Well the cleaner came out to give an estimate to my FIL. He asked $40. My FIL got him down to $30. The cleaner probably will come out 2 times and quit. For that price and gas expenses, he might break even. And I am sure that my FIL will tell everyone that he did a lousy job and ripped him off. And BIL will blame me because I made the recommendation.

...:::"As far as them not cleaning a shelf... uh, mine do!":::... Uhhhhh (I love how people begin a post this way when they want to be condescending). How wonderful that your cleaners do shelves, and how maddeningly unhelpful to me. The cleaners I interviewed EXPLICITLY will not do shelves. I think you're reading waaay too much into this and taking this waaay to personally. Condescending? Please. You stated something as fact, I stated my experience disagrees. I really don't care if you have a house cleaner or not, I was merely trying to suggest that if you've had a bad experience in the past maybe you should try a different place. Nevermind, though, I see you are not to be swayed and it doesn't matter to me.

We met with our person before we officially hired her, and I asked for references. There were people in our area she had worked for for years that all gave her the two thumbs up. She's been cleaning for us for a little over three years now, and she is wonderful. She's a lovely lady.
I couldn't agree with Miss Rigby more about the steam mop. We have a Shark, and it is fantastic. I tried all kinds of mops, wet vacs, etc. and nothing has been easier or done as good of a job cleaning as the Shark. It was worth every penny. We had the basic model and literally wore it out. We upgraded to the newer model with the longer cord and bigger water tank.
