On Friday, July 22nd the Hong Kong Mercantile Exchange will start trading dollar denominated silver futures contracts with the hopes of tapping into the growing demand for the metal in China and India. The new contract will enable buyers and sellers in China to trade effectively with their counterparts around the world, while at the same time allowing investors to gain exposure to silver price movements and broaden their investment portfolio.
lets see what happens to silver prices tomorrow. it should be interesting.

LOL, the thing is, it will probably will lead to a spike. Funny, because it's PAPER that will cause this spike. PAPER, not the metal the illusion of safety.. Hmmm

Yet your reply #4 didn't make it seem that you wanted to discuss anything with anybody, just be a smart ass. You succeeded at that, and only that.

Maui1, If you are expecting an intelligent dialog on this message board , I wish we could, but as long as you have gremlins (rat pack) blowing themselves up in microwaves and pulverizing in blenders, well, it just can't evolve into anything other than a one line show

Nah, just the stragglers from the herd are the ones who get eaten first. Those outside the herd will be the hunters, not the hunted.
Gold and Silver are the currency of the ages. Appears it will be again as paper money becomes worth less and less = worthless.

Small Biz Owner, well said. It is said I am a pushing gld & slv. Why yes I am durring this currency war. And then they say what good wil it be if the debt note collapses and you can not collect on your sl and gld.
Why it will be worth the correct value of the coined money. Which would mean durring this currency war we are in,that things will simply have to readjust in proper value.
Small Biz Owner,do you think that housing declined prices are adjusting to the coined term,'real value?' And if so then that is a light as to the readjustment of the paper note not backed by anything but promise. And that would be things coming to be. A readjustment to today's coined term, 'real value.' Investors used to set the 'real value',however somehow that got rearrainged as to the corporation making that call instead of the investor.

Just my opinion, housing prices will revert to the median family income x3. So as incomes continue to fall so will home prices.
Banks are not willing to lend more than income x3, so fewer buyers now qualify. In the heyday of ARMs and interest only loans you could qualify for up to x8 (or more) income to buy a house.
50K a year and get a $400K or more house. Problem was buyers were unable to service the mortgage to keep them. You know the rest of the story.....

if 'real value' is less than today's value, it means that most commodities needed to build a house will go lower as well.......which i don't think will happen.
imo- home values are undervalued and will be, but not for being over 'real value' which would imply that you could build replacements for less.
right now...replacement costs are equal to, or more than, sale value in many areas of the nation.

Funny reading these old posts and seeing how many people were on the wrong side of the metals and the market.
Silver down almost 60% from less than two years ago.
