turkishinvitations.weebly.com/winning-over-texas-politicians.html On Every Continent but Antarcticaturkishinvitations.weebly.com/every-continent-but-antarctica.htmlSTRATFOR Global Intelligence Special Report, Aug 23, 2010 "Islam, Secularism and the Battle for Turkey's Future" www.brighteningglance.org/on-turkey.html“Inside Turkey, the Gulen Movement follows a determined agenda that aims to replace the Kemalist elite and transform Turkey into a more religiously conservative society. Outside Turkey, Gulen presents itself as a multifaith global organization working to bring businesses, religious leaders, politicians, journalists and average citizens together. Whatever its public relations moves, the Gulen movement is at base just one more player jockeying for power in Turkey." Irish Times Jan 28, 2010 Ethiopian schools put Turkey on curriculum "Hakan Yavuz, a Turkish professor at the University of Utah, who has co-edited a book on the Gulen phenomenon, describes the movement as the most powerful force in Turkey and says its main goal has been the “Islamisation” of Turkish society.“ 'When the schools became successful, they decided to expand them and use them to generate international legitimacy [by stressing] that they are not Islamic but rather humanitarian with the purpose of building bridges across different cultures.' ..... Yavuz argues that there is a wider agenda as manifested by its increasingly global reach. ..... ' The movement, which is rooted in selective vision of the glorious Ottoman past, has its own imperial vision of turning Turkey into a global power,' he says." turkishinvitations.weebly.com/goals-of-the-gulen-movement.html

There IS no Christ in schools, in case you missed that, except for private schools. No, the people that will send their kids to Gulen schools are the libs that would NEVER send their kid to a private Christian school, but will gladly send them to a Gulan school. Then pat themselves on their progressive backs all the way home-- while the Islamists laugh at them, and spend their money to grow the cause in the USA and abroad. Maybe I don’t understand the point you want to make. There IS no Christ in schools, in case you missed that, except for private schools. That’s good there should not be.No, the people that will send their kids to Gulen schools are the libs that would NEVER send their kid to a private Christian school, but will gladly send them to a Gulan school. I attended two Catholic schools because they offer the best-structured education IMO. As an atheist, I understood I would have to except the religious rituals, which go along with this type of education. I also have a free and open mind and can dispel any dogma. Whether Christian, Islam, Public or any other school if the education is great take it and dispel the rest. The problem that Texas has is not so much the education portion as is the business model. Local businesses don’t like that contracts are awarded to companies that are owned by them. This is the same as the Mormon model of doing business.

No problem, ugo. I think I put some blame on Bush way back at the beginning of this thread. Seem forever from all the research I have done, but is just 2 pages.. LOL!!! Just as long as we all understand that this is all part of this global creeping thing, and no one is exempt at this time, not Bush, not Obama. Seems Obama is pushing for MORE funding for charter schools, which goes many different directions, but also goes this way-- which is not good for our country. This guy is too radical for TURKEY, why do we want him, or anything he believes in?? Answer-- we don't. People just don't know..
Marsha-- thank you!!!!! Ugo got me going on this one.. oh, so subtle, isn't it?

There is some truth to what you say.At first I was upset over teachers being imported from Turkey [which is a pretty astounding number,I was reading] but seeing as how we are talking about tax dollors here,There could be some trouble. I was just reading a piece on how the FBI and Board of Education investigating the group to try to see if there is improper use of tax funds going on....

No previous teaching jobs? Hmmm 12b1 visas are supposed to be for highly skilled workers...I doubt even a regular elementry achool teacher would rightfully fill the bill, especially since there are so many unemployed here.

Non taken, as a Texas businessman and after reading, what you posted this is the most disconcerting part for local businesses.

Marsha, check out Texas Senate Resolution SR 85.It was a resolution honoring Imam Gulen. It passed. They have some friends. In researching, they seem to be either heros or terrorists indoctinating our youth.Strange...Whichever,I don't like our tax dollors going to them.

<<<The senate of the US state of Texas on Tuesday passed a resolution commending respected Turkish scholar Fethullah Gülen for his contributions to the promotion of global peace and understanding.
Senate Resolution No. 85, which was approved during Tuesday's session chaired by Texas Lt. Governor David Dewhurst, said, "The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Fethullah Gülen for his ongoing and inspirational contributions to the promotion of global peace and understanding." The resolution said Turkish scholar, author, poet, preacher and educational activist Fethullah Gülen has inspired a worldwide social movement that promotes humanistic values and service, known as the Hizmet movement, or the Gülen movement.
"Based on the principle that each human being is of value, regardless of background, faith or culture, the Gülen movement offers a multifaceted approach to seeking world peace.
It also places a strong emphasis on intercultural understanding and the embracing of differences; it values compassionate acts of care and concern; and it promotes the importance of education in laying the groundwork for fostering better relationships between diverse populations," read the approved resolution.
The senate recognized that the Gülen movement emphasizes the core concept that peace is a function of tolerance and dialogue and it offers "Living to let others live" as the foundation of a life of altruistic service and calls on the younger generation to combine intellectual enlightenment with spirituality to make the world a better place.
Noting that the strength of the universal values promoted by the movement has led to the creation of the Gülen Institute at the University of Houston, which promotes academic research as well as grassroots activity as a means to bring about positive social change, the resolution said, "Gülen and the movement for social justice he inspired are truly deserving of recognition for their impact on our global society."
"Now, therefore, be it resolved that the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd Legislature, hereby commend Fethullah Gülen for his dedication to working toward a better world through education, service, tolerance and the free exchange of ideas and extend to him best wishes for continued success in all his endeavors," the senate resolved. >>>>. I don't care if he is friggin mother theresa. I don't like our taxes going to them, and importing Turkish teachers.

You must move in the arteries of the system without anyone noticing your existence until you reach all the power centers … until the conditions are ripe, they [the followers] must continue like this. If they do something prematurely, the world will crush our heads, and Muslims will suffer everywhere, like in the tragedies in Algeria, like in 1982 [in] Syria … like in the yearly disasters and tragedies in Egypt. The time is not yet right. You must wait for the time when you are complete and conditions are ripe, until we can shoulder the entire world and carry it … You must wait until such time as you have gotten all the state power, until you have brought to your side all the power of the constitutional institutions in Turkey … Until that time, any step taken would be too early—like breaking an egg without waiting the full forty days for it to hatch. It would be like killing the chick inside. The work to be done is [in] confronting the world. Now, I have expressed my feelings and thoughts to you all—in confidence … trusting your loyalty and secrecy. I know that when you leave here—[just] as you discard your empty juice boxes, you must discard the thoughts and the feelings that I expressed here. gulenwatch.blogspot.com/2010/07/rogers-fethullah-gulen-infiltrating-us.htmlThis is the quote that got Gulen indicted in Turkey for plotting to overthrow the goverment. Charges were eventually dropped.

Great. I have a new cause I never even knew existed. WHY, and HOW does this happen to us?? The Sonoran Academy in Tucson is top rated for charter schools. and it takes kids really little.... elementary, I think.. I'm so disgusted.
