Westboro Baptist Church To Picket Funerals Of Arizona Shooting Victims

Westboro Baptist Church, the Topeka church known for its inflammatory anti-gay protests, plans to picket the funerals of the six people gunned down in Arizona on Saturday.

In a flier posted on its web site, the controversial church writes, "THANK GOD FOR THE SHOOTER -- 6 DEAD!" The message continues:
God appointed this rod for your sins! God sent the shooter! This hateful nation unleashed violent veterans on the servants of God at WBC--hoping to silence our kind warning to obey God and flee the wrath to come.

Well I certainly am not "publicizing" this, I was appalled by it, and thought I would post it for awareness. I hardly think Huff Post is trying to publicize this as well. It is disgusting and I assume it is just out there to show people the depths deranged people will go to to advance their sick agendas.

They protest Elizabeth Edwards funeral but as far as I heard, not one funeral goer had to hear their bullshit. Hopefully its the same in this case.

I hope that if enough people know about their plans, they will be able make it difficult for them to disrupt or dishonor the funerals.

It would take only a small select group having knowledge of their plans to make it difficult to disrupt the funerals. In my mind, they can only dishonor themselves by their actions.

God, sweet-- I have hated those people for so long. They never stop, do they?? Not much chance they will get far here in AZ, though. Sentiments are running high here. My kids told me some idiot started a facebook tribute page for the shooter. How sick is that?? It may be down by now-- at least I hope so. Those Westborough people-- arwe they an alien species, or what?? How can human beings act that way?? I will never get it. I would love to run in to some of them some day. I would probably end up in jail, though, with my temper.

This group gives God a bad name. They were going to show up here in NC to protest the funeral of a slain solder. They ask the law inforcement for protection for their march or protest. Law inforcement said sorry we will be to busy to assist you. They did not show up. I hope someone is keeping an eye on this group. The longer they go on it seems their retoric gets more intense on each occasion. Some could jump over the edge.

I hope they will not be able to get close enough to the family members of the victims at the funerals. I cannot fathom what can make people think the way they do, or do the heinous things they do.

The WBC said they were going to protest at the funeral of a local (California) Marine who was killed in Iraq. More than 2,000 of our local citizens showed up to block them (if they showed) so that the mourners would not have to see or hear them. It was an amazing show of solidarity to counter these idiots. It turns out that Elizabeth Edwards funeral was the same day, and the WBC opted to protest there, instead. But the point was ... there were enough caring people willing to give up their time to keep the WBC from bothering the mourners here.

I am certain that there will be more than enough people in Arizona, and who are willing to travel to Arizona, to do the same for the families of the six who died.

Actually Bills...I'd like to see WBC protests like this publicized so that supporters of the family can make arrangements to put a barricade of motorcycles...people...flags...monster trucks...brick walls...high rise buildings...whatever it takes between the WBC idiots and the greiving families.
