A bit off topic but I saw Dennis Miller the other night on Leno and he had (something like) this to say: If Bush was a moron for getting us into this mess, what does it say about the person replacing him that can't fix it?

I like both of them. Dennis has a sense of humor many people can't "get" and I find that very funny. In a stand up routine on the same show (which I didn't think was up to his normal standards) he said something about going to the "Air and Space Museum" and that people shouldn't worry because there actually was stuff there they could see. It took the audience a painfully long time to "get" it.

It's a great pity the right of free speech isn't based on the obligation to say something sensible.

Hmm. If my neighbor runs over his dog with the lawnmower and kills both, I might be able to repair the lawnmower (depending on how much damage was done). The dog, however, will remain dead.

As I was cleaning the kitchen floor I was thinking about it. I remember that for the 8 years that President Bush was in office the "normal" liberal saying was "It's Bush's fault". Reading the boards during that time I must have seen "It's Bush's fault" thousands of times. It turned into the liberals party motto. Well just two years of President Obama's "rule" has sure changed their party motto. Now their most common saying is "Would you like fries with that".

i voted against bush and against obama the only chance we have is vote out the incumbents every time. once it isn't a self serving lucrative career with booze, sex and drug parties, we will get civic duty minded people back.

If you dropped and shattered an 18th century royal Qianlong porcelain vase (which one sold at auction last year for 87 million US dollars) into a thousand tiny pieces, would it still be worth 87 million dollars even if the best ceramic conservator glued it back together?

I remember being scared for our nation when Obama got elected. I remember being mad that so many couldn't see the handwriting on the wall. I remember choking on the Healthcare Bill that was being rammed down our throat. I remember seeing our country fall trillions deeper into debt. I remember the Libs telling me that I'd forget my anger and accept it all in time. Well, I haven't forgotten and my anger hasn't subsided. If fact, I'm madder now than ever before. SO THERE! LOL, I revised it to fit my believe. I remember being scared for our nation when Bush was elected. I remember being mad that so many couldn't see the handwriting on the wall. I remember choking as two wars being rammed down our throat. I remember cutting taxes and insuring we will be a debtor nation for decades to come. I remember seeing our country fall trillions deeper into debt. I remember barrowing money from China in order to fight the useless wars. I remember Bush pushing Fannie and Freddie to ease lending so every moron can buy a house. I remember the Nut jobs telling me that I'd forget my anger and accept it all if I just wore a flag pin on my jacket. Well, I haven't forgotten and my anger hasn't subsided. If fact, I'm madder now than ever before that we are in a situation like this because of one corrupt administration. SO THERE!

I still rememberThe good ole days when living was easy and so were the ladies... And I could fill up my '62 Corvette for @ $5.00 and drive down to Tijuana Mexico to watch the Bull Fights, and not worried about being shot. Although I came close to be shot during the Watts riots in the summer of '64 on the Harbor Freeway in Los Angeles CA.

I remember his apology tours regarding the US as he travelled to other countries. I remember him laughing with the tax-cheat, Jeffrey Immelt saying "shovel ready jobs weren't shovel ready." I remember so well whe he said he wouldn't allow the unemployment to go over 8%. Ahhh, yes we remember it well!! K to you when my last one expires.

I remember when poltics and the markets were not even on my radar scope... and I never heard of terms such as "Liberals", "Conservatives" "Tea Party" "Trolls" "Political Wonks" and "Mods"......and making big bucks in the stock markets was goal #1....

I remember the night of the inauguration. Though I didn't believe in him or vote for him, I had high hopes that the majority knew better than I did and I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and had no other options anyway. I didn't understand how Rush could say something like "I hope he fails". The majority didn't know better than I did, and I understand now why some wanted him or at least his policies to fail.

Obama is going to be in for a rough time over the next few months. And it will be interesting to see if he can survive or not??. Everything will depend on how well our economy performs until the elections in 2012...IMHO

I remember being angry with Bush for spending too much. Then Obama got elected and I'd like nothing more than to go back to the fiscal irresponsibility of the Bush administration.

He'll say, "We tried the GOP spending cuts and look where it got us. We need to raise taxes, and spend more money."

I was listening live when Rush said, "I hope he fails" and I knew then what he meant, and I couldn't have hoped more than I still do that Obama fails. For America to succeed, Obama must fail.

I sure wish that liberals would stick to one thing. First they say that Republicans are for big business & not for the people. Then they say that they hate the poor & want to see them starve. Then when one of 'THEIR' FOR for the poor laws backfires & causes a melt down, all of a sudden it's the Republicans that were passing something that would help poor people buy houses that caused all of the mess.
Democrats caused the housing bubble plain & simple.

We never talked about it But I hear the blame was mine I'd call you up to say I'm sorry But I wouldn't want to waste your time 'Cos I love you, but I can't take any more There's a look I can't describe in your eyes Yes we could try, like we tried before When you kept on telling me those lies Do you remember...? There seemed no way to make up 'Cos it seemed your mind was set And the way you looked it told me It's a look I know I'll never forget You could've come over to my side You could've let me know You could've tried to see the difference between us But it seemed too far for you to go. Do you remember...? Through all of my life In spite of all the pain You know people are funny sometimes 'cos they just can't wait To get hurt again Do you remember...? There are things we won't recall Feelings we'll never find It's taken so long to see it Cos we never seemed to have the time There was always something more important to do More important to say But "I love you" wasn't one of those things And now it's too late Do you remember...? Sorry, had to do it.

Democrats caused the housing bubble plain & simple. Nothing new here the last administration needed even the poor and dumb to be in debt buying houses that they could not afford in order to keep a failing economy going. They needed everyone to borrow and spend. Republicans caused the housing bubble with poor oversight and greed. As a democrat, I have always supported the notion that anyone that could afford a house should be able to buy one. Afford means 20% down and no more the 28% of income for house payment. If you don’t fall within the guidelines you cant afford to buy one.

Txbo just because you feel that way (which I agree with BTW) doesn't lessen the FACT that Democrats wrote & passed a bill loosening lending standards to allow more "poor" to qualify for houses. Did mortgage companies & banks make bad loans....sure they did BUT most of those bad loans were within the lending guidelines that the democrats put in place. Once again I'll say:
The democrats were responsible for the housing bubble.
