Hi everyone I've lurked around here for a long time and posted a few times on the old MSN boards, but I looked over my budget this morning and realized that I SERIOUSLY blew my budget last month and need to basically not spend a penny more than necessary this month to catch up. I think the only things that I'll truly need until my next paycheck (when I have a new line item for groceries- but still not much!) are diapers, milk, and possibly some items to take to work for lunch if I can't figure something out in the kitchen. I do coupon, but I've been really lazy about it recently and need to get back on the train! So, I'm looking for help in keeping me accountable this month and I figure you ladies are the best people to do that!!! -Alecia

] I will take Ensure or Boost coupons from anyone who has them- I donate tem to the oncology center where MamaBear takes her chemo treatments. It really helps the other patients. MizBear: I will gladly mail you those coupons - I know I have many of them! Just PM me your address, ok? Did you get the Ricola coupon in your inserts? If so, that is one I desperately need. For everyone: I too use a database & I LOVE it. Because I do get misc coupons & it was too hard to remember what I have. Now I just look it up. And, when I've used all the coupons I have I gray it out so that I know not to bother looking for that coupon since there's none left. In addition to the database, I just do the date on the insert like DancinMama & many others. Madisonsgmom: LOL! I too have been using coupons for over 20 years and only found out this year about the date on the inserts. BluesClues: Oy vey. So many people in your house! As to freezing milk - I freeze 2%. I put it into separate containers. I generally measure 2 and 1/4 cups into each containers. The reason for that is that you will get some loss, and I find I usually need 2 cups of milk for most recipes. I wouldn't recommend storing it in the original container because if it is full there is probably not enough head room in there for expansion. Also, I think you'd be better off using a container that is more freezer-friendly - ie a more solid plastic. The milk does separate - so you have to stir it. I don't generally "drink" milk - I use it in cereal, and in cooking. So for me this method works. I don't know if you drink it if it will not taste quite the same. You'll have to try & experiment & see what you think. HTH

Kathy, I would do the same thing, sit at the computer and enter each coup. on HCW and then file, sometimes the sheets would be loose so I have no idea which insert they belong in,...will still have to do that with the loose ones but the whole inserts will be soooo much easier to file... I tell you what, I am sitting here at work and my co workers prob. think I am crazy cause I have hollored right out when I found out this little tidbit !! I sooo wanna go home and file !!! Crazy isnt it!! LOL - Too cute! I understand.

I don't know if this question has already been asked and answered, but here goes~ On the back of the RA ad, it says $10 UP WYB $30 of P & G. Now is that just the P & G stuff that they have listed on the back, or can I buy Crest Mouthwash at 4/$20, a Proglide Razor, and a bottle of Dawn to spend just over $30? That would be SO bloody awesome. Let's see, that would be a $10 UP, a $10 SCR, another $5 UP, use some MQ's....Dang, it's too early for this. Also, I have extra P & G booklets, so if anyone needs anything, give a holler! Hi Home6, It's just the products on that page. The proglide and crest rinse do not work for the deal. But if you do the Crest Rinse and the Oral B TB that are part of the SCR, you will get the 5$ Oral Care Up. HTH Thanks, saveinla~ I knew it was too good to be true..but I will do the crest rinse for the SCR's for sure. I need to plan some more.

I didn't 'go over budget' persay, but last month I put a grand total of NOTHING in my savings account. Between $500 in car repairs, overdue registration and back taxes on The Man's pick-truck (thanks, The Man!), and insurance due this month...I need to get back on track as well!

Non-fat milk freezes well. For some reason, anything with fat in it does not. I have kept it for a month past the expiration date with no problem. I have never tried to keep it frozen before using it long term. What I find works for me the best is to use regular milk for drinking and dry milk for cooking. The dry milk is not that much cheaper, but it is good to have in an emergency AND if you use it for cooking you end up not having to run to store for drinking milk quite as often. HTH Is 2% considered non fat enough for you to freeze? Fry's has a good deal 4 cereals $10 minus Qs and get 2 free gallons. I did it last night but was going to go back for more today if I can freeze the milk. It would be used within a month. Also, do you have to open it and pour a little out? I didn't open it up and poor a little out. The container did expand in the freezer (bulged out at the sides) but easily contained all the milk inside. The 2% did separate and when I thawed it out, it did not appeal to me for drinking. I used it for cooking. I usually don't buy 2% because I don't drink it, but we had house guests that did; I bought (2) gallons and ended up only using one.

If you think posting your shopping trips and what coupons you used will help you keep yourself accountable, we'll be more than happy to cheer you on. Are you hooked up with a blog that lists the best deals for the grocery stores available to you? If you post what area of the country you are from and what stores you have available to you, there might be a gal who lives in the same region who can suggest a good blog that you could follow. HTH

There are new SC Johnson coupon booklets at Meijer with $19.00 worth of coupons. Last year there were several promotions with the Glade, Scrubbing Bubbles and Ziplock products. I loved the rebates they had too when you got $5.00 for buying any 3 products. As I recall, you could do several rebates. I wish they would bring that offer back.

Thanks for the milk responses. I do actually drink it as well as use in cereal so taste would matter. I'll pass on this deal for now. I froze one so I'll see how that goes before I try again.

debinwa You will not be able to get a 3/15 for the surveys you just received. July 26th was the last date for the 3/15. Any receipts after that may have a survey printed, but, if you look closely, it does NOT offer a coupon if/when you do it. Sorry Any coupons with survey attached, dated 7/26 (or within 14 days prior) will be offered the $3 coupon at the register... RATS! You are right! I see there is no information on them with regard to the $3-- sob . I have been reading over the last day or two that people have been able to do online surveys again and print out their coupons. I assume they are using receipts they got a week or two ago, but at least that's working again. Not for long, I guess, since the surveys with coupon are probably gone. Somebody needs to come up with a new surprise for all of us.

I would feel the same way as you with regard to using your stockpile like that. I kind of hate using paper towels just because I find it wasteful, even if they're free. When we go on vacation, we have a house sitter stay with our pets, and he must use paper towels for everything, because he goes through TONS of them. Our grown kids shop our stockpile, and I'm happy to have them do so, but we do hide a few of our 'prime' items to keep for ourselves. Sometimes I feel a little guilty, but not for long! RE: going through lots of paper towels, I always remember the Sham-Wow guy saying "You're spending $20 a week on paper towels". I just would think, gee I thought we use a lot, but maybe only a roll a week or so. Maybe these are the people he was talking about! For sure!

Deb it's my father, sister, niece and her baby. So have your dad and sister moved in too? I was under the impression you just had the niece and baby living with you. Or are they just visiting? I hope they haven't all descended on you permanently!

I'm beginning to get rather miffed. I was planning to print the cottonelle Q's from their website and pick up some more TP. I tried on Sunday but had no luck, which I attributed to being unfamiliar with my new printer. I figured that now, since it's a new month, I'd try again. Nope. won't work. AND trying to print them makes my firefox very unhappy. I've never had firefox go unresponsive on me until I tried printing these Q's. urgh!

leanna - now I do. LOL. Oh well. I didn't really NEED more, but I have room to stockpile. I'll just watch and wait for another good deal. (doesn't make me any less irritated that I wasn't able to print any cottonelle Q's though. )

Ok, good, well at least I saved you from overspending on the Cottonelle. Sorry the q's aren't printing for you.
Cottonelle q's also sometimes come in the inserts.
