I filed my federal taxes earlier this week. I am ecstatic about the refund I am getting. I know most of it probably due to my SRB I received last year. I don't like how so much taxes are taken out of it up front, but I would have spent it. I will be using the $1500 of the refund towards my MC and put the remaining $500 in my savings account.

Argh. I am putting my taxes together. And I'm annoyed. And I have stuff to do this year, and if I don't, I'm going to have house damage and I'm so frustrated. And now I'm going to have to revise my goal to 12,000, because I know absolutely I have to get my pointing done before the fall... *sigh*

Still in turtle mode. I paid down more this month then I thought I was going to be able to but that was because I had room in my budget since I didn’t spend as much on certain things as I had budgeted. My sister’s loan payment is going back on hold right now. I am paying back a loan from my aunt at $5 a week that currently has a $25 balance so I am thinking that as soon as that is paid off I will pay the $5 a week to my sister so at least her number is going down a little until I can start to make larger payments again. I did my taxes yesterday and am only coming away with $50. I had budgeted in a payment of $150 just incase so actually I am at a $200 surplus but I thought that it would be more because I had changed my deductions. I need to make that $200 pay for the annual vet visit as well as an unexpected invite to a baby shower and a bachelorette party that I guess I tried to block out of my mind that I would have to attend. I am hoping that my DF can pay some if not all of that vet visit because then I know the $200 can cover the other expenses. Rent is due tomorrow and my DF swore he would have his half this time because they have been working here and there since the weather is improving but of course he doesn’t. We are about $300 short so I am going to have to call the landlord to see if we can pay Friday instead since I had trusted him that he would have his share this month. That would put a damper on my budget for next month but I always find a way to work things out. I just hope that they understand in waiting the 3 extra days. The cheaper apartment search isn’t going so well either. My mother and I looked at couple of places and both of us felt that they weren’t the right fit for us financially right now either. I received a balance transfer in the mail the other day for 0% financing on transfers for 15 months then 19.99% after that. I sent it in to try and transfer my Target balance onto it. My father and I worked it out that even with the 3% transfer fee I would be able to pay off an additional $1,250 then I would have if I kept the cards the same. I am trying not to be too optimistic about getting the card because I know $4,300 is a lot to transfer but it would certainly help a lot. Hopefully as the summer approaches things will get better!

There's my update for 3/1/11. Still a higher total than when I started, but at least lower than last month. I did my taxes last week, and plan to put $2,000 toward CC debt. I'm VERY excited about that. Also, I got engaged a couple of weeks ago and have big plans to use SAVINGS and not cards for an elopement this summer ;D I'll probably be posting a separate thread for elopement tips soon! Yay!

If all goes as planned, I am now 9 months away from paying off my first loan which is our Camp Mortgage. That payment will then snowball into the Apartment Mortgage. Although the Apartment Mortgage is my HIGHEST remaining loan, it is also the loan with the next highest interest rate.
I don't want to wish my life away and plan to enjoy this year thoroughly, but I do look forward to making the final payment on that mortgage and actually OWNING at least one property!!!
Everyone seems to be doing well. I haven't been able to check in as often as I would like. Working hard on getting a handle on our budget/spending. Using YNAB. I love it!!!!

One year anniversary and I'm down almost 2000 dollars. Not too bad for a year with some ups and downs. Still turtling along right now. I have some money coming back from my taxes and I'm not sure what to do with it. I can put it on either of my 2 little cards and just about wipe them out, but my job situation is not very good right now so I think I'm going to put half on a card and half in savings. I'm going to really have to bust my butt to have this stuff paid off before October. That's when my student loans come into repayment (they are in forbearance until then). idlecrush Read more: notmsnmoney.proboards.com/index.cgi#ixzz1FMWfyK5l

ok...I'm a little rattled right now. the most senior guy in my group just got let go this morning. I mean, the most brilliant guy in my entire department. um....wtf?!? he came in, looking for our boss so he could say goodbye (he's been working at a different site) and we couldn't find the boss. this really sucks.

I know I am turtling along, I admit that I am itching to throw extra at this debt to get it paid off earlier, but I am keeping in my saving mode, socking away as much as I can. I know my job is pretty secure, but I also thought that last October when I got laid off.

coffeegirl hasn't sent any of us captains emails in a month so for now I guess we are just going along as best we can. She did set up a captain acct for us and has been given "mod" status so she has been here, I think she is just trying to get things straight. West Co-captain

Hi everyone I have tried to update the 50-100k list as best I can. I am not as good as bankergirl but welcome to sunshinegal1981.Since we aren’t yet getting regular updates of smileys/sheets if your total isn’t correct please post a single update line like you normally would on the thread and I will fix everyone. I did as best I could with just searching for people. notmsnmoney.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=wir&thread=2616&page=1

Just as I was getting used to being at the "top" of a list... (50-100k) I jump off of it. Murphy came to vist me and I had to use my savings, but I did not use a Card!! I will start my EF fund again. Until I found you guys, I would have never even thought of having an EF, because my cards could cover anything. Thanks for the support!
