I know the new format will be confusing for all of you so if you have questions on where to find something or how to do things, ask on this thread. we do have a how-to section located HERE that explains how to post pictures, add avatars, etc. Here is a quickie guide to coding, in addition. You can do multiple formatting options, of course. Highlight the word, do the first option, highlight the word again, add the second, etc. If you are doing it manually, you have to make sure that you do the closing tags in reverse order, like so: Bold, italic and red text = Bold, italic and red text

What is the quickest way to see the most recent posts you made and if there has been a response or post following yours?

you can see your recent posts by clicking your name to go to your profile (OR clicking the profile button at the top of the page).. it defaults to 10 most recent but you can manually change it to 1000.
to see if someone has replied after you, you can bookmark the topic - look for a link at the top or bottom left of the thread.. you can access your bookmarked threads via your profile as well. once you click the bookmark link in there, you can change your notification preferences.

I have tons of questions. I am so glad to see a place for them finally.
First why do people go into spook houses and then scream and curse the whole time because they are scared? How do those little reflector things on the road stick? If I am in the store and I hear my name on the intercom should I leave everything where it is right then and go to the counter or is there a grace period? Why does toilet paper have designs? There is chocolate milk, vanilla milk, strawberry milk, and even banana milk. Why havent they come out with cereal flavored milk yet? Why dont elevators have emergency kits with water, a rope ladder, and a crow bar in them?

Hiya Weezy! Moon PMd me to let me know you're having trouble getting on the Crap board. Can you tell me what the problem is? I know when you first joined you hadn't activated the account. That would cause problems if you shut it down and then came back but now that it's activated, you shouldn't have any problems. Please, let me know. Thanks Moon!

I have only been around for a few weeks, but it has occasionally happened that I am on the board and then get distracted by other things and forget to log off. In fact I think I was logged on most of last weekend and I wasn't even home...I know, I know, I should turn the computer off, but the question is, is there a downside to this, can it cause problems, etc.

Any idea why I can't see the counter for when I can leave karma again? I've cleaned out my cash and eaten my cookies....

you might post this on the wish list or send vigil a PM.. but i suspect it's related to your browswer. it may even be answered in the wish list thread already if you felt like going through the last several pages..
we're spoiled here...the timer is virgil's creation so when you go to other proboards, you will never see a timer at all. same with not being taken the user's profile after giving karma.. that is virgil's wizardry at work again.

Hmm... Another question... After you reply/post, can you still see the number of pages in a thread, and move through them? Or do you have to leave the thread, and come back?

yes.. if the thread has more than one page, you will be taken to the last one after you post (of course), but then you can navigate to previous pages.

Thanks again The reason I asked is, during the time I couldn't see the counter, I also couldn't see the navigation thingies. But once again, all is well. Looks like everything is working properly. Beats me what the problem was... I hate to think it was an operator error! ;D I hope you have a delightful day!

moon, I have a question. What sort of data movement am I looking at for say, a 5-10 minuet Skype video chat?
I get allotted 6MB of down load capability per month at the price of 230$ US. Sucks I know but can you help me figure out how to see how much data I am chewing up per minuet on Skype???
thanks in advance.

OK.. maybe this will help some. According to this article howtoskype.net/what-is-skype-bandwidth-consumption/The bandwidth consumption during a regular audio Skype call varies according to how broad is your network traffic. The average speech call takes about 5-16kb per second, that means you are consuming 57MB per hour. Start worrying if you make these calls from a mobile phone, since we know that they are limited, and start chargin extra after the limit. A Video communication is through can get up to 30-70kb per second. I think I would suggest trying the steps in this article to gather data on your bandwidth usage. That would be the best way to really know, especially since the above is only for speech, not video. support.skype.com/en-us/faq/FA10415/Can-I-see-how-much-bandwidth-a-video-call-is-using
