And according to the BLS own website, they do NOT include the total number of businesses closed / death. In red just for you.

To smallbiz......yes we have issues and problems. I wont dispute some of your facts. But....some of us still see earnings being the catalyst that makes the markets go higher.

That is what I want to see also. But when 70% of our GDP is based on American consumer spending, and consumers are bringing in less money, then earnings will also be lower. Which will reduce the price of the stocks.

When the Federal unemployment extension ends in Dec 2011, there will be a decrease in consumer spending starting in 2012. I look for a market to bottom shortly after that. That will be the time to buy stocks IMHO.
