"Nobody in congress can force anyone to resign............" Not even if they do something illegal? What if they are guilty if high treason? They can be impeached. Good to know. Thank you. I knew the president could be, but I didn't know whether it applied to regular run of the mill congressmen.

But the Times reports that Weiner decided to step down after “having long discussions” with his wife, Huma Abedin, who just returned Tuesday from an overseas trip with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. I'd would have liked to be a fly on the wall for one of those "long discussions."

What about all the Liberals who defended Weiner ? Are they going to apologize for being behind this Sick Pervert?? And what took so long?? Weiner should have been forced to resign last week by Pelosi and spared us all his weird hangups ..IMHO When this story first became news the Liberals here tried to downplay it and post past issues by Republicans....this is about a Liberal who was a disagrace to the Congress of the United States before he began to post his crotch shots... Weiner still broke no law. Breitbart is still an a-hole. Conservatives who are for limited govt AND snooping into people's private lives are still hypocrites. I am still behind Weiner.

OK, so I looked at a bunch of links, and I can't find a credible source that shows any texts with the hs girls were of the "sexting" variety. No question that he was sexting adult women. Does that really make him a pervert? Stupid and arrogant, yes, but a pervert? I don't think so. How does sexting it make him arrogant? Stupid yes, pervert obviously no unless you live somewhere deep inside the bible belt where have sex with the lights on a crime, but arrogant? I don't get it. Care to explain?

I imagine there were all sorts of things, tangible and intangible, flying through the air.;D

Not sure where that is.

Allred said Lee called the news conference because she needed to clear up misconceptions about her behavior “and resume her career as a feature dancer,” according to the LA Times.
“What’s a feature dancer?” one reporter asked.
“A feature dancer is a dancer who is featured,” Allred said, adding, “She dances in clubs.”
But this was arguably not even the best part of the press conference. Here’s a snippet from the New York Times:
“The only e-mails I will talk about today are the ones that support what [Weiner] said about his package,” Ms. Allred said, before reading snippets from several messages that she said Mr. Weiner had sent Ms. Lee. “I have wardrobe demands too, I need to highlight my package,” Ms. Allred said before turning to a different e-mail. “Alright. My package and I are not gonna beg.”
Weiner has admitted to salacious Tweets and other online communications with women. He is taking a mental-health break from his Congressional duties.
Weiner, AP reports, has told friends he wants to speak with his pregnant wife, Huma Abedin, before deciding whether to resign. She returned to Washington early Wednesday from a trip to Africa with her boss, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.

PI, you might want to leave Allred out of the discussion if you want people to take you seriously. I like Gloria and would hire her in a heartbeat as my attorney when and if Mr Burns decides to quit on me...Ma'am... But so far Mr Burns is representing my legal and constitutional interests

But so far Mr Burns is representing my legal and constitutional interests You live in CA, he lives in ON. Good to know he's practicing law without a license in CA. The ON bar association would be very happy to hear that. And if you like Gloria, it is evident that you have no idea what a real attorney is actually supposed to do for their clients. She's a publicist with a law degree.

Sorry Paul, you were close but until Weiner steps up releases a statement to his constituants he has not resigned, he may have called Pelosi to give her a heads up on the 15th but, until his rsignation letter is in hand he can always change his mind. Nope. It was a done deal BEFORE he even said anything when President Obama weighed in.

It is my opinion that Gloria Allred is all about Gloria and is not serving her client's interests and anyone who thinks she is a good attorney is a fool. That's my opinion and I'm sticking with it. If that's meanspirited, so be it.

Then look in the mirror Ma'am..
Weiner is a sick pervert so deal with it, and Allred and her client sealed the deal as far as congress was concerned..after their press conference yesterday the Liberals in congress all called for Weiner to resign in case you missed that little factod Ma'am...?

It's not meant to be a cheap shot, it's what I see. Then look in the mirror Ma'am.. I see someone who is pretty cute and who works to serve her clients, not her own public image. I also see someone who doesn't really care who sends pictures of his package to other consenting adults.

The glass house is the problem. We need much stricter privacy laws in the USA. I disagree with that. If you send a picture of your package to someone, they're free to do whatever they want with the picture. Be careful who you send it to. Weiner's private life is not why, in my mind, he should have resigned. To me the greatest offense was not even the lying to cover it up. It was slandering Andrew Breitbart by name-- for which Weiner acknowledged he did when apologized in his admission and apology, and for asking others to lie on his behalf. His behavior had a very real cost to Mr. Breitbart. I don't know if you've ever had the priviledge of being the private citizen accused of a federal felony by a sitting member of the United States House of Representatives-- but it's a pretty serious charge to have to deal with. And WE THE PEOPLE are the BOSS here, you don't treat the boss this way and still take the Boss's money.

Under the current laws, yes. I am saying such laws need to be changed.

That's where I have a problem with Mr. Weiner. When he got caught he should have just admitted to it. The coverup is always worse than the "crime."
