"I laugh when someone with a title gets all self-righteous about it....I figure they were the kids who got stuffed in the lockers growing up so they need to feel important as adults."
We have a manager that transferred from somewhere else. When she first started working with us she tried to make everyone address her using the initials of her job title. She would correct you if you called her 'Mrs. Smith' and have a stroke if you called her by her first name (which of course people did on purpose). It had to be 'JT Smith'. Poor thing.

Thanks, Naggie. That leaves only Snerdley, dianartemis, Bob Ross, and ZaireinHD. I know I've seen Bob and Snerdley lurking around. Hopefully the large, bold text will help flag them down. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

This isn't so much about unusual names, Spencer. It's about names that have no obvious interpretation. "Unrepentant spendthrift" may have a quirky back story, but the meaning is straightforward.

So what's the back story? -------------- dianartemis is both the Greek and Roman names for the greek goddess Artemis. Her choice could be interesting. ------------------- I don't need the title. I just want the big income.

3044, my curiosity stems from the missing 'a' on the end of 'diana' (or alternatively, the missing 'a' at the start of 'artemis').

Thanks for noticing. I just wanted a change. I would love the change my profile name that can be searched as I do have a couple of cyberstalkers. Some of my brilliance comes back to me in odd places. ![:o](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/shocked.png) One I planted was "they are like a drop of poison in fresh water".

Virgil - You may appreciate this. I think my name is pretty clear. Some ditz back on the old MSN thought I was a flower child from the 60's and I was a pot smoker. Another one told me I misspelled "peace" and it should be "piece". LMAO!!!

It's more than that. Much more. I can feel it in my bones.
I've seen "Piece of Mind" used as a username. Most people probably "get" the double entendre. I've also seen "Peas of Mind" used, not as a name but where one poster jokingly told another "You must have real peas of mind."
If you fool around with "mind" instead, it's not hard to come up with some 'less appropriate' variations.

Yeah, she was doing an interview with the superintendent of a school district and she called him mister so and so and he said "I'm DR. so and so!" and she told him "My husband has a PhD and he's NOT a doctor!" Nice to be loved ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png) She's just making sure you don't get a big head...I laugh when someone with a title gets all self-righteous about it....I figure they were the kids who got stuffed in the lockers growing up so they need to feel important as adults. Those are the adults I still want to give wedgies to! The head of the college I used to work at was named "Dr. Bell". He would go into the cafe and ring the little service bell every time, even if the person in the cafe was standing in the front but maybe 10 feet away. I told the manager he probably did it because he thought it was the greatest thing ever named after him.

"And sources indicate that beachbum... ...has never been homeless at the beach. ...has never been seen "bumming" at the beach! ...has never exposed her bum at the beach! Exclusive details and the shocking truth on page 21! " I admit that I have never been homeless. I live at the beach and i do bumm around a lot. ![](http://syonidv.hodginsmedia.com/vsmileys/idunno.gif) As far as the last one I plead the fifth. ![](http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff155/JiminiChristmas/smileys/9-1.gif) Maybe it should have been this emoticon. ![](http://syonidv.hodginsmedia.com/vsmileys/whisky.gif)

Last names starting with 'z' are rare, and so I stand by my original curiosity. Beach bum is defined as "a person who habitually loafs or idles on beaches". "Loafing and idling" could describe everyone's favourite EE activity, but I'm guessing "973boardbum" would get you a few looks. ![](http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff155/JiminiChristmas/smileys/50_50.gif)
