I'm going to jump right in and pick AAPL (Long) for next week as I see it rising in value as we approach the earnings report.

I'll give INTC a shot. I might pick some up for my wife's IRA next week and if I can get it to tank a little arly in the week by picking it here, more's the better.

I'm sticking with my usual steed, URTY. Long.
If anyone is interested, I posted an interesting chart on yclept's 5/15/50 thread showing the support/resistance trading range we're in.
Here's hoping for a breakout!
Long URTY, the Russell 2000 3x ETF.

Long AIT (Applied Industrial Technologies - Industrial Equipment Wholesale)
As was mentioned by 2k10h a lot of stocks and indexes are trading near resistance levels. This company has 0 D/E, a low PEG of .91, a 2.11% dividend and 2.09/share cash. I own a covered call position in this company.
I still like the refiners as well with the crack spread moving back above 30 but TSO looked to be at some heavy resistance.

What happened Friday to cause 11%+? Do you think it'll spike?

Marshabar, I wish that I could tell you that my crystal ball was always polished, and always gave me great answers for future events. I mostly claim to be a chartist..... still trying to learn how to spell "fundamentals". HNSN's chart (daily & weekly) is heading north, and I don't think either has spiked yet. It has a rising On Bal. Vol., also. I intend to monitor the pre-market trades some. And I don't know what caused the 11%+ bump Friday. I have some favorite web sites that I click on for chart information. Point and figure charts are not as valuable on a stock in the price range that HNSN is trading at. Might be an interesting week. I've checked charts for the other "horses" entered this week; and they all look good.

I'm going with CMFO (China Marine Food Group) - long. Quite a lot of the food processing stocks did well on Friday and are at or near their 52-week high. CMFO has been steadily trending upward for the last two weeks, but hasn't had a big leap. Maybe this week... <<crossing fingers>>

NXPI... NXP Semiconductor,N.V. high risk with beta of about 3.0 my estimate The bet on this stock is LONG!!! For the dividend or option ??
This is a hot Tech firm.. All AI and other properties that are 100% intangible like EURO..
makes a lot of money on the next generation Debit Cards that can talk to the register without crossing the bars.. built in chips that they do not make.. they own no FAB's.
This was part of Phillips Electronic for years.. Price target is $50.00 Current price Friday was 26.07 price to book= 5.77 PE 81.21 I had a broker call me on this one and would not take no for an answer.. Told him I lived on my dividends and was retired.. and he keep going on and on..
Just a wild bet on wild stocks with very high PE...

Aren't horse races more fun ? when there's a little controversy..?? Rovo, I think you're correct on all $ opens..... but recheck NXPI., if you will. Both Bigcharts and Scottrade has the opening quote at $25.44 (not $24.44)., but that's still lower than Friday's close. I know you have not assigned this effort to me, but I was a proj. manager for too many years....just a habit. I even do this on golf scores....... LOL

Argh. When I saw INTC dropping a bit further after the open I put an order out there in my wife's IRA at $22.75, but it looks like it got to just about there before reversing. Now I'm watching it run away from me. C'est le vie. Always tomorrow...

I would like it to be my Intel as well. I almost chased it to 22.80 earlier, but then I checked the ExDiv and realized I probably have a couple weeks to play with. I hope for you that I end up buying it around 23.50.
