sheila and shannan; He wasn't trying to break in. He has a key to the door. The knob sticks and you have to work it to get it to close right. I don't have a problem with it because I turn the knob and shut it that way. They have a problem with patience. If it doesn't slam shut, you kick it shut. Their actions, not mine. That family has no patience for anything. They can't wait until something is a year old and doesn't cost much. They have to have it when it comes out or it is no good. I understand that technology is obsolete the month after it comes out, but if it does what you want why pay the high price of a new one. So you have to wait 7 minutes for your computer to come on and get to the screen you want to be. Go make yourself a cup of tea and a bagel. Or turn the TV on at the same time you turn the computer on then go make the tea and bagel. Watch the weather and by that time your computer will be at the right page. That is only when you are trying to go on line. ;D

Well I guess I'm 1 so far. Yesterday wasn't planned. My assistant works part time at Hallmark and had told me they were out of one ornament that I wanted already. Then Tuesday night when she was there she found a few in a box in their store room and bought it for me. So I wrote her a check for the cost.

3 days into november and i have 2 spends already. monday, i purchased apps for research and today i purchased 2 books for a giveaway i'm doing (full details coming next week but i'm giving away a copy of both of the 5 dollar dinner mom's cookbooks) and a book i really, really want to read but is not available at any library. in my entire state. so i bought it.
i'm hoping that's the end of "business" expenses for this month. and if it's not, i hope i pick up another job to compensate!

ses- my spam filter caught it so I deleted on site. Although it was hidden between several viagra offers nano- so far, so good, I made it to 5,000 words in the first 2 days and have yet to write a word today. Going back and forth between my creative writing and structured/system writing is giving me a headache. Boo. No spending- so far, so good. Aside from the microphone for my business, I've bought nothin'. It helps that I'm staying in except for the gym. I didn't even make the gym last night, I was so exhausted. I even slept in this morning. Trip- ug, I have not a) packed b) planned c) thought of packing or d) looked at the itinerary yet. And my roommate might be canceling which means I need to find a cheaper hotel to stay at for 2 nights.

Welcome to Hootie and Fuzzy.
I also only have 1 cs. I will post officially later. Last night was my autism support group. I so want them to just have a NORMAL meeting. It has been since JUNE when we had a normal one. Next month is a holiday party (my idea but I didn't know this month they were going to focus on techology and Ipads instead of a normal meeting)
DF likes his new job and it keeps him challenged and busy. Looking at the budget and we really need more money to come in just to have things at the bare minimum. Although I may up my hours from our waiver for DS#2 as we didn't use our staff much so there are extra hours there. I will also be getting a check for milage for DS#2 within the next couple weeks BUT I am expecting to have to argue with them about the milage.
Happy Thursday all!

So far I am on budget. 3 NS. Think good thoughts for me- I have to call the doctor in the morning. I am having a health crisis that I am hoping doesn't mean what I think it means- other than a massive dietary change. This is not something that can wait for my checkup and I am scared.
DGM will need kyphroplastic (I think I spelled that right) surgery. I am hoping they do it after Christmas. At least that way she will be guaranteed one more Christmas at home.
I can't decide whether to use google calendar for my appointments so that it pops up in my gmail everyday, use MS Works, try outlook (or whatever it is again) or see what else I have lurking on the computer. I am hoping to upgrade to windows 7 after the first of the year, so DB has suggested using goosle- any thoughts. I have a calendar on my phone as well- but it is not a smart or droid phone- just a cosmos.
HUGS to everyone who needs them and good juju to those who need it.
What is everyone planning for Thanksgiving? I am trying to convince DGM to scale back.

2 NSD, 1 CSD, 0 EOD. Took the kitten to the vets this morning. I thought she was around 6 months old? The vet checked her teeth and said she was over a year old but under two. She is small for her age and she is not pregnant. It is just between me feeding her at night when I come home and in the morning and DS feeding her during the day, she got a big belly on her. So I come home tonight and find her and another cat fighting along the road. After I parked the car I called her to the house and put her inside. I hope the other cat goes home. My cat will be fixed next Thursday and the two that need shots will get them on Friday morning. It cost me $24 this afternoon for the visit and a rabies shot. Can anyone enlighten me on the leukemia and HIV testing they do on cats? I am from the old school that if they aren't sick, acting sick, you let them alone. I do the rabies and distemper but that is about all. I have tomorrow off and plan to sleep in. My leg, hip, and knee hurt so bad right now that I could cry. I have trying to get at least a 10-15 minute break at work but for some reason I can't get it in. I usually sit down for 15 minutes and take 2 Advil and then I am fine the rest of the night until the morning. I was going to write more but my mind went blank.

Update: 3 NSD
Tomorrow will be a spend day but since I'm grouping my errands then I should be able to make the rest of the weekend and Monday a NSD. Tues will only be a NSD if I need gas in the car.
Kinda bummed that my roommate buddy is not going to attend the event next week. We were sharing a room and while it was more expensive than I would have liked I definitely don't want to stay there by myself. I looked around online and found another location that will actually save me $80 even rooming alone! (yes hotels are expensive during these conferences!)

muttley: have fun!
start: it is crazy how they jack up room prices for events or certain times of the year.
3cats: Glad the kitty is not preggers. As for the tests feline luekema is a NASTY illness and highly contagious. If she had it when she was born she probably would be acting ill now or no longer living. I am assuming your other cats have been around her, if they have I wouldn't worry about the. If they have not been around her I would test her just to make sure your other kitties are not exposed to it. I think they have a shot to prevent it. I think all outdoor kitties should have it. We had a kitten that had it. Very sad situation.

Thanks Dakota, but that'll be easy. I'm stuck at work from open to close (7am-10:30pm) both days so I'll be fine.

Goal 15 NSDs
Update: 1/15 NSDs
This month is going to be busy and expensive. My husband and I are moving a considerable distance (9 hour drive, more with the U-Haul). It will be a challenge to meet my no spend goal and to post regular updates. After the move, I will probably be on frequently because I do not have a job and won't have much to do.

CUTE PICS!
Football team got slaughtered, the band stunk, and even the cheerleaders were painful to watch (their dance moves looked kind of like they were standing up having seizures)- it was really really bad.

honey - I know today was your last day at work - hope you are doing ok
3cats - glad the kitty isn't pregnant!
ses - ltc?
mizbear - doc go ok? you ok?
new members - welcome!
muttley - enjoy the visit!
renee - I saw the chairs you redid on your blog - cute fabric!
Update: 4/30 CSD, 3/30 resturant points used
Did you hear a giant sucking sound today? That was all my money being. Technically everything that has been spent has been budgeted for but I try to do all the x0mas shopping before thanksgiving and we've been knocking stuff off the list.
Question: I want to have some web design work done - anyone have a recommendation? Specifically I want help designing a flexible logo and then a quick tutorial on the design options/elements on blogger. I do better if I can talk with someone and they show me how (even remotely). But I don't want to spend a ton either. Anyway - any referrals would be great.
Hope everyone is doing well!

Update : 3 NSD
Despite my intentions, today ended up being a spend day after all.
I decided to visit a friend downtown so we could do some headshots - if you're friends of mine on facebook it's my new profile pic - I like the ones from sbcalimom on Friday but realized I have to sub to so many places I don't want it to look like I have but one outfit. So parking was a few bucks, then I got cash at the bank and reordered a debit card that went missing a few weeks back. Also picked up some craft supplies at Salvation Army, a few books for my trip and coffee.
Not an overly expensive day but a spend day nonetheless.
Tomorrow I'm staying in and hope to get a lot more written on my novel, practice for my interview and maybe get some of these craft projects done. I'm doing some paint, glass etching, creating a door hanger and finishing some Christmas Ornaments too.
I did get the house work jazz done today including *swept the kitchen and hallway *did 2 loads of laundry, folded and put everything away *did all the dishes, dried and put away *cleaned up the craft/guest room *picked up sticks in the backyard before it started to rain *made enchiladas for dinners this week *put away all the papers that were lingering in the kitchen *cleaned up in the bathrooms

I have to go back for my regular check up in 2 weeks. She wants to schedule some tests but because I had a cold, she said that could skew the test results. So we wait. I am hoping this is all blood and exterior work ups- if it means another colonoscopy- I think I quit.
We know what it isn't (without getting into the TMI category), but we haven't figured out what it IS yet.
Her big concern is that whatever it is, she wants to get a handle on it NOW.
Not spending. I have the chili cook off on Saturday. Everything is pretty quiet right now- or will be until my DB asks to borrow my car in a few hours and I tell him no.

Miz, I know how scary and frustrating it is to be undiagnosed - best wishes for a good diagnosis and speedy recovery. FP, good luck with the move and all the associated headaches! Quick update - 2 NSDs, 2 CSDs, 1 EOD. Had a welcome-home party for my BFF last night - it was really a great time. I missed her so much! She and two others (all of us BFFs since elementary school) ended up spending the night, I was joking with DH that it was his junior-high fantasy come to life . I love finally having a house big enough to host parties... my mom's house was/is tiny, messy, and way out in the boondocks - I think we hosted 2 sleepovers total during my childhood. Now to dig into this pint of Bonnaroo B&Js a friend left behind...

Crazy busy weekend here - but no unplanned spending and no eating out! You'll see why. So far I've done the following since Saturday morning:
-applied to 2 jobs -worked 2 hours at my job -made 5 crockpots meals -made lemon fish -prepped roast veggies - double batch (in oven now) -vets (routine) -grocery store -bank -freecycle 2 big bags of clothes (DH & I - one each) -pulled bag of shoes/boots to sell -cleaned laundry room -6 loads of laundry -finished pulling slide show together of trip pictures -set up 2012 budget -cleaned dining room -set up bills from next paycheck
DH has helped with lots of this and made his meatloaf muffins plus french toast for breakfast. He's doing banana bread later and I still have to prep turkey burgers and make pasta sauce. And work a few more hours and do about 5 more things! But we've made huge progress this weekend. We now have enough meals put up we can eat at home into December without cooking (just reheating). Even better we have *7* different meals to choose from - so no repeating! Lucky for me DH is in charge of squeezing it in the freezer!
Hope everyone had a great weekend!
mizbear - good luck w/the tests - I hope they figure out what it *is* - I hate just hearing 'well it isn't...'

Update: 3 NS Days and 3 CS DaysJust another quick pop in -- manage to get quite a bit done this weekend. Made a major dent in the school work. Not finished yet but got it down to a smaller pile. Also managed to get several loads of laundry done and the halloween items picked up. Still have the Thanksgiving stuff in the attic but that will wait a few days/weeks. Also have a few meals in the freezer from previous weeks so if things get really hectic I won't have to eat out. misbear -- Hope you will find out what it is and that it is nothing to worry about. fp -- Wishing you a safe uneventful frugal move. MK -- how are the kids? 3cats -- do we have to start calling you 4cats now? honey -- how are you?
