3 senses of fundamental
Sense 1: cardinal, central, fundamental, key, primal important (vs. unimportant), of import
Sense 2: fundamental, rudimentary, underlying basic (vs. incidental)
Sense 3: fundamental, profound significant (vs. insignificant), important
Webster’s Definition of Transformation:
An act, process, or instance of change in structure, appearance, or character
A conversion, revolution, makeover, alteration, or renovation
Is it the job of the president to fundamentally transform the country he is elected to lead? The ones who want a complete change in the foundation and structure of this country are those who despise this country. Do you want to fundamentally transform something you love? I thought the wife example was very good.

People elected a man that does not respect this country. He has no sense of the people that fought and died to make us what we are. He has no sense of being an AMERICAN. He is a globalist, period. Why would a country want someone at the head that does not think his country is the best in the world??? Answer-- we don't.

We were not all involved in electing him, and some that were shouldn't have been. We'll see if they show up next time, since they didn't get their ponies..

We were not all involved in electing him, ... How were you, or anyone, excluded from the election process? ... and some that were shouldn't have been. We'll see if they show up next time, since they didn't get their ponies.. Are you claiming that his margin of victory was a result of fraud? Or is it that you would deny some American citizen's their constitutional right to vote based on some criteria you decide?

Well, if the drunks on the streets have to be rounded up, fed, given smokes, to get your man ahead... yeah.. I'm all for people with no understanding and the ability to be bought off not voting. Let's see if the new ACORN can pull it off this time after being busted so badly last time.

Bad enough libs have infiltrated colleges and got a bunch of kids that are uninformed to vote lib, but rounding up the drunks, mentally ill, etc-- that is low.

Liberals should be kept out of colleges. Any college professor needs to pass a test that proves that (s)he is a conservative who wants to gut Medicare and give tax cuts to the rich. Enough with the free expression and free flow of ideas nonsense that has permeated out educational institutions. We need an iron hand to guide our future - the college students. We need them to vote for Republicans so that Republicans get an absolute majority to safely pass tax cuts for the rich.

I also think that perhaps anyone who is a Democrat should be prevented from voting in the USA as Democrats are highly unlikely for vote for Republicans.

Why would a country want someone at the head that does not think his country is the best in the world??? Answer-- we don't. Why would anyone want someone to stick their head in the sand while they shake their pompoms? We are not the best country in the world. We have a ton of problems that need to be addressed. To say we are the best and everything is just fine the way it is would be a lie or simply complete denial. To ignore those problems would be to disrespect America. Our public educational systems are a mess. Our infrastructure is a mess. There are no more manufacturing jobs being created. We don't make anything to market to the rest of the world. Those re just some of the issues we are currently facing. We used to be the greatest country in the world. I want us to get back there again. Prez Obama has no less sense of being an American than you or I or anyone else.

Sure we have problems. Everyone has problems. But Obama is not addressing OUR problems. He's a globalist. So, cereb, where would you rather live, that you think is better than the USA, and why don't you live there?

Hmmmmmm. The man that we elected to be our leader we don't want as our leader? It's called Cognitive Dissonance: State of psychological tension arising from incompatibility among a person's attitudes, behavior, beliefs, and/or knowledge, or when a choice has to be made between equally attractive or repulsive alternatives.

Obama's Idea of "Fundamental Transformation = Just a Bump In The Road"....
Now the voters who believed Obama's hope and promise BS three years ago are all wondering what the Hell was he talking about..They all lost hope a long time ago and the promise for a better economy was just pure unadulterated spin and hype...handed out by a shallow and weak politician from Chicago Illinois..

I don't have a problem with my country, as such. I LOVE my country. The problems we have now are with lack of jobs, failure to develop our own energy sources, illegals pouring in to our country, deep, deep debt, not enough people paying taxes to meet our basic expenses, etc -- Obama is not addressing that. Bush is gone, by the way.

Nuh uh. . . . never had the degree of cognitive dissonance seen in this presency. Obama is being pulled in all directions and he's helpless to move in any direction. That's the whole problem. Only thing he can do is play golf and appoint more thug czars hoping things work themselves out. He is a paralyzed present.

Why is it wrong for Canadians to think theirs is the best country in the world? Or, for Brits to think the same, or Germans, or Dutch, or Swiss, or Brazilians, Israelis, or Saudis? For that matter, why does a country have to be best? Why can't each country be best at being what they are for their citizens? Like cereb, I do get a bit tired of all the pom-pom shaking.
