A spin on my thread about a 10 year old. How much do your living expenses cost when broken down to a daily amount? Not savings, not entertainment. For example my monthly expenses like rent, internet, gas (house & car), clothes I actually need vs clothes I just want, food and insurances comes to approximately $1500/month. So I cost about $50/day.

If I bothered to put a number to it, my family would probably decide they can't afford me.

I'm figuring being single I'm one of the more expensive ones. The rest of you get to divide rent and stuff between all the family members.

Using 2 payperiods per month it comes to $123/day, yech!
It's not quite accurate for 'monthly' as I have 26 payperiods per year, but I'm too lazy to figure it out.
And, HA! Doesn't include any fun money or clothes, savings etc

$100 a day, but that's for a family of 5. I don't think I could get that down to $20 if it were just me.

I am around $50 a day for mortgage, taxes and utilities before I count food or other cost like gas for my car so probably more like $60 a day. My boyfriend gives me about 30 a day so if I count that as reduced expense instead of income I am living on $30 a day.

I don't know. What I can tell you is that I once wanted to calculate my daily expenses. My job was hateful and I thought that being able to tell myself that getting through a day had put me ahead by $X would be helpful. I also wanted to smooth my income and expenditures for the purpose of creating a more inspiring line graph of net worth.
Then I considered my situation. I was broke, broke, broke. About 90% of my take-home pay was already spoken for. The extra working days in the month were probably the source of any surplus. And then there was that frustrating distinction between income and cash flows. My income statement showed that I was making quite a bit more than I was spending. My bank balance had a different story.
I decided that creating two line graphs, one illustrating the daily difference between income and expenditure and another illustrating the difference between income and committed cash disbursements, was a questionable use of time and brainpower.
YMMV. Calculating the number might be helpful for folks that are not so close to the edge.

I don't wanna know what I cost per day. Would make me feel bad more than likely.
But all those dancing foods....I now have the peanutbutter jelly time song in my head. I thank you all.

At least $55/day based on my quick calculation. Excluding food, gas, clothes and all that other stuff just added in rent, student loan, car payment and utilities.

A rough calc would put me at somewhere in the $75-80/day range.

It appears I cost $125 a day assuming 30 days in a month.
