On August 9th, just what did the Fed say?

At least the Fed pretty much capitulated and said they will not do anything until fall of 2013 because we ain't goin anywhere from here.
They "saved" Obama and "shafted" him in the same sentence, pushing interst rate changes until after the next election, and basically told Congress we can't do anything with this mess and it is up to Congress to come together, and do something.

Now Obama is off the hook for the economy, according to the Fed.
At least they did not blame Bush.
We, evidently are in worse shape than anyone realizes, if the Fed says they are out of magic bullets and Congress will basically have to start balancing the budget, or else.

The Federal Reserve changed their outlook for the economy based on the lack of confidence both they and the rating agencies have for our elected officials to deal with our debt crisis.

BTW Reid just appointed Murray, Baucus, and Kerry to the Super Committee and now Pelosi, Boehner and McConnell have to announce who they want on this committee.....the stock and bond markets are watching these appointments with keen interest as you can imagine

Did anyone see Jimy Cramer on CNBC ?? He was rating and raving about his call to buy high yield stocks and a trader walked behind him and gave a thumbs down behind his bald head....hilarious but probably tells you what the Wall St Traders think of Jim Cramer IMHO

Will he blame the Tea Party again for this sell off today??? I read some other threads that claimed the TP is solely responsible for the markets downfall for the last week...but when asked for backup for that claim you only get a lof of fluff with no substance.

I think the Die Hard Liberals and Obama Supporters who are blaming the Tea Party for today's market sell off are giving them far too much credit and they need to find another scapegoat..

The sell off is due to debt fears in the markets and NOT due to the Tea Party ....

you wish (and so do i). 1987 was a very short snap in the middle of a spectacular bull market. the market was actually UP in 1987, i believe. this is the third down leg of a secular bear market. it looks more like 2008 than 1987. the market is going to get crushed, in all likelihood. it has little to do with Obama, and the fact that we are in a long period of adjustment following the equities bubble in 2001, the real estate bubble in 2007 and the derivatives bubble in 2008. this should play itself out by 2014-2018.
