Good time to buy. Too bad so many people's credit is ruined from the recent crash. Good time to be rich. It works for me, though. I have been flushing money down the toilet for 11 years renting my house. Works for me, because repairs are not in my budget. My landlord is awesome. He could have sold this house years ago, tried to get me to buy it, but did not want to uproot my kids from their schools. My landlord is a good man. The best. NOW-- he is stuck with us for who knows how many more years, but we all appreciate each other, and my kids still have the home they grew up in, the grandbabies get to live and/or play here.. it works for us. Vacancies all over my NICE neighborhood. Hard times for many people. Worse for people like my landlord than people like me, that's for sure. I never saw anything good about having virtually nothing, but the last few years I have. SO many have lost SO much, but all I lost was a lot of my income, because that is all I had to lose. I feel a lot worse for people that have lost their homes, jobs, everything, and have never had to live like I always live before. Must be so hard for those people.

Where does southern CA begin/end? Where would we want to fly into if we wanted to take a nice, long drive up the coast through northern CA...starting and stopping points? Thanks. I am thinking a ten day to two week trip. Where would you suggest stopping each time for a few days for a GREAT experience?

We are trying to decide where we want to go for our thirtieth in September/October. We have talked about both CA and the New England areas. It is a lot like New England in the fall HERE, so I am leaning toward CA. Haven't been to either.

I just need a starting and stopping point and then I can research the "in between." Mad Dawg said he would help me too. I like to ask the natives, so I don't waste my time on places that may not be worthwhile.

Oregon may need to be another trip??? Would ten days be enough time to cover it ALL at a leisurely pace?

Does anyone know of a site where you could type in a month when you want to go somewhere and the location and they will map out a nice sightseeing trip for you? I need easy and no travel agents.

I am thinking a ten day to two week trip. Where would you suggest stopping each time for a few days for a GREAT experience? I've always considered Sacramento the division line between North and South. If I were you, I'd fly into Frisco and drive up from there. There are hundreds of places to stop and explore. Heck! Now that I think about it, maybe I don't want to move. ;D Wow, Sacramento is pretty far north to consider everything south of that to be Southern CA. South of Santa Barbara: Southern CA Santa Barbara to the San Francisco Bay Area: Central CA San Francisco Bay Area and North: Northern CA I don't think you'd find a single person in San Francisco that would say that they lived in Southern CA.

Maybe flying into Cisco, sightseeing for ten days and flying out of somewhere near the border of Oregon?? Ten days on the road up the coast, one way...no return to Cisco.
