Ahh!!! Another exciting New Year Eve posting on the internet. I think this is the 3rd NYE I've spent doing this.

Do you feed the bones to them raw? Jake is on a partial raw diet.

These were left over from a ham I cooked in the crock pot before we left town for Thanksgiving.
I do buy the smoked beef bones from Tractor Supply & the grocery. Mom gave them both one for Christmas. They really enjoyed them. I just have to put the lab mix in his crate with his or he'll go outside with it (it's a little to cool for him to be spending hours at a time outside)

Yeah, Jake is an indoor pooch too. It is way too cold for him to be outside for very long at all. He doesn't like it when he has to go potty in the snow. He looks at me like he is being tortured.

Happy New Years Everyone. I actually ended up going to bed about 8:30 with a migraine. The fireworks woke me up and scared our Oreo kitty. The other cat didn't even notice.
This morning I am working on getting a written budget for the next year and then I will start the FAFSA for my very first time. I was actually supposed to be going to paycheckcity to figure out my take home pay but I got lost and ended up here. I know this is all very YM of me but I am starting to stress big time about the college costs for next year.

Sharon I hear you. Our daughter has 1 year left of HS and I am freaking out how we are going to help her pay for college.
We have told her she has to do the FAFSA and see what she can get. We told her to ONLY take out what she will need to pay for the classes for each semester. Nothing extra to live on. She will have a job to pay for living expenses. We will do what we can to help her out.

I wouldn't be having such a major freakout except DD wants to go out of state. We are hoping that she can do it in 3 years because of all the credits she has earned while in High School. It looks like a lot of those will transfer even though they are going from terms to semesters. So far she has received 1800 in scholarship money, I am hoping that more will start coming in closer to the end of year. That is also on my agenda today, proof read scholarship essays.

Well I guess I better go find paycheckcity and get back to the task at hand. I always prefer doing budget type stuff when the house is quiet. In other words DD is still asleep.

Good morning, boys and girls, and a very happy and prosperous new year is what I wish for all of you Sharon and Angel, if you haven't already gone, be sure you have a front row seat at any and all seminars relating to financial aid of any kind at your daughters' schools. They are a fountain of information. And apply for everything even if you think you make "too much" money to qualify. Student advisors usually know about "off-brand" money that's available, too. DGS scored a lot of scholarship and grant money that he thought was out of his reach by applying for everything that was suggested and everything he could find out on his own.

Shucks...it is afternoon. And I did swipe a dreg of that coffee, so muchas gracias for leaving me a bit. I did need it. Hope everyone had a safe New Year. I got two major projects done so far: straightened up my pantry and my pots/pans/gadgets storage. While dinner is cooking tonight, I will clean the fridge and kitchen pantry shelves. I ran this morning and did the laundry. I think I need to leave the house for a bit, just to slow down. I see there was a troll attack last night. Good Lord, this place can run riot at times.

Hi MissR. I'm lurking working on deciding what I want to do about some grocery shopping. The better vanilla extract was out at the grocery store yesterday and the sale ends today. I might just get some McCormick's vanilla extract at a closer store as it turns out the coupon I had for the better stuff I need to buy two things to get just $1 off.

R2D2, you're gonna get a black mark in The Big Book for being mean to a little old lady person.
Cheesy, I'm not doing much my ownself. I've got the lazies, and it feels like Sunday.
Opti...gotta keep a close eye on the coupons. Sometimes what looks like a screaming deal is no deal at all.

That's not good, Cheesy. Then you won't have anything to do tomorrow. And when you go back to work on Tuesday, you won't know what day it feels like!
I'm so grateful to have made it past another holiday season. Haven't been in the stores for anything since last week, but I bet all the Valentines and Easter bunnies are already on display.

Very true. Some of the regular prices on this brand are in the territory of what I used to spend on organic spices.

We are heading out to a flea market tomorrow, and I plan to take the tree down and get some cleaning done, so plenty to do tomorrow...today I just don't feel like doing a damn thing.

I have already seen some Valentine Day's stuff. Probably should shower and go out for some minor shopping. Found a better priced pair of sweat pants on sale yesterday so I need to return the other ones I don't like as much.

My wife retired from McCormick so I recommend their spices. Make sure you buy real vanilla and not imitation.

I do not know how anyone can buy the imitation stuff. I never have.
