HOUND ALERT Playtex $2/1 from the 8/14 SS It is a regional deal at Shoprite. Playtex Tampons 2.44 a 16-18 ct box. I looked at my 8/14 SS and didn't even get a playtex coupon. so I am not sure if it is a regional coupon or just because I live in the land of crappy coupons. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help. Teenage daughters are expensive! beachbum: DRATS!! I wish I could help you out, but it must be a regional Q because I didn't get it either.

Saveinla: We have a Maytag that I got Black Friday last year. It isn't the 2 door type but it does have the bottom freezer and an icemaker, which I am so thankful for. I will be looking for a new freezer as the little chest one I have is too small. I am planning on purchasing a split side of beef and need more freezer space. Good luck with your purchase! I am thankful for not having any coupons this week. It took me all of last week to cut, clip, sort and file about 5 weeks of inserts. That's the price I pay for being a binder girl. LOL. Chickens for $.69 lb. is a good price. I've been buying rotisserie chickens on sale at Meijer for $4.99-2.00 IPQ and making stock with it. I like having containers of chicken and stock in the freezer. rubyslippers: You're a binder girl!! Is there anything that we can do about that?

I still clip everything when I get it too dancin! I have an uber-organized file-box for GC/public sharing coupons and 2 accordion files for coupons for just me and DM/DGM. For instance- if you ask for dog food brand A- I can look in pet food/supplies- and see if it is there. Works good for me because I can pull all of the same coupon for any one hound who needs it.

Safeway Just4U This is a savings program tied to your customer loyalty card at Safeway & affiliate stores. I just recently joined and tried it on a cheap item (donut) w/NO issues. Sat I bought 4 items I had tied to my card and NONE went thru right. I knew this because my total should have been just over $5 inc tax. Turned out to be 7.XX. KNEW this was WRONG so had cashier void & re-ring watching EVERY item and coupon individually. Saw the personal prices did NOT come off properly or, on 1 item, at all. The customer service supervisor made it all good or I would have just left the entire order (nothing was a major need it right now) and sent a stinging email to Safeway corp. I will NOT waste my time doing this program if it happens again. Anyone else having issues? I've used Just4U for a couple of months and have not run into a problem with what I downloaded to my card. But, I'm not a big Dominicks fan. Both of the stores "near" my home are in opposite directions so, to chase any of the deals, I do have to chase. I work Southeast of both...they are either directly West or more NW of where I usually travel. So, if I do shop there, it has to be a special free or close to free or the absolute BEST deal I can find. Neither has been especially coupon friendly (ran into two IP coupons for same item that they would only accept one OR would not accept an IP at all) I don't have the patience nor the time to get them to follow their policies. I ask them to void the transaction if this happens. (It has been only a couple of items, so I don't hold up any line that may occur.) I follow more Valley Produce, Eurofresh, Caputo's, Aldi or Meijer. Jewel generally is not an option for me. It's a mile away from my house, but pricing there would make us take out a HELOC, even with coupons! But, on another note, on store loyalty store cards, such as Safeway/Dominicks, I thought somewhere in All You, I had read more savings because of their card "policies" could be made by giving coupons FIRST then your LOYALTY card to ensure maximum savings.... Has anyone tried this?

I tried it your way a couple of times and it made me anxious not knowing what coupons I had when I needed one that wasn't posted or else when I needed to pull one up in the store. I rarely take my binder into the stores anymore because I rarely browse. I have my coupon clutch with coupons for every store I plan on hitting. I keep "Big Bertha" in the car, just in case. DH now asks me if I have "her" before we start out. LOL! Mizbear: I'm glad I have someone else that does like me. CVS: I spent $3.46 and saved $14.43 doing about 5 transactions. I got 7 candy bars, 2 Skintimate gels, 1 Carefree, 1 Igloo cooler and 1 bag of charcoal. I came back with $1.00 less ECB. Summer stuff wasn't marked 75% off but it was. I was glad to get the cooler for a gift and we use charcoal. CRT was giving free Milky Way or Dove candy bars. I used DH, DF and my card. Staples:I paid $1.06 for Hammermill paper ream and used a $4.00 reward. I'll get back $4.98 in a rebate check, so only $.08 for a ream of paper which I'll donate to my school. Meijer: I spent $85.68 and saved $31.58. I'm not used to spending that much at all and we had a cartload. $15.00 of that was for 3 huge steaks which is for DH's birthday supper tonight and I did get a lot of other meat, produce, my favorite expensive coffee on sale and other stuff. We swung by the women's shelter and I donated a package of Scott paper towels and toilet paper from my Kmart trip last weekend. Overall, a pretty good hounding day.

I guess I could try it at the self check out, but I don't really understand how it would make it a difference.

Their policy says they won't take IP's for free items, but that they will gladly take other IP's, following the same rules as other manufacturer's coupons. I don't believe taking one coupon is really in compliance with the intent of the policy, so I think I will send a little email to their corporate office. Debinwa, I had a similar issue with SW here in Maryland about 2 years ago. I called customer service at corporate twice, they spoke with the store manager, and the problem was no more. So I'm happy now, fwiw. Hope you have similar results. finneme: thanks for your comment. I wrote a quick email to Safeway letting them know that the checker was very nice but that I thought she was given direction that ran counter to their policy. I hope it helps, but if not, there are other Safeways near me who will get my business. I'll cross my fingers though, because I'd rather the issue gets resolved for everyone. I sent a couple of notes to Safeway, and got nonsense in reply. I told them the store manager said corporate said they could only take one coupon, and they replied that the manager can do what he wants. I said he thought it came from corporate, but I don't read that in their policy. Their reply: that's proprietary information they don't give out. Apparently they don't realize they have a policy on their website. I find it so frustrating when I encounter really poor customer service. Holy cow. I may try a phone call before my patience with the whole thing runs out.

Dogsmom I have had SOOO many issues w/the Safeway (Dominicks) store I pass on my way to/from visiting my Dad that the mgr cringes when he sees me coming since I have emailed a complaint to corp about half the time and he has been called to task. The cashiers KNOW to ‘just make it work’ for me. However, this last incident was at a different store near the mall I exercise walk at in inclement weather. Guess I will just have to train another store.
I LOVE Valli & Caputo but they are WAAAY out of my way. I do have a bunch of on my routine routes similar independent markets. Meijer is VERY near my Dad and I hit them when I see a deal I want/need but the Niles store is a different ad than the regular. I shop aldi regularly & have 2 on my routes.

Dancin, I haven't tried it yet myself, but, what the suggestion stated (QUOTE) "I guide the cashier. Because I know that my store won't accept a paper coupon and a digital coupon on the same item, I've started giving all my paper coupons to the cashier before I hand over the loyalty card. I want to make sure I'm using the highest value coupon possible." In theory I think it would work. I usually give my loyalty card first out of habit and watch the discounts as they are rung up, then hand over the coupons, then of course the cash. There have been times I haven't even been asked for my card if I'm there for one or two items... I believe they can scan your card at any time within the transaction, so, to me, the suggestion makes sense. Besides, if you mess up and have digital coupon and a paper one, at least your paper one won't beep.

I clip everything too. Working 60 or more hours a week, I usually have a short "planning" window. And since the nearest store is 20 miles away, though close to work, I have to shop after a long work day. This ensures that I will always have the coupons that I need on hand. I do print a lot of internet coupons that may go unused, but they let me print them free at work. So, i am not losing anything by printing them.

I had to go to the store yesterday for a few things. Milk, eggs, sour cream, cream chz, coffee filters, produce. I did not even have time yesterday to look at my paper, so I decided to go to Walmart. My other options were IGA and Drug Mart. I would have gone to DM, but wasn't sure they would have everything on my list. I get to the milk aisle and almost had a meltdown right there! Store brand gallons were over $4!! I was pi$$ed! LOL, I think there was steam coming outta my ears I was so mad! I have never paid $4 for milk before and refused to yesterday! got 1/2 gallon at 2.24 instead, but was still steaming! I had 30 mins to get home, whip up a dessert and be at a party. No time to stop anyplace else.

IF you find out that it works, please let us know cuz like I said, I can go to the self check out and input my card anytime I want to. ;D

marvholly:Re Just4U program at Safeway: I purposely waited a month or two to sign up so SW could get the bugs out. The first time I bought an item that should have been "free" through JFU, it did not come out free. I had my printed list of the items I'd clicked and just showed it to the cashier. She made it right. Since that one time, everything was going smoothly--until last week. I'd clicked the $1.49 for the Dannon 4 pk and it came out at the regular price. This time I did not have my list as it was a quick in/out trip. I told the cashier and he corrected it. Both times the cashiers were very nice about it but now I'm going to have to keep my eye on the prices as they are scanned. As mentioned in prior post, that can be difficult because of the way SW's computers are programmed. All in a days work, right! Dancinmama: Haven't been here in a day and was surprised to see my post deleted, too. What's really bad is that mentalpause, as you call it, has struck again. I can't remember what I posted. LOL

Dancinmama: Are you saying with the SW self-checkout that you can scan coupons before scanning your club card? I ask because with some of the SW q's the purchase has to be $3 or more to use the q. Open Nature bread is an example: $2.99 with card; $3.59 w/o. If it scans at $3.59, can I then scan the Open Nature $1 q (item has to be $3 or more), and then scan my club card at the end?

Last time I hit my $50 (or should have), it didn't track, but then several days later when I scanned my card, I got my $5 EB.

murpath - you can scan your card at any time right up until you pay. Although you might have to type in your phone number on the credit card reader/pin pad rather than scanning the card, because at self checkout you enter coupons as tender at the end after scanning everything else.

The husband & I went to the coast for the weekend. We had to buy a few things at RA, and I thought "darn, I wish I'd brought my coupons." LOL At least I got a 20% discount on everything (the things we needed were items not on sale.) I don't mind splurging when I'm on vacation, but I definitely don't like to buy something without a coupon, knowing I've got a coupon for it sitting at home! Ah, well...next time I think the coupons are coming with me!

Please be thinking of Buddy the Beagle. We had to take him to the Emergency Clinic and he is in surgery right now for a "male' problem.
