A woman from my Buy Nothing group was looking for a bookshelf. I told her, I have one. She contacted me and said she could pick it up this afternoon. It's now after 5:30. I reached out to her and she was like "oops". I get it. I've done that too. But she doesn't commit to a time and keeps wanting me to agree to her vagueness. Like "later tonight" or "tomorrow". I'm not waiting around another day, to see if she shows up. I have explained that it's in my garage, I'll need to move my car out and parking is a problem. I can't get the bookshelf out until she's here to pick it up. Silence. If she doesn't come today, before dark, like I have agreed to, I'm not going to worry about it. I'll be done trying to help her. Aggravating. 2-3 other people have agreed to give her bookshelves also. I wonder if she needs that many, or if she just doesn't show up? I’m suspicious by nature so she is waiting for you to mention having to leave for some reason and your house gets robbed. Yeah, I know I’m a little ray of sunshine this morning. If that's what she was waiting for, she was greatly disappointed. Because I'm very careful about my wording, when I give out info. And my nosey apt neighbors are more than happy to watch everyone in the area. But this particular item is located in my unattached garage, so she doesn't have my apt number. And she was a "no show". She couldn't even be bothered to respond to my messages, when she didn't get the answer she wanted. Oh, well! (I def wont be giving to her again, in the future.) I hate people like that.

We had rain this morning but the skies are blue and it is heating up. The kids are supposed to come over today for a BBQ but I have no idea when. I texted DD yesterday and she said she didn't know. That DSIL was supposed to get the morning off to go to the parade but then he had to go back to work. You would think by now she would have some idea of what's going on. If she does she isn't telling me. I'm starting to get a little provoked about her having no care about my time. I get that sometimes you really don't know but she could give me some hints. This isn't the first time she has done this.

Usually, when I get told someone doesn't know what time, I ask something like, do you think it's going to be closer to 2, or closer to 6-7? So that I'm not left with no idea at all. Have fun!

The latest is maybe he will be off work around 4pm. I had to ask to even get that information. I understand that he doesn't have set hours and that you don't always know how long a job will take (equipment breakdowns, cows get out, other distractions), but it would have been nice if DD had let me know what she knew without me asking.

We had DD and her boyfriend over for lunch & dinner, so it was a good day. Lots of food left, so we won't be starving anytime soon. It is really humid this evening, so I won't be surprised if we see some storms here in the next day or so. The neighbors shot off a lot of fireworks last night, so we'll see if they have money for more tonight...

Fireworks were worse last night than either of the first two nights. Sounded like they were outside my bedroom window. Both cats were in the basement for hours.

Good Morning Kids! Yes, we had neighbors playing with fireworks well into the morning here, too. At least the dogs handled it better than we expected. But, I was on my computer hanging out with them, so that may have helped.

Kitties have slept on their side by side cat trees in the sun all morning. They had me up off and on until morning, so I am tired, too.

I do and the texts were actually important.
I also managed to make an appointment for Amelia to get a dental and vaccines and for Maddow to get vaccines. I was surprised they were scheduling vaccines for mid-August. The dental is for late July and it's at their office that is only 4 miles away. They didn't used to do small animal surgery there but said they have started doing dental and spays there for small animals.
The car is so traumatic for the cats that I like the trip being 12 miles shorter each way.

Good Morning Kids! The humidity was VERY uncomfortable yesterday (absolutely felt tropical). Thankfully, humidity has dropped down today, so while you can still "feel" it, it's much better.
Neighbors are still using up their fireworks. Hoping I can catch up on some sleep later in the week. Haven't seen the guys who are supposed to be putting in my neighbor's new deck. Wondering when they'll be back to finish up...

Last night we got nature's fireworks. They didn't last as long but the lightning was much brighter than that from neighbor's fireworks and the cats were just as upset.
Of course, now they are upset because a suitcase is being packed.

You have a good trip TheOtherMe! DS & I went to visit my relative in the hospital. Yes, he's back in there again, but at least he's stable. Now the humidity is ratcheting up again. Oh well...

I watch DGDs 3 days a week. Today was supposed to be one of those days. But "the brats" were going to be there all day too, so once again, I opted out. I will go again on Friday. The last I saw them was last Friday, due to the holiday. I miss them.

They will need to leave around noon and not get home until at least that time the next day. Then I get to keep him that evening while they go out to a fancy meal for their 10th Anniversary. That I know I can survive. It's the overnight that concerns me. I am going to sleep on the living room couch because I don't think I will hear him if I sleep in their bedroom. When my sister and I took care of him, I never heard the nanny cam at night and I didn't hear him.

If it were me and one, or both of my granddaughters, the hardest part would be when they left again, after being gone for the day. But hopefully, that would be short lived. I'm happy that you enjoy such a good relationship with him.

[img alt=" " class="smile" src="//storage2.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/embarrassed.png"] Just tell him that Auntie TheOtherMe has to go potty and will be right back. He may follow you and talk at you through the door or lay on the floor and try and look under the door because that's what toddlers do.

Hello! I am doing better and have already done tea this morning. Looking forward to doing a whale watching tour on Saturday. Haven't done one in years and years. I am so happy that I feel well enough to go out. Everyone take care!

Absolutely NO privacy. They'll follow you ANYWHERE.

Good Afternoon Kids! The humidity is NASTY today, and no rain in sight, at least not in our community. It's all going south of us. Glad you're healing up snapdragon! Sounds like you're getting back into a routine. Good for you!

My other concern is what do I do with him when I go to the bathroom. Hahaha... My DGD's just turned 2 and 4 in the last month. Luckily the 4 year old can keep the 2 year old entertained, while I'm in the bathroom. But I remember many times, when the 4 year old was 2 and either talking, or crying, on the other side of the door. And seeing those little fingers come wiggling under the door. LOL 😁

Good Morning Kids! The humidity is nasty once again. Must be Summer, or something... I've never lived in humid areas. I've only traveled to one or two, once or twice, for a day or two max. And the humidity wasn't that high. But I thought I was going to drown and then melt. Are there ways to keep the humidity level down, when you're inside? Or is it just horrible all the time, everywhere?

AC reduces humidly while cooling. Also dehumidifiers remove moisture from damp areas without cooling.
