I don't mind either the UK or the US versions but prefer the UK.

I've only watched the US version a few times. It's not bad.

I recently bought my next car. It has been 25 years since the last one(kinda sounds like confession), but I went and did it. Corvette Grand Sport Convertible. Still have not been able to duplicate advertised performance numbers. Chevrolet: 0-60 3.95 seconds. Me: 0-60 6.0 seconds(forgot to shift) Chevrolet: 190 mph top speed. Me: 85 mph (too many officers of the law) Chevrolet: 100 - 0 panic stop 177 feet Me: I just panicked. Chevrolet: 1.0 G skid pad. Me: .45 G, (Must have to go 190 first) But it does look mighty cool in the driveway.

I was going to say take it to the track but then I noticed it was a convertible. Enjoy and be careful.

Rick
When you noted the Ford GT40, did you mean the original 60's version. the kit car version (ERA, etc..) or the retro Ford(current)?

The BMW M3 looks like a nice car but somewhat more than I want to spend. Maybe a used one?

M3's are cool but major maintenance. They are very desireable in amateur racing so the cost doesn't go down all that quickly.
For grins I looked at the Hyundai Gensis Coupe online yesterday. I was surprised how much the top end model was. Has anyone ever driven one or know someone who owns one? Hyundai's quality is supposed to be on the rise and this car has always looked interesting to me when I've seen one in a parking lot.

Hyundai quality is right up there with the best mainstream manufacturers now. (no, I don't own one, or have any business ties with the company.) After 40 years of driving p/u trucks I'm looking at either a Corolla or a Cruze for a errand runner. Might be that first taste of front wheel drive.

DH has an '04 (c5) corvette Z06 and adores it. Just our experience, but it sorta seems like the c5 generation might be a little more reliable than the c6's--his coworker has had to take his c6 z06 in a couple of times for major work (which may well be related to all the aftermarket work he'd had done on it!). And, last time I was out on the track with him, a c6 z06 literally blew its engine right in front of us: going 105 mph on the straight, suddenly got a fine spray of motor oil all over the windshield and then we were completely enveloped in smoke. That was exciting.

My car sucks for accelerating quicly. Which is not fun with some of the short on ramps/merge areas around here.
There is no such thing as a short ramp with a WRX, you have have to press harder to get up to speed :-)
