Wow Debtheaven: I came over here to see if you won your race (wahoo!) and now see that you're losing your new job! Hopefully, stability will find you soon (and a new job as well!). Congrats on this leg of your race though!

Thank you Speechchick! And thanks for stopping by! There was a meeting about the layoffs tonight, explaining the situation (all blather IMO) and again, inviting us to apply to work at either the North campus or the South campus. I may well apply for the North campus, but it would be a four-hour commute. So obviously that would NOT be my first choice! The only good news is, they saw that the majority of the students absolutely do NOT want to move North or South, so they are currently in negotiations with another Parisian business school too. So hopefully things will work out for the students, as well as for us teachers. (We would not be part of that deal of course.)

debtheaven- Any news on the purchase? My vote it to pay down the boiler loan. Makes the most sense to me, and though I don’t know how things work over there, I doubt you guys would even be on their radar for an audit. ) I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your business school job! How awful for the students as well. Idawngirl- You’re 2/3 of the way there, woo hoo! alicesfreedom- Fantastic update! You’re thislcose to 50% paid off, that’s amazing! I’m already looking forward to your next update as well! Anyone heard from Thrifty, Moody or Writer88 lately?

I swear, I'm such a rollercoaster with this. One minute I feel so great over my progress, the next I just want to cry. Right now, I feel good. I'm almost at the half way mark and I"ve got to be happy about that right? Big milestone come next month, when I finish paying one of my 7 loans. It was the biggest, standing at $6,000 when I started, right now it's at $416. I'm getting there, slowly but surely. I go on my cruise on Saturday and I'm soooo looking forward to it. I need a vacation from work so badly. I just hope everything goes well.

Minnesota I got an email today from my RE lawyer today saying that she was still waiting for his lawyer's response (since last Thurs) and that she would recontact her. I think his lawyer talks pure bullcarp, just like her client. A few weeks ago he was in such a rush that his lawyer was asking my lawyer to set a closing date. Also now that I lost this job I know it will be even harder to get a new loan, so I sort of need this to work out. Hopefully the delay is because they really are voting the building reno as promised in Oct ... but who knows. Thanks for asking! By the way I have a check ready to go for the boiler loan (their minimum payment ie 3 x 155) but I'm waiting till I hear about the rental to actually mail it.

Good Morning. Sent in the income tax papers so in about 3-4 weeks should get the money back. It will cover the $3000.00 for the overdraft and pay for the glasses that I had to get for my 12DD. I am proud of her for that as she was leaning towards an expensive pr of frames but got ones that were only 193.00, and I didn't get anti-glare on her lenses as they are only for reading and computer. So I used my little stash of cash to treat her to a few things. A couple of tops and hats ( she still missing a lot of clothes as I went through both of her dressers and closet and got rid of 3/4 of her clothes because they don't fit.) She is only 12 and wears ladies medium tops and about a 30 inch waist pants. So hoping it all lasts until summer . So hoping there is no more things to buy until next paycheck. So have a good day everyone. ;D

just a fly by - its time for me to post but I don't have exact numbers today so I'll wait another day or to and get a figure which is final for the fortnight.
DH - maybe if another Parisian school stakes on the students they'll need teachers too? Alice - good on you for spending a little on DD when she needs it. I think sometimes we get so caught up in the debt repayment that we forget to spend a little on things that will bring us joy or make life that little easier. Yogini - new boys are always so much fun! Idawn - good luck with the bankrupcy I hope it all works out.

Alice Can't wait to see your next update! Your DD must be so happy with her "treats"! Yogini Enjoy your boy! It's lovely to see you so happy! EL I actually applied that same day (Tues) but my email came back. Today I called the school to check their addy and I resent my application (plus a couple of others too). Last night I told the association that runs my Wed night class that I'd do that night class again next year. Sadly, the friend I share that class with lost her DH on Monday . So I'll be teaching that class every week rather than every other week for the foreseeable future. She asked me to take over her daytime classes too, but they are the same hours as my business school classes so I had to tell her that I couldn't until after 1 April.

Heard from my RE lawyer again today. She has called the seller's lawyer twice this week, both times she was out. Of course she hasn't returned my lawyer's calls. I alternate between hoping this deal works out and hoping it doesn't! I hope it does because everything has gone up 15% since Oct and I know this is a good deal. I hope it doesn't so I can take 9K to pay off the reno loan. So frustrating!!! But it's slightly less frustrating than waiting for the rental sale to go through. In a worst-case scenario, we'll still have money in the bank! But we couldn't afford to buy anything else near here though. If this transaction falls through we will have to buy a rental at least two hours away, and that will come with its own set of headaches. And I applied for two more teaching jobs. It is so disheartening, most of the time I don't even get a response.

Dear Debtheaven and Indebtyogini. I think a mistake has been made in my total debt as I did an update on page 4 and added my other credit card in there. It should read: 3/11/11$12,167.57(9/2/2009$25,341.42 I226,IPT4) Thank you for all you do, it keeps me accountable. The super good news is that my husbands work insurance pays for my DD glasses. So I submitted all the info online and will get it back in about 5-6 business days. Thank you again ladies.

Tthank you Minnesotagirl7. Yes it is great that hubbys medical pays for the glasses. But still it was a very good price for the glasses because we got discounts for her being a first timer and also because she is under 18.

Sorry sorry sorry about the long delay in posting... life has been hectic with the new Bf.. he live 65kms away and we split time between my condo (where i have my numbers) and his house which he recently put up for sale and we've been cleaning/staging in preparation for the sale and future move on the bright side bf is moving in when the house sells so I'll have extra money saved each month that i can use to attack debt with. The ideal would be to clear everything but the mortgage in the next 1 to 1.5 years so that it would give us a clean start (he's debt free) if we ever want to get a place together. It would also open up the possibility for me to keep the condo and rent it out. Have to call my accountants to get my taxes done and see what the refund will be. Also next month is pay raise and bonus month.. can't wait to see what those will be .. i really want that LOC done and over with. .then i'll attack CC and DAD. If i could clear all those by the end of this year it would be heaven! dh - congrats on winning your race, sorry about the job.. but your resilient and always find a solution.. just hang in there! I just sped read through 5 pages so i don't remember everything but you gals are all inspirational to me! I promise to try to keep up more often but i have my exam in a couple of weeks so it may be fly by posting for a little bit Take care!

Hi Thrifty! So nice to "see" you! Glad all is going so well with your BF and with work! Hopefully you'll be back soon with another great update. Good luck on your exams! Sounds like you have a great plan, and things should accelerate once he moves in. You're so close on that LOC and your CC! I appreciate your kind words.
