Mich, I wish I could help. I don't know if you saw any of my posts over the past few months about my cat randomly peeing on the floor. The vet checked him out. I was sure it was jealousy over the baby. Just as randomly as he started (and it lasted a few months), he stopped. He's been using the litter box consistently for about 3 or 4 weeks now. I wish I had a clue as to why. Good luck!

We now have 4 cats and 5 litter boxes which are cleaned DAILY. My one cat was a pooper if I went out of town but I am out of town and DF says she is fine, so far.

I'll be going out of town Friday, so am trying to figure out what to do. I may get a small litter box and place it in front of the bathroom sink, where he normally poops. Since no one will be using the bathroom, hopefully he'll use the box rather than the rug. But will leave the rugs down since they are easier to wash than scrubbing dried poop off the floor.
I know that this is a carry over from me being gone. Last week, I left the rug in the dryer, never putting it back down and he didn't poop any place but the litter box. Then when I put it down, he pooped on BOTH rugs, and then did the same thing yesterday. And this was with a freshly scooped litter box.
So both rugs are in the dryer right now. I can live without the rug in front of the sink, but do want to keep the one in front of the tub.
I wish I knew what was going on in his brain......

Google Bach's Flower Remedy. It is a natural treatment for anxiety. That might help. I've used it for car rides and it seemed to help.
Good luck and (((hugs))) to you and kitty.

Well, DF called to say my cat pooped by his nightstand because she is mad that I am out of town. I told him to call the vet for kitty prozac.

My old cat used to crap all over my bedroom while I was away at college. Once, and I have no idea how, he actually pooped on the raised rung under my desk - it's like 2 inches off the ground and maybe 3 inches wide, and the little pile was sitting perfectly in the middle of it. No clue how he managed that balancing act to specifically place it there! He rarely did it while I was home. They're vindictive little sh*ts! (in all reality, he probably could've used kitty prozac, as he was pretty much afraid of everything except us, lol)
