in NY next week for a couple of days and need to squeeze a couple days off into the schedule to take time for me and burn of use or lose leave. I've calculated that if this pace slows down 25% and stays constant (any more and I'll drop dead) I can take the entire last quarter of calendar 2012 off at my job with pay. Assuming my head does not explode first!
azmom - glad you could make use of the scrap book materials - if you (or anyone else) want more/some let me know. I'll be making another pass through my stuff in the spring and it will need a new home. For whatever reason even on freecycle it isn't very popular.
favorite drink at the holidays - tall white chocolate mocha from starbucks - I usually don't get mocha/whipped cream drinks and even though this is available all year I just love having at x-mas time!

Hey all. Tired MK here today. DS#2 was up at 5 am. I SO hate it when he wakes early especially on a day when he doesn't have to go to school. Seriously HOW can I have to wake him up every day for school and then when he doesn't have school he is up extra early! Just sux. I am NOT a morning person.
I bought one of the holiday lego sets and DS#1 put it all together. It is cute and I figure we will take it apart and put it together every year so worth the money. This weekend we will be decorating. The den and DS#2's floors will be done next week and the rest on the main level will be done after the New Year.
Yesterday was a spend day but ended up taking DS#1 out to McDonald's after Karate since that was a reward for him going without giving me a hard time. After he gets his next stripe he will get another reward so that could be as soon as next Monday.
Was angry at mom but worked it out in an adult manner. That was difficult not to lash out but I didn't and things went much better for it. She actually apologized.
Hoping to get my Xmas cards out next week. I want to put a picture of the family in them. And that has been challenging to get. I do have all my Xmas shopping done just need to get it wrapped. Can't do that until next week when DS#2's flooring has been done and I can get the stuff out of our bedroom and back into his.
Oh and I sent my renter and cease and desist calling me letter. That has been REALLY nice. She is the biggest pain in the butt renter I have EVER had. Will be glad to be rid of her. Sad part is she gets everything from the government yet she wants everything perfect and to complaine about everything.

i am displeased with today. it has been one steady stream of disappointing news. first, i have bronchitis and now have a slew of drugs to take. second, i learned i am getting seriously screwed by an advertiser. third, well, let's just say it's going to take me longer to get business because of this. and fourth, i have so much work to do that i can't even take a nap and rest which is really what i should be doing. this all couldn't come at a worse time. dd's birthday party is on sunday and i have to make the cupcakes, which is a day long event and we're supposed to take her to see santa tomorrow.
at least there's a roseanne marathon on tv.

The move is still going on. The furniture is here, I'm still sick, DB didn't come pick up the stuff he was supposed to, my help got sick on their only day off from work, MommaBear's CT contrast made her sick... On the good side- the cemetary dried out for a day so they could bury DGM, my electric bill is 1/3 of what I budgeted, DM has been approved to move in with me. Holiday drinks- I don't generally drink because heavy drinking is a trigger with my bipolar disorder- so I have to be very careful who I drink with. I tend to stick with hot chocolate, tea or coffee- sometimes a good chai. One of my foster moms made a delicious non-alcoholic eggnog. I like hot apple cider- non-alcoholic is fine. Mulled wine is good sometimes but I generally drink the same things year round. Although coffee with booze is quite yummy. My cousin closest in age to me- she and I sat up all night one year after we both turned 21 and got plastered on alcoholic coffee drinks that we made up. My uncle (her dad) said he had never seen people drink their hangovers away as they got drunk. hootie- If that clicking your heels and repeating the "I will not get fat" mantra works- you will be THE most popular man on this board. Christmas cards and secret santa are going out this weekend. My secret santa will get their card in their gift look for a postmark from MD. I went practical with all the craziness going on. Everyone take care of themselves. HUGS.

I have been AWOL because the intestinal flu flying through the community tagged me last Tuesday. The Doc says I still have 3-4 days to go. Thought I would get bunches done since I was more or less chained to the bathroom. NOT! I didn't even get all of my bills paid yet, let alone my cards addressed. Check back in when I feel human again.

I got all my Christmas cards out on Wednesday and all my presents out today (including Secret Santa gift)! I'm so excited to be done so early this year and to be able to avoid the dreaded post office. Today though, I was only in line for about 2 minutes which was totally awesome! We're going to decorate this weekend and I already got Santa photos last week that turned out super, super cute. I also picked up the ornaments I had made of the girls foot prints today so overall it was a very productive day but also a spend day I'm off to go relax for the evening since DH has baby duty tonight . Have a good weekend everybody!

Updating earlly this morning before I get myself moving. I have no idea what today will bring. Need to get to the grocery and suspect non-list items will hit the basket.
Will try to check in later this weekend.

SES - I hope you feel better soon! That sounds like no fun at all!
mizbear- hopefully things get running more smoothly soon.
Last wedding of the year tonight - our seventh! And next year we are invited to 10 and are going to 8, but only 7 each because two are the same day so it's divide and conquer. I have four months to rest up lol. And save up! Hmm... there's a decent chance (I hope) I'll be very preggers for half of them. I'll have to find fun dresses...

blackcard - LOL. Time's a wasting. 2 weeks. Yeah, how does that happen? Today is 2 weeks until Christmas Eve. And DH and I finished shopping for our nieces (DS and nephew are done). We are down to getting some gift cards for his siblings, but he and DS are going to do that some day during the week. BIL came over and babysat while DH and I went shopping because we were looking at blinds for our living room and an exercise bike for DH (although I will use it too). We also did our grocery shopping. THis week ended up being a kind of spendy week since I did a little clothes shopping yesterday and I had an improptu doctor's appointment and then Christmas shopping. But we used cash only for clothes and Christmas shopping (and we still have quite a bit of cash left). Grocery shopping, we were able to stock up on quite a bit of meat at good prices. Our freezer is filled with enough meat that I shouldn't have to buy any for about a month. Oh and I paid personal property taxes for both DH and myself and renewed the tags on the SUV last night. #sick# ses -I hope you feel better soon. sbcali - Congrats on getting everything done and hopefully you had a relaxing night. mrsl- Happy b-day to your DD.

SES: Hope you feel better soon. Bring all you bills and cards to the bathroom j/k. I so hate intestinal bugs.
Have had to redo our flooring plans so will be decorating for Xmas tomorrow. Bought a bunch of craft stuff for the kids to do. They have already been having fun with it. I was irritated with Michaels though. I had a coupon for $5 of a $25 purchase, but they couldn't get it to work so they gave me $4.74 instead and were fairly snotty about it or they would have to rering the whole transaction. If you put the dang coupons out you BETTER be able to make them work.
Shopping done except mom. But as DS#2's stuff is in our room can't wrap until later next week. Also need to get the den completely emptied as the floors there will be done on Tuesday. Seriously do you know how much crap one can accumulate in 7 years! YIKES. Will be happy to put the room back together and be more organized and decluttered.
mrsl: Hope things will get better. Did you decide to stay with your husband? how is that going (whatever the situation may be)
I am thinking I am going to be a weight loss challenge drop out. I have lost 5 lbs total since this last one began but nothing really this week. Since I can't win anything not sure of the point of going. But as these last 3 months had been maybe the most stressful of my life (if not the one of the top 3) I am happy to not have gained any weight.

Crazy would definitely cover things here. I still have this respiratory crud, now my back up moving help has a sick kid and can't help me until said kid is better (ZBear has a temp of 102 so Ex-SIL can't help me b/c she has been exposed to ZBear), DB needs to come get excess furniture before I send it to Goodwill. We are dedicationg DGMs grave today. So of course it's actually winter temps outside. The mailman didn't get to my place until after 5pm Saturday, so cards and Secret Santa won't go out until Monday because the last mail pick up is at like 4:15 on Saturday. They sort all weekend, but I don't think they actually send trucks out. Hope everyone has a better week this week.
