Hello my Saturday peeps! Our local pools sort of reopened this week -- you have to reserve a lane -- so I did. Best 90 minutes of the week. I really missed swimming.
Things at my next-door neighbor's house are very odd. A half-dozen cars and trucks there and it looks like they are doing some kind of deep cleaning. Not one single person there wearing a mask, and there's about eight people working in close proximity to one another. And it appears the kids are in the house, too. No sign of their mother, but the father is there.
crime scene cleanup? You said no sigh of mother! Ok, been watching to many forensic murder who dunits lately. I had not thought of that. I saw her in her van the last day she was here. She was sitting up in the passenger seat. But it was kinda dark outside. And she was bundled up..... OK, now, you have me thinking crime scene. And I wasn't before. I met up with her grandma a few days after I saw mom leave and grandma told me she went to Wisconsin, but could not tell me why. She claimed she did not know. The husband has seen me outside, but has said nothing to me or any of the neighbors. Not like him at all. The kids (at least the two oldest ones) were at the house today and normally, they come over and say hi. Nothing. Nada. Zilch. Not even a wave or a "Hi Miss Nancy."

Could be she has the Coronavirus and they don’t want neighbors to know The stigma and all that goes with it?? Just another thought.

That was my first reaction, because I saw her two days before she left, and she did not look well. But why take the kids to the grandparents and possibly infect old people? And why send her out of state? At that point, our state had the hospital beds and personnel to take care of her. And during the cleanup at the house today -- NOT ONE PERSON had a mask or gloves on. And when the crew left, their pickup truck was full of old household stuff the husband gave them. OK, fine, he was cleaning out old stuff that was maybe in the garage. But if my spouse did that and I wasn't around to see it I would not be real happy. And another odd thing -- they dug up a concrete pad on one side of the house. Heck, I did not even know it was there. The pieces are stacked in a trailer alongside the house. And the powerwash they did? The driveway and the fence that separates out property from theirs. Their nasty patio and all the kids' playground stuff, they did not touch.
At this point, I think not telling people already tells people what they already know. Or leads them to speculate worse. Like the crime scene scenario. Which frankly, is starting to sound really good.

Good Morning Kids! We're supposed to have one more day of sunshine before rain returns tomorrow. I mowed the backyard yesterday, and today will mow my smaller front yard. NancysSummerSip, you'll have to report back on what's happening with your neighbor. Inquiring minds want to know. I've been getting a ridiculous amount of mail lately. You'd think with so many places shut down, you'd get less. I'm going to overload my garbage can.

I just got off line playing the swim lane lottery -- another pool opened, but you have to sign up to get a lane. Sheesh, I was never good at the whack a mole thing. Got three reservations. but dang, that is exhausting. I need brunch, y'all.

Thanks NancysSummerSip. After a beautiful day yesterday, I made plans to work outside today. Light rain now and it looks like it will be all day.

I was up bright and early to be at the store near opening time. Mom and I have groceries for the week. My veggies have all been cleaned and are ready to go for the week. I bought a little bit of meat to fill in a few spots, although the meat case was fully stocked. The meat is now in the freezer. I would like to get some more chicken but it was too expensive. Hard cooked a few eggs for the week. Dropped Mom and I's letters/bills off at the post office and it is just now 9:45. I may try to paint some but it is still showery. There is place that never gets the rain and I could work there.

Good Morning Kids! I got "chained" to the telephone this morning, and I need to get out & pick up some things. (We were well-behaved, and stayed home all weekend.)

Mom and I had an exciting, almost non-contact excursion. Drive thru box at post office to drop off mail, stopped at sherwin williams opened the hatch they came out and put in more paint, drive thru at the bank. Then we did stop at my Dad's business where I talked with my Sis from an acceptable 6 ft away (she has saw horses in front of her desk to keep people away) and Mom talked with Dad for a few minutes. Any exciting day all around.

Morning all. Time to get moving for the day.
A bit on the cool side. The weather nerds are using that sNOw for later this week. Hoping they are incorrect.

Good Morning Kids! It's a good thing I haven't had time to put in a garden, because we may get some frost this week. Really ners, sNOw? Eek! I'm getting into the bad habit of staying up very late, and sleeping in. I like working late at night. The kids are in bed, the house is quiet, etc...

Trying to get my work laptop backed up. Everyone has a personal directory on another server that is backed up every night. I tend to keep all my files on my laptop and then "back them up" to my personal directory. That system worked fine in the office at home not so much. It is deadly slow and can take 2-3 hours to complete, hoping that evening will be faster with few people on the system.

Good Afternoon Kids! DD signed us up for "car communion" tonight at the church I was a member of when living here. The churches were already shut down when we returned, so it seems weird to be back, and not see any of my old church friends. But, other than car communion, we're only watching church services online until things open up here again. Won't be this month, I'm fairly sure of. Anyone else feel like we're living in an episode of "The Twilight Zone"?

Good Morning Kids! Well, we did go to "car communion" last night, and Pastor had a black mask, which matched his outfit perfectly. The communion wafers were handed to us, while we sat in our cars, in mini paper cupcake holders. And, we got wine in paper cups. I'm stuck in the house today, waiting for a repairman. Of course, that's nothing unusual lately, being stuck at home. I've got lots of laundry to work on, & phone calls to make, so it's not like I've got nothing to do.

At my church they had drive thru palm pickup on Palm Sunday.
Some parishioners organized a birthday parade for our pastor 2 weeks after Easter.
The church is doing a drive thru Mother's day blessing this weekend.
Other than that it has been watching taped mass.
I miss seeing my church family.

I miss my church friends too, ners. How ya doin'? My dishwasher, my washing machine and the dryer are all running. I'm trying to catch up on some paperwork, too. I really need to stop by the meat market, but it won't be today. I hope I can get there tomorrow before all of the "weekend warriors" try to pick up steaks for their weekend. Plenty of folks here are opening up the family cabins early, probably to try & get away from everyone else. Usually everything opens up on Memorial Weekend.

Well, I have to worry about DS catching this virus, Bluerobin. Although technically he isn't any more likely to catch it than the average person, his neurologist warned me if he got it, the seizure activity could be a huge problem, possibly requiring hospitalization, even if he wouldn't need a ventilator to breathe. Apparently, the virus brings out the worst in people who already have health issues. Another good reason, for me personally, to hunker down, is that there are a lot of seniors who attend our church. I know a bunch of them personally, and wouldn't want any of them getting sick. We've got both widows & widowers who are still active in the community, and I pray every one of them stays healthy, so they can keep doing whatever they do best. One of the ladies even made some cloth masks that fit well for the entire family.

I painted today and got quite a bit done, of course I didn't meet my goal. Some how I always set my goals way too high when painting. I did manage to knock the phone box off the wall. The little tab that hold the screw where they screw it onto the house snapped off. I suspect that the siding guys beat it up and that it was barely hanging on anyway.
Tomorrow the phone guy will be here sometime between 8am and 4pm. I wonder how much this is going to cost me.

Hiya peeps! I wanted to update y'all on what's up next door. The place is torn out to the studs. Even the tile floors and chatahootchee patio floor are gone. The wife is very sick, but it's not corona virus. It's Lyme disease. Apparently, she has had it for a long time, but it worsened considerably on a trip away and she has been in treatment since. Though why she is in treatment in the Midwest is anyone's guess. Her family, including her mom and granny, live here. DH thought the treatment might be something holistic and church-based and that is why she left.
She has also developed some kind of serious phobia about the house itself, that it is poisoning her. The mold remediation team did come, and did find some mold behind some old woodwork, but even if you clean a house to hospital specs, how do you keep it that way with four little boys? I mean, boys are dirty and they have cooties.

Good Morning Kids! It got quite chilly here overnight, and right now is barely above freezing. Brrr! That's weird, NancysSummerSip, that your neighbor was sent to the Midwest while fighting Lyme disease. They get that rather easily just north of here, when the ticks come out of hiding. You have to actively fight mold when you live "down South". I'm guessing your neighbor doesn't have the energy to keep up with her kids, and fight her illness at the same time-?

I'd say with four boys, keeping up with anything else is gotta be tough. And I see Ners is back!!!!! I am done with work, waiting for dinner to finish roasting. I am swimming tomorrow (got a reserved lane) and running Sunday. Brunch will be a Mother of a meal, y'all.

Just have to check in & mention that my kids brought home dinner tonight, to celebrate Mother's Day a bit early, so I didn't have to cook. Believe it or not, sNOw is in our forecast for the weekend, so it's probably good they won't be venturing out then. Calling @missrigby, you can take our sNOw anytime!

We are forecast for 86 degrees today. That is very warm for this area this early in the year. I will need to get out on my ladder early today and start painting. The phone company didn't seem to perturbed about the phone box. It was more like oh that happens. He just opened up the box and screwed back to the wall, which was good since we are expecting rain next week. Tonight Mom and I are going to have an exciting Mother's day celebration. I'm picking up a pizza and we are going to watch some TV. Whoopee.
