I will say, I'm feeling a little better now. I checked my calorie count from yesterday, and it wasn't as devastating as it seemed (when I had the carton of ice cream in my lap and a spoon - luckily there wasn't much left.) Yesterday I also didn't eat much for lunch and missed my afternoon piece of fruit, so I might have lacked energy for my work out just because I was so darn hungry. I'm determined to do just a little better today. Eat my fruit, work out hard, have a nice dinner with my family. Plus, even though I'm behind at work - that blizzard in the midwest might help me out a little - at least today.

Are you drinking enough water? Being dehydrated will wear you out. You're drinking enough water when your urine runs clear or close to it.

After avoiding it and complaining a lot last night, we began our workout at 8:45. I actually did really well. I felt a lot better after that. And even though I didn't go to sleep until 11 pm - I'm feeling better today.

I "returned home" after commuting between two states for a year- to an economy whose closest major city had a 50% unemployment rate (Detroit). The longest gap between jobs in a 35 year run was-- 2 days. It was clearly evident that I would leave the state again. I did not. My family was at the precise ages to need a different approach to managing the situation. I exceeded that challenge and then some. I am well-ahead in the where-we-are-goin race for new prosperity based on taking on risks without rewards to ensure I won't be a victim unless I let myself become one on purpose. Remember, you can watch all of the commercial sports you can but won't lose a pound until you play the game for real. Works in life too, post dribble on message boards ad nauseum, but it takes ACTION and EFFORT to evoke change and a fighter's attitude to manage it. Unfortunately, because I rally this Topic category, I am forced to read your malaise and am a major critic of what you spew out in words because-- YOU can do something about your situation and mindset where many others are literally imprisoned by them. Who are you? Is that the specific person you intended for yourself when wide-eyed and young? What if your employer and field closed up tomorrow? Don't think it can happen, think again. There isn't a thing in your existence that doesn't ooze COMPLACENCY right now. If God intended you to be complacent, you'd be chewed gum under a desk in an abandoned school. The Thyme4change is now and if you let it pass, you won't make it much longer in your overly routine existence before REAL CHANGE takes you by surprise.

Run for 30 minutes 3 times a week with work outs on the days you do not run. Start of slow. walk for a few weeks first then run 1 day a week walk the others and so forth. Every two weeks increase the intensity and duration ... your energy will go sky high.

I second every post that suggested physical activity - because you wrote that you are feeling so tired that you don't know what you'd like to do in your me-time. Been there, done that, dug myself out of it. You could go and get a massage too, unless you are opposed to it for some reason. I'd pick a thorough, stronger massage...light and relaxing never worked for me when I felt like you do at the moment. Had too much tension that had to be relieved. Try to sleep more as well. With the extra physical activity you'll have enough energy to meet your friends (more regularly) in addition to completing your current chores and they also may suggest something new you have not tried before.

I take a separate Stress B Complex in addition to my regular vitamins. Much like Jarhead's exercise advice... take them consistently but take a break (3 weeks take, 1 week not). Your stress gets managed, your energy level goes up.
Quality micro-brewed ales still have the "trub" on the bottom. That stuff is almost pure Vit B leftover from fermentation. Since alcohol takes B out of the body, note that a good micro brew gives it back PLUS the natural grain's nutrients.

I am 31 and I just eat organic vegetable, fruits, and meats. I also exercise and really that pretty much does it. You can do a body cleanse which helped me too, actually doing the cleanse first helped me with my energy. I can tell you I have never had this much energy in my whole life, even when I was a child.

what makes me feel energetic? pretty women!! my neighbors, 4 women living together and 3 of them are hot! but that doesn't help here.... driving at least 15 MPH over the speed limit.......but that doesn't help here? my special pill...until it wears off....I'll be quiet now

Yes, the B vitamins do give me a boost throughout the day! I've started exercising again and I have been waking up before my alarm in the mornings and I am a lot more energetic throughout the day. I still feel kind of bored with my life though, so I need to get a new hobby or something to look forward in order to keep the pep in my step.

I have a question - when I took a hiatus from working out for approximately 4 months, I was sooo tired when the alarm clock went off in the mornings.
But, now I am back to working out at the gym somewhat regularly and I am back to not sleeping well. I go to sleep at 11p and I wake up at 2a and I struggle to try to sleep until about 4 or 4:30a, and then I piddle around until 5:30a when it is time to get up.
Does anyone know how to balance this out? I want to be tired at 10p and I want to sleep until 5:30a, and I do not want to be exhausted and want to die when the alarm goes off. Hellllpppp Thanks

Take a pre-workout supplement. Some of them are pretty potent and they'll have you begging to work out. I find they are invaluable for us older people whose energy isn't what it once was.
