I just received my first paycheck of the year. With the 2% SS reduction, offset by the expiriring of the making work pay credit, and my increase in health insurance costs, I net a whopping $3.42/check. Yep, a whole 6.84/ month. I can hardly contain my excitement
Should I stimulate the economy or get it in cash and roll in it?
No suggestions of hookers or blow. It's not enough to qet a quality product. A girls got to have standards you know.

Trader Joes sells single speciality beers. I think you could get one or two each paycheck.

If you throw in another 33 cents, and get it in quarters, you can fill up three of those 5-gal jugs with water from the vending machines outside the grocery store (does everyone have those, or is that just a thing in the southwest states?)

I can see this thread topic going low-brow in short order.

It will buy you a multi-pack of highlighters. (I was at Staples earlier today.)

Trader Joes sells single speciality beers. I think you could get one or two each paycheck. Except the Trader Joes is right next to a really good bakery. I fear I could not go into TJ without also stopping at the bakery. I would be inclined to spend more than my increase, and my increase would actually cost money. I like the water jug suggestion. Water for when the economy collapses. A true D&G line of thinking.

$3.6 million dollars -- not to bad - now be thankful!! Holy greenbacks, Batman. But the SS reduction is only for 2011. So in 30 years my $82.08 might be $200. Whoohoo.

EF
Let's see at $6.84/month, I'll have 6 months expenses in ....... 30 years.
I really thought you guys would be more creative. You know like - convert it into pennies, make a sculpture out of it and sell it an an art fair for $100. Or Stimulate the econony one skinny latte at a time.

<<< EF Let's see at $6.84/month, I'll have 6 months expenses in ....... 30 years. >>> ...well, if $6.84/mo is all you'll have going into an EF, then you've got other budget items to correct... ...and I don't do lattes, but two extra things of Breyer's every month would be good!

Well, we gave you single beers, mochas and smoothies. Is that so far off from lattes that it doesn't count?

You could send your representatives a letter thanking them for all their hard work...but it would cost a significant percentage of your total to mail it, especially if you had to drive to the post office to get a stamp.
I second the Breyer's if the grocery is already on the way home.

Just make a check payable to Petunia. If you want to deduct the cost of postage, I am OK with that.

That will buy at least 2 pounds of apples. Apples are the best diet food in the world! You can fulfill the "apple a day" thing.
