I didn't post on the Politics Board on the MSN forums, so I feel as if I'm at a bit of a disadvantage here trying to figure out which poster would fall into the "politically left" side of things, or the "politically right" side of things ~ as well as how people compare to one another. (i.e, who falls where on the political spectrum) LIBERAL =========== MODERATE ========== CONSERVATIVE On a scale of 1-10, with 1 being the most politically liberal and 10 being the most politically conservative .... where would you say you fall? (And do your fellow posters agree with the number you've assigned yourself?)Play nice. No name-calling. Just numbers, please.

The political spectrum thread is where you want to go.

I thought that thread was a bit technical and confusing. Then again, I have screaming math anxiety. I just thought a single digit number would be simple and easy. (Then I could make myself up a handy-dandy chart)

...I figured that I was an 8ish, too... but, by comparison, I'm usually considered a 15... my initiation into the P&tM forum was a "when does life begin" thread where they wanted more pro-filers to weigh in... I did... ouch! but never fear, the bruises heal...

Political Alignment: I dislike both majors so I'm an Independent Political ideology: Conservative - probably 7-8 on the mollymouser scale.

I'm around a 4, I'd guess. So much depends on the issue in question. That's why I'm a registered Independent.

I was going off my results on the political spectrum bits... it has me way down in Liberal Libertarian territory... Probably much more accurate than this. Do conservatives REALLY like boobs? They do seem to like to complain about people exposing them

Might want to start with a description of what you think a conservative or liberal is. many people are considered liberal in one area like environmental issues but might be considered very conservative say in fiscal matters. I would consider myself absolutely independent but right of center on most fiscal or current social issues. It seems like everyone is trying to be fit into one of two boxes but in reality there are many independent minded people who have found a lot of common ground and sense in having their own positions on these issues and sometimes they don't fit into either mold.

I never take them tests because I don't really care to have some pre-determined computer algorithm tell me who or what I am. This is the latest and greatest patch on my riding vest...you be the judge So, you'll never hear me complain about that. If you want to know the truth, I wanna see them all. That must be where I split from main stream conservatives.

Libertarian by nature but registered Republican because I wouldn't be able to participate in the primaries if registered unaffiliated.
Fiscal - conservative - maybe a 8 or 9
Gay, abortion, drugs, etc - Liberal - 1 - I don't care what you do as long as you don't affect others rights. I'm torn on abortions after a certain point since 24 weeks is considered viability but understand that some people won't want to take care of a child that's disabled, or may have other circumstances and that's their right...really tough one for me there.
Religion - 3 - Have to see evidence before I believe. But, I'm a zealot who wants to see everything religious removed from government buildings, money, etc. That's a bit ridiculous.
Border security - 9 - keep the illegals out. Build a fence. Shoot on site.
Immigration - 2-3 - We have to find a logical way to take care of the current issue of those that are in this country and have been for years and we have to find a logical way to bring the workers in that we need. We're pretty good at bringing over and providing visas to Indian doctors, engineers, scientists and IT professionals but horrible at getting the appropriate visas for food service, farm and construction workers who are Mexican. This makes no sense.
Hmmm, what else...

Definite Libertarian here. Dems & Pubs both want to regulate parts of my life which are frankly none of their business. Sometimes different things....sometimes the same things...but both seem pretty determined to tell me how to live.
And of course both want large amounts of your and my money to support their agendas. God, I miss Milton Friedman.
So I guess I am a fiscally conservative anarchist.

This is starting to get technical and confusing. Remember, the idea here is that Molly wants us reduced to a simple number, 1-10 nothing more.
