No hounding for me the last couple of weeks. We're busy packing, plus my DH's grandmother died. I'll have to pick up some more free BBQ sauce, I have the $1/1 KC Masterpiece q's, and it's on sale for 89 cents at one of the local grocery stores this week. Once things calm down, I'll be back to posting more ETA: Blues, you're doing so well with your neice, but she's going to have to want to change. My SIL was like that, and it wasn't until she almost lost her youngest that she realized she had to make the change to get off drugs and start taking care of her kids. At this point, my DN has been mostly been raised by her great-grandparents, so she's got behavior issues.

Just got back from a week of vacation with my extended family. I was really surprised when the talk turned to couponing. Seems that my mom, aunt, cousin and cousin's wife are all couponers. Definitely not the type seen on extreme couponing show, we even talked about the show some, just the type of couponers that you find here, using coupons to save quite a bit of money, maybe small stockpiles. Maybe some of them even are on here....

sharleone: So so sorry to hear about your DH's grandma. georgiagal: Welcome back. Hope you had a nice, restful time. How fun to have so many relatives that are using coupons. You guys could start your own little coupon exchange. ;D

Went into wags today to pick up my normal two papers to start out with and they wouldn't let me buy two. The lady said they're having to limit papers now to one per person.

sharona- Call the newspaper company and ask about that. It sounds fishy. I don't see how businesses can limit purchase of the newspapers like that.
When my parents owned their newspaper distributorship, you wanted your stores to sell as many papers as possible. You could always up how many papers were dropped to you if need be. If you were constantly getting refunds on too many headers you could get lose your route or management would step in to see what you were doing - such as possibly padding your count. As long as the papers are paid for, it just doesn't sound right.

I had my yard/stockpile sale this morning at my campground. I sold about 75% of what I took with me in a little over 2 hours and made almost $300! All on stuff that was free or close to it! I just came home to "restock" so I have stuff to see tomorrow...AMAZING!

I have a question about a coupon that is out this week end. The Aussie/Herbal Essence Coupon is $3 off one styler when you buy one Aussie/Herbal Essence product (no mention of styler or shampoo) Does that mean if I buy say two hair sprays I can use the $3 off and a $1 off one coupon? Neither coupon is a $ when you buy 2 so I am confused. Let me know what you all think.

I thought other couponing newbies might want to know about this- if you sign up for a CVS card and then register it on their website, they will email you a 4$ off a 20$ purchase coupon. It doesn't specify if you have to have 20$ after other coupons or before, though.

With newspaper sales in the dumps lately because the move to the internet to get news I figured our post dispatch would be loving this coupon thing. For the store to limit sales to one I can imagine the newspaper would be very angry.

I never really thought about it before, but (at least around here) they put out "early edition" Sunday paper on Saturday and that is the one that has the coupons. I thought everyone had Saturday and Sunday to get their coupons but perhaps not.

Why don't they just order more from the distributor? Good question. I often go in to wags on Saturday to see supplies decimated only to go in the next day to see them restocked. I just don't understand why they'd limit newspapers. This particular wags will let people do a dozen back to back identical transactions but won't let people but more than one newspaper.

To make me feel better about the newspaper situation life decided to send me 3 of my $15 rebates in one day. $45 for checking my mailbox. Not too shabby.

The first coupon - $3 off wyb works like this: It's $3 off an Aussie/HE styling product w/the requirement that you purchase another Aussie/HE product. The $3 is only coming off the 2nd product, if that makes sense. Then, you can apply a coupon to the first product that you are buying (the requirement buy) SO LONG AS that coupon only says $x/1. You couldn't use a $x/2 (or 3) - you get the idea.

That's the way it always is with the $/$$ at CVS.

Around here, coupons in the Sunday papers. Saturday versions of the Sunday paper- known as bulldogs- because they were placed in a distributorships area but not by the carrier (therefore, bulldogging into their territory) are just a bare bones version of the paper- more like a daily and usually a lower cost- think a Saturday evening paper really. I think they finally did away with bulldogs here when they did away with the afternoon paper. It wasn't that popular with consumers and carriers hated it.
Preparing for a minor hound sometime this week I think. Need to stock up on some stuff. Then I need to hide it so my ex-SIL and the nieces stop shopping my stash. The yget the impression that I'm made of money.

It never crossed my mind that others had to wait until Sunday.

Leanna. Thanks for the input. I see lots of inexpensive aussie spray in my future. Cvs and wags have it on sale. I also have EBs to burn and will earn more so its win/win.

The yget the impression that I'm made of money. MizBear, my SIL does something similar. She was at my house the other night, and saw some Secret body spray I hounded back in December. Since she had seen a number of the bottles hanging around, she assumed I didn't like it and asked me for it. Uhh no, I just don't bathe in the perfume like she and my DH do, and my 6 yo loves it too. At first, I didn't mind giving her some of my stockpile, but lately her attitude has just been getting under my skin, and I've been saying no. Especially since we're having to feed her and her 2 kids until someone brings her back to KC (and she eats more than myself and my 6 yo combined). I picked her up for the funeral, but there's no transportation going the other way until after the 20th, and I'm not doing it. We don't have the money for either the extra mouths or the trip. Sorry for the rant. I didn't realize how much it was bothering me. She doesn't have a job, and once she gets married next month, her DF wants her to be a stay at home mom, so there's no help with the costs of food.

Did anyone see what's free after RR at WAGs this morning? I usually only hound things that I or another family member will use (unless it's a MM, of course) b/c I just don't have space to store extra stuff or time to find a place to drop donations off. I usually don't have a problem with finding stuff that I or someone I know will use though. But what on earth would I do with some Extenze male enhancement? I think DH would be offended if I even brought that home....

I currently have no RRs and have looked at all the current ad previews and see nothing that will entice me to jump in. Half of me is sad, cuz the deals just aren't there right now (of course IT IS summer) and the other half of me is enjoying the break. But for those who need toothbrushes, it's a awesome week!! ;D

I had a good day at CVS yesterday. I passed several stores and was looking for Refresh rainchecks. I got a couple and also stockpiled 16 Xtra detergents. That will stock us for a year. Got some cheap floor cleaner at Fry's. My cleaning closet is good for a while. H&B is well stocked. Need to concentrate on dog food and just replenish staples now. My chasing every deal days are done. I'm feeling like my idol Dancinmama.

NAG-
Has anyone noticed how we turn our heads to annoying behaviors no matter how much it grates on our very last itty bitty nerve when there is a child involved??

You are smart. Just let the deals come to you. Some weeks there won't be anything to hound for and that's okay. It happens to me ALL THE TIME at the grocery store. I don't think I'll be going to any of the drug chains this week. Next week there will be two freebies at CVS: A Balance bar for $1.69/get $1.69 EB and Complete saline solution for $7.99/get a $7.99 EB.

If there is a limit for your CVS card (like the toothbrushes this week) how do you get more than 2 with the same card? does it read your card and block you from buying anymore even if you go to a different store?
