"Some dirt bag hit my Suburban this weekend! It was a parking lot shot. Either at my kid's game Saturday night or when I was out to dinner with the family last night. I think it happened at the restaraunt. Not a lot of damage. Obviously it was a nose to nose shot and whoever did it ran."
that sux.
apparently I am having trouble learning how to use the quote thingy.

The quote thingy is a little tricky at first, and it's not as slick as MSN's if you just want to quote part of it, but it works pretty good. Either hit the "quote" button at the upper right of the post you want to quote, and then delete the non-pertinent parts of the quote if you need to. Or in the message box just type [ quote ] (without the spaces) before a what you want to quote, then copy and paste, then type [ /quote ] (without the spaces) at the end of it.

Me too.
I always do a double take now when I see the initials, PK. It's engrained in my brain. I couldn't change my screen name and remember who I was. LOL

Howdy everyone. I tried to quote someone too and it didn't do what I saw others look like. And this thing with the karma is cool. You go to the person's profile, like you are going to PM them. Under their name will show the following as a clickable link: [exalt] When you click on it, the person gets another karma point. I do not know other than that, what exactly are karma points. But I have 2! OH! and put your cursor over your own karma point(s) and you see your status. I'm grasshopper. lol

karma is essentially a feedback system. You can exalt (give karma) once an hour.. if you want the person you exalted to know, we have a nifty little icon to use...otherwise it's anonymous. if you look to the right of the quick reply box, you should see some smileys, and the word list with an up arrow.. click that and there are more smileys to choose from, like this one..

the thing with quoting is you have to make sure that you aren't missing a "piece"
all the code here starts with [ CODE HERE ] and ends with [/ CODE HERE]. the / tells it to stop doing whatever you had told it to do before.. be it bolding, adding a color, quoting... so usually, a typo is responsible for it not looking right.. you can preview before you post..

Of course, this is dependent on the browser you're using, and the settings on said browser. Some poor saps (like me) accessing this site from work have tight security settings and no ability to change them, which means I don't see all the smileys. But things are always changing, so I never know when they'll show up or not.

Yeah, it's just a pain in the ass because the damage is purely cosmetic. And you know that no matter what it'll be a bunch of cash to fix it. Oh sure I'll turn it in on my insurance, but that sucks too.

I didnt have a crash. I did have a family reunion yesterday. That was fun. Sad though. Only 3 of the original 12 brothers and sisters are left with us. Life changes things when you arent lookin.

Not really. Just some downed small branches. No flooding or trees down. My parents (in Loudoun Co.) lost a tree which landed on their deck, but no damage to the deck.

You know what really sucks, at least in my state, if you choose to pay for collision coverage on your policy a hit & run claim goes under collision & is a chargable claim. If you have a liability only policy, hit & run goes under uninsured motorist coverage, is not a chargable claim & only has a $200 ded. How's that for unfair?
