Good Morning Kids! Cloudy with a bit of fog here today.
I've got a bunch of phone calls to make, and more stuff to go through. Gotta get to it.

I'm waiting for the electrician, hope he makes it today. I fully expect that we will be put on mandatory stay home starting today. This may be the last day of the house project for some time. ETA: If people weren't so stupid we wouldn't be on mandatory stay home. This weekend people flocked to the beach, ala 4th of July. Several cities at the coast shut down the hotels and campgrounds and told people they had 24 hours to get out of town.

Ok, so DS & I have been very well behaved, since we stayed home all day yesterday, but today we were on our last loaf of bread, so DS & I took a drive to the nearest store, to see if they had any bread. The bread was gone, so I baked up a batch of biscuits with dinner, so we'd have the last of the bread for sandwiches tomorrow, if we need it. The annoying part is, we drove by a big hardware store on the way home, and the parking lot was packed, full of pick-up trucks. So, aren't the men here staying put? We've got a lot of independent contractors out here, but not THAT many. (I wonder if the guys need an escape after being home with the kids all day.)

I got an offer today I couldn't refuse fast enough. My Dad's cousin, who is in her 90's, had seen on FB that I have this big house project going. She had this great idea that I could come and stay with her while my house was being worked on. Her caregivers keep charging more and more and this way we could have mutual benefit. NO, NO, NO. One there is no reason I can't be living in my house. Two she would get rid of her caregivers and then I would feel stuck to stay there while she tried to find more. Three she has an annoying yappy dog that she talks to annoyingly, constantly.

Good Morning Kids! I got up early so I could find some bread. Score! Wasn't my usual brand, but hey, we've got 2 more loaves. Also did a quick stop at the vegetable stand, and I was the first customer of the day. She couldn't get everything she usually has, but the stand was full, so I just picked out something different. (I don't buy a lot of fresh stuff here. The humidity destroys fresh fruit & vegetables quickly, so you only buy what you can eat in the next day or two...)

DS was chomping at the bit to get out of the house for awhile, so I told him we were going to take a little road trip. I never let him stop anywhere, or get out of the car, but I drove him around some, so he could see the ocean from the car. So, he's happily back home now, after seeing some scenery, and he didn't risk getting exposed to the virus, or anything.

I slept hard last night, wish I could have gotten a couple more hours. The night before I was so upset with the electrician I just couldn't sleep. Yesterday morning the electrician and I had a little "discussion" on what I wanted and that how he wanted to do things was unacceptable to me. He was an ass the rest of the day yesterday but I think I got everything I wanted. The main thing I wanted was to be able to flip the switch by the front door and have the front porch light and the two new lights that are being installed on either side of the garage all turn on. He kept insisting that the switch for the lights on the garage needed to be inside the garage. No that is a really stupid place for them. Then it was well he could do it but I would have extensive drywall damage. That's fine I already have a hole in the kitchen wall that used to contain an AC unit. The drywall guys have to come out anyway. He was still giving me arguments. Finally he agreed. There is zero drywall damage. I of course won't fully know that he did it how I wanted until the lights are actually hung. That won't occur until after the siding is up. After that then he was able to find a way to make a light on the back deck work. Previously the pitch of the roof wasn't going to allow for that. Hopefully the siding install starts today. The coordinator said the lumber yard is no longer delivering they have to pick up the materials.

Good Morning Kids! Hang in there Sharon! Having contractors working on your house is always stressful, even when things go smoothly. I got up early to get my car in for an oil change, tire rotation etc., so the car will be road-ready. Pollen level is high here right now, in 3 different categories. So, my car is covered in fine pollen, and I'm sneezing. Fabulous.

House update: The siding installation didn't start yesterday, the coordinator came by yesterday afternoon and seemed to think they would start today. They are going to have to install a temporary door because the door I want is in quarantine at the warehouse. Two workers at the warehouse tested positive for Corona Virus so everything has to be disinfected before it can leave. They will install this temporary door so that the new frame can be put in and properly sided and sealed. When my door gets here they will just hang the new door on the frame they installed. Last night I did quite a big of house cleaning. I will be watching the grandkids tomorrow. There daycare is on Spring break, this was a planned closure long before anyone had ever heard of Corona Virus. I wanted the house super clean since they are so young they still play on the floor and unfortunately some of the construction mess has been inside and has wandered inside.

Good Morning Kids! I'm in a good mood, because I got up early to score a rare commodity here: TP! It's still limit 1, but I actually found a large package. There's a good chance we might shut down our internet next week, as I'll be leaving town not this coming weekend, but the following weekend. Didn't want you to be concerned. DH has to stay behind a bit longer, and I'm taking the computer in my car. So, if you don't see me logging on for awhile, don't worry, as I'm probably scrambling to fill more boxes, and get ready for a long trip, but know that prayers are greatly appreciated.

There is hope. I now have a flat bed trailer parked in front of my house with siding on it. They guy who left it there said there would be a crew out tomorrow and possibly even Saturday.

Good Morning Kids! We made it to another Friday! It's been hot here this month. I can't blame it on aging. The weatherman was showing that almost every day this month the temperature has been higher than average, with a number of days being 10 degrees or higher above average. Of course, he has to point out how this might affect hurricane season in 2020. (Like there's not enough going on...)

Good Morning Kids! No one tells me when we're running out of things around here, so I made an early trip to Wally World to pick up some soap & toothpaste. Some folks there are good about keeping a distance from each other, and others don't have a clue.

Hello peeps! I am sticking to this board mostly...too much negativity and criticism elsewhere. At least here on EE, we actually support each other. Been a busy week as I am still working in the office, but at least I am the only one and I get to disinfect it. Working on freelance at the moment, but will to back to cleaning grout shortly.

Did not get out for a walk yesterday. Not looking promising today either.

A sort-of rest day for me -- got another third of the hallway grout and tile cleaned. Disinfected the shower stall and I am doing laundry.
A crazy thing happened yesterday. Turns out my next door neighbor, mother of four boys, is sick. Nature of illness unknown. She was sent away to treatment in Wisconsin (!) which makes no sense, given that we have world-class hospitals here, including one less than 10 minutes away where DH went after his stroke. The coronavirus has definitely meant an uptick in patients, but the place is by no means overrun; they just opened a new wing, two new buildings (cancer and pediatrics) and have two outpatient centers empty and ready to use if needed. So it's not overcrowding or lack of supplies here, even with the snowbirds still hanging around. Several other neighbors have tried to reach her DH, but no response. Her kids are with her parents nearby, so at least they are safe. I happened to see a stranger walking into their house yesterday and I approached asking if I could help. Turned out to be the mom's 84-year-old grandmother there to clean the house and do six loads of laundry. I offered to do a load of towels for her. She was grateful for the help. Four kids make a lot of dirty clothes, it seems. Grandma is a very sweet lady with a lot of energy and an Irish brogue that could cut potatoes. I like her. Wish I still had my grandma. I hope all will be well in this situation.

NancysSummerSip Thanks for virtual brunch. Hope your neighbor is okay and the grandparents can keep up with the 4 children. Bluerobin Totally get not having anything to say. It seems to me I could just copy and paste my previous entry. Stay safe and well everyone.

NancysSummerSip Thanks for virtual brunch. Hope your neighbor is okay and the grandparents can keep up with the 4 children. I think the church congregation has a number of teachers; the kids are already home schooled, so they are used to it. Grandma said some are coming to begin lessons with them this week. Grandma herself is even going to teach them. She said her subject is Spanish. It cracked me up to think of Spanish spoken with that Irish accent.

Busy, just don't have much to say. That's o.k. Just wanted to be sure you were doing well. Frankly, there's not a whole lot going on here. Trying to stay at home most of the time, and packing. How exciting, huh? Has anyone else noticed weird businesses in your community that are still open, when they probably should be closed? There's no place open here if you need a haircut, but I was shocked to see not one, but TWO nail salons open for business. I don't consider that a necessity.

No nail salons open here; I thought the governor's closure order included those. I am surprised. Now my salon also offers waxing services. That, I do miss. Talk about getting hairy and ugly out there for some of us. Personally, I am debating with myself about why liquor stores are open but ice cream shops aren't. I consider good ice cream a necessity...doesn't everyone?
