Forget about getting consensus on health care reform; liberals and conservatives might never even agree on what constitutes the best french fry.
Hunch.com, which culls data from millions of users about their preferences, takes a look at how eating habits differ based on political views. In turn, that data is presented in this fascinating infographic, picked up by Mashable.com.
The big takeaways: •Conservatives are 38 percent more likely to prefer McDonald’s french fries, and they also opt for thicker steak fries. Liberals, on the other hand, like their pommes frites bistro-style. •If you walk into a home and get a whiff of home-cooked coconut curry with lamb and rice, you can be pretty darn sure your host is liberal. •28 percent more liberals enjoy beer, and most drink wine at home. Conservatives, meanwhile, are more likely to drink milk and non-diet soft drinks. •If you’re trying to woo a conservative, keep it simple: skip the fine dining and fancy pastas and stick to spaghetti at the Olive Garden.
But wait, there's hope! While liberals are more likely to enjoy thin crust pizza (President Obama is an exception -- is that considered reaching across the aisle?), and conservatives are more likely to crave deep dish, they are both equally satisfied by a regular crust. And if you really want to keep the peace, hook everyone up with soft tortillas, which the left and right both pick over crunchy tacos.
What do you think? Does the data match your political leanings?

.Twice this year I had a $1 McD burger, I really don’t like french fries but occasionally eat home fries. .I only tasted lamb one time in my life that was at Sam’s a handout and still don’t like it. .I will drink a half bottle of ice-cold Shiner bock occasionally, beer taste bad at room temperature, sometimes I drink a small glass of dessert wine. I normally drink water or apple juice. .Two days ago I had spaghetti at the Spaghetti Warehouse. .I ate pizza during my younger days but only like thin pizza with only a very small amount of tomato sauce baked in. No cheese or meat or other junk. .Amount of alcohol consumed so far this year Zero.

pommes frites bistro-style What the heck does that mean? I think it's Belgian fries. They are about the same as far as I know. Twice fried. But they serve them with MAYONNAISE.

LOL!!! I am pretty conservative-- sometimes, and I don't care for fancy food because I like large portions. I drink milk because I am an aging female, wine makes me sick, as does hard liquor except tequila, and I love beer but don't drink because I had my share when I was young... and yours... and your neighbor's.... I could live on Mexican food and almost do, any kind, as long as it is not head or gut meat.... more in to cleaner meats like fish and nasty chicken... DIE for all dairy, most veggies, like fruit.. Lots of water from the local drugged tap, coffeeeeeeee................ McD's rule for fries, homemade salsa and tort chips yum..,. known to eat off the 1$ menu in my cab.... So what am I?? A redneck from Texas??? You DON'T say!!!!!!

No you cannot be a true Red Neck if you don't down a six pack of Bud or Coors Beer everyday and drive a Ford Pickup truck with a loaded shotgun under your seat.... but being from Texas helps especially if you are from Houston..
Oh and real Red Necks live on Chili and Pizza & love Nascar

I guess the poll fits me. I am "middle of the aisle" when it comes to politics, so I shouldn't be surprised that some of my preferences lean liberal, and others are conservative. By the way, I love Olive Garden. (Who's buying?!)

No. I don't like lamb, don't eat fried foods, not into tacos and I might have pizza once or twice a year.

My favorite at Olive Garden is their spaghetti with sausages Do they still have that pasta with steak, gorgonzola sauce and balsamic reduction? Haven't been to OG for years. We go to a family Italian. They had a special once that was gorgonzola sauce pasta topped with hot wing tenders. OMG!! Deelightfully deadly!

Not crazy about french fries, but McDonalds are as good as any, in my book. Don't care for lamb and don't cook it. I do like curry, but usually use chicken. Don't drink alcohol of any kind. I might have a glass of wine, socially, on occasion, but don't really care for it. I'd rather have water, milk, or fruit juice. I make my Italian foods at home because we prefer them. Don't eat out all that often, but if we do, it will be at a coffee shop or a local restaurant with a wide variety. Haute cuisine is for very special occasions only. I forgot the pizza and tortillas. I'm not nuts about pizza, but prefer thick crust, or regular, to thin crust. Don't like much tomato sauce, and would prefer cheeses. Love tortillas, whether corn or flour. I enjoy them just as well soft as crispy. Depends on how I'm using them.

THAT sounds goooood!!!!!! It was awesome. You could make it just using a good Alfredo sauce, add some gorgonzola crumbles and use frozen hot wing tenders. So good it about made me cry. Had to eat it in three settings though. Can't eat much it's VERY rich.

It doesn't fit me well.
I prefer McD's fries over other fast food fries, though my preference, I would love to have thicker steak fries.
I'm not into fancy dining, either and would prefer a normal dinner at a normal restaurant.
I prefer non-diet soft drinks.
I almost never drink alcohol unless it happens to be there at a social event. I don't drink at home ... at all.
I will drink wine or beer ... I have no preference. I'm not a fan of alcohol of any kind. I just don't like the taste.
And I LOVE pan or thick crust pizza, especially stuffed crust. I avoid thin crust if I can and will only eat it if it's someone else's pizza. I would never order it for myself.
So I kind of blew the mold on this study ... but I doubt I'm a closet conservative. ;D

Well, to be fair the whole Liberal vs Conservative thing kind of cracked me up. Especially over the budget...the two proposed budgets were off by $34B...which is like a one percent difference. And yet everybody got all up in arms about it lol..."OH MY GOD, GRANDMA IS GOING TO DIE"...I think you people are all idiots, and frankly you get what you pay for. If you want to eat good french fries then go overseas ;p. Yea but if you USAF Guys are really into MRE's then you have to be a constipated Liberal..a true conservative would never like those god awful meals...the only thing I liked were the snacks in case you were wondering?? I used to swap the meals for snacks because that food was so bad

OOP's sorry none of you are REDNECKS. They prefer chittlins, fried okra, corn on the cob, mountain oysters, hog jowls and ribs barbecued and washed down with peach flavored mountian corn. while watching NASCAR and female wrestlers on a black and white TV.
