Turn both timers over at the start at the same time. When the 4 minute timer runs out of sand turn both glasses over again. when the 3 minutes remaining in the seven minute timer runs out turn them both over again, when the 1 minute left in the 4 minute timer runs out turn over the seven minute timer . you have your nine minute egg. Elevation of course will play havoc with cooking times.

3. SWAT (n.), Specialized War Attack Team
4. sin (n.), go against the teachings of the Lord
5. moron (n.), Ignoramus

8. layman (n.), Bricklayer's apprentice.
9. draconian (adj.), Like Draco
10. lambaste (v.) Loud (Bonus: one karma to you if you can give the literal meaning of "C-SPAN") Cspan = Countrywide Span
BONUS: hell (n.) - The place where Satan lives

Nice work on 61, Beer and Jarhead. (Although math avoidance is a skill you should be ashamed of. ) As for #244: 1. Incorrect. 2. Incorrect. 3. Incorrect. 4. Correct, although could be more specific. 5. Incorrect. 6. Incorrect. 7. Correct. 8. Incorrect. 9. Not specific enough. 10. Incorrect. (Bonus incorrect.) BONUS: Incorrect, both literally and scripturally. (Toughies, ain't they? ) I generally karmalize the winners quite a few times. Not that you really need it.

Re #250 (remember, we're looking for literal meanings): 1. Not the literal meaning. 2. Not the literal meaning. 3. Very close, but not quite. 4. Again very close. But to transgress against what? 5. Not the literal meaning. 6. Not specific enough. Every chesterfield is a sofa, but not every sofa is a chesterfield. 7. Correct. 8. Not the literal meaning. 9. Incorrect. 10. Not the literal meaning. BONUS: Close enough. Huh... Oh... you. (Uncia lover. ) 2. enormity - hugeness, vastness (Not the literal meaning.)3. SWAT- special weapons and tactics (Correct.)4. sin - a deed against a moral standard (e.g., lust or sloth) (Close enough. To sin is defined as "to transgress against a moral law".)6. chesterfield- couch. (Not specific enough.)7. yuppie - Young Urban Professional (Correct.)

Probably not a spoiler, just a wild guess. 10. lambaste - Basting is used in cooking to make something tasty, and a lamb is a meek little thing. So lambasting is like raking some meek little thing over the coals like you're cooking them. C-SPAN = Congressional - Special Political Access Network

6. This may be too specific, but my granddad had one that looked like... A leather couch where the height of the back was the same as the heights of the two side arms.

Your answers are right, IHOP, they're just not the literal definitions that the problem is asking for.
If I ask you for the literal definition of "high" in the sentence "We were smoking up and getting high", the correct response is "at or to a considerable height", not "a state of drug-induced euphoria", even though the latter is clearly what is meant in the context.

Ummm.... you specifically stated that sin was a noun (thus it is a deed) not a verb (to transgress). I should get extra karma for that.

Correct. Close enough. A chesterfield is a sofa or divan that necessarily has both a prominent back and arms. A noble guess, but unfortunately incorrect.

Apparently it wasn't right, beff. (Correct is Cable-Satellite Public Affairs Network.) (To be honest, I'd forgotten the answer and yours looked close enough. )
