Hmmm. Can find no reason not to stick with TPI (Tianyin Phamaceuticals - CHINA), Long. Should probably be another also ran this week, unless some good news is released to encourage investors. May be a week or two premature, but believe better days lie ahead.

long TBT (Proshares Ultrashort Treasuries - 20 years +)

TLT is still over 105 which I think is too high. Even with the Fed keeping rates low for the next two years the long term treasuries should eventually price in future inflation. As inflation rises the Fed will raise rates which should translate to higher rates. I have a position in TBT and also credit call spreads (bearish) on TLT. I would like to close out the TBT position because I think the option positions on TLT are easier to manage and less risky. The CPI is as high as it's been since Oct 2008 at 3.63%.

I'm curious to see what happens to EZJ - ProShares Ultra MSCI Japan. On Friday, the Japanese prime minister resigned and apparently a new leader will be elected on Monday.

I'm going to stick with AAPL Long. I don't see it as a game winner for the week but I do expect it will do better than the benchmark QQQ. APPL is still, in my opinion, extremely under valued in the marketplace.

architecto, All is fine at the homestead. The yard is a mess but no damage to the house or out buildings. I do not yet know the status of the shore house but the prospects are not good. The eye of the storm passed withing 4,000 feet of the house. The storm surge may have breached the bulkhead. I'll be calling a neighbor shortly to get a quick assessment of the damage.

I just came up from the barn, where I just put 20 bales of hay up in the loft. THat's all I could stand to do.

I picked up 100 bales off the field on Saturday, and drove the truck and trailer into the barn, but it was just too hot to lift 'em.

So, I'll go down every morning for the next week and load about 20. It'll be a little cooler.

Each bale weighs about 70 lbs, so that's 7000 lbs of hay.

THere is nothing more miserable than stacking bermuda hay in a 130 degree hay loft.

Now, back to the race...

2k&10h., a few times in my life I've helped friends stack hay.... Yep, not much fun. And for many years, when someone tells me how hot it is..... my come-back is: Hot? Been there, done that. I use to instruct jets at Laredo AFB, Laredo, Texas in the summer....on a huge concrete ramp, sitting in an aluminum airplane.....waiting for take-off, parked behind a 4-ship formation with 4 jet exhausts blowing hot air....and your canopy is open... but that's only for a short time.... when you're cleared for the active..... then the cockpit immediately becomes "bank lobby cool"....... MEMORIES.

I switched horses & I should have stayed where I was! Oh well, this is how we learn!

2-10...been there done that too! But most of the bales I bucked were alfalfa, clover, timithy mix! And I still remember back when we put the hay up loose, before balers were popular! Hard to find a square bale around here any more...all are those huge round things!

uncle.23 charges out of the gate on JVA but can the coffee high last for five days. Meanwhile SBS and tyfighter3 are chasing after JVA but at a sustainable pace.

Unfortunately, I think I'll be heading to the rear soon. I've read too much today about Japanese finanical woes and the election process they have to believe that this ETF has a chance. Although maybe having a finance minister as the prime minister will help.

SRTY is mad because I put up bermuda hay rather than kadee's alfalfa/timothy mix!

To appease him, I promised I'd put a little corn oil in his oat bucket if he finishes well.

We don't grow alfalfa around here. Too many blister beetles. They'll kill a horse. And timothy is a cool weather grass. It has to come from Canada for us to get any.

If I were to feed that, I'd have to pay $12 to $14 a bale! (Mind you, I did feed straight alfalfa to our show horse when we were showing him. But he's retired now, so he gets bermuda.)

I had to pay $3.45 a bale for the bermuda off the field. If I bought it from the feed store, it would be $9 a bale.

I'm lucky there's a guy still doing "squares". Most every one wants to do round bales.
